Oh look, i made one!
I was actually debating about doing so, because i lead a pretty boring life.. However, i like to ramble. I guess its smarter to leave it all in one place instead of infecting it all over the board. LOL
We still have to write thank yous. We suck.
I have nothing else to babble.. So here are cute pictures of my cousins i took at one of their Bday parties on Saturday.

I think you have a couple months to get your thank-you's out. Don't worry about it! :) Congrats on the wedding!

08-27-2008, 08:44 PM
Heh. Well, i was planning to do them right when i got home.. but I found out work actually gave me hours!! So by the time i get off, Steve doesn't feel like it since hes gunna go to sleep in a couple hours.. =/ Maybe Friday? i have that off..

I would just do them to get them done. Out of the way. I really wouldn't mind if he wasn't there. I can sign his name pretty good....comes in handy for cashing his checks:laugh:

08-30-2008, 11:53 AM
Haha, we finished them pretty much last night.. Just have to get a couple surprise gift cards for people who helped us to put in their thank yous. I had Steve write the addresses on the envelopes while i wrote the thank you part. :D

Thanks! I will hopefully get my named changed at work by Tuesday. My manager thinks that it'll automatically change for my insurance.. i hope shes right! Steve and i have to go back up to my bank to change my name and refill out cards there... Then i have to call my credit card companies.. Ugh.
Welcome to the after wedding journal MRS!!

Woooo, thanks!!
I think Steve is excited to call me his wife.. Duno about showing affection, though. XD I'll tell him 'husband, please do this' and he'll be like 'what would it be like if i punch my wife RIGHT IN THE FACE?!' XD Then he pretends to punch me.
..Oh, the loving relationship.
*Heehee!* Oh, the love!! LOL

Oh yes. Heh.
Ugh. Work. My legs and feet already hurt... After work we are making curry and hanging with friends till Monday.. Then going to Mongolian BBQ cuz i have a coupon. Wooooo~ I have work super early on Tues, though.
When ya gonna start looking for another job?
Nekochanpurr
08-31-2008, 09:47 PM
Good question.. I'm actually worried if i even should at the moment. Right now Steve said every Friday at his work is tense because they are laying off almost every Friday. o.o; His grandma thinks they are trying to get rid of all the older people, but.. We'll see. =/ I'm worried that if i moved jobs, mine wouldn't be as stable as it is now... Even if i get paid cr@ppy. You know? So i might have to tough it out a little longer.. I think Steve is going to try and go back to school while hes at this job, though. When i save up enough to pay for a class to up my GPA, i'm following...
Yeah, it is scary thinking about changing jobs when you have a stable one! Gosh, I hope that Steve doesn't lose his job. Just keep your eyes open, you never know when a great opportunity may pass you by!

I'm defiantly going to keep my options open..! I don't think i could afford this job forever!
...If you guys don't see me on here often... I've bought Sims 2 Apartments, so.. XD

I'm holding off until 3 comes out. Although I'm kind of curious if it's really going to be that different that 2.
Nekochanpurr
09-03-2008, 10:33 PM
I think it will. I've read a lot of stuff on it.. I'm super excited about the townies aging with your sims, everyone lives in a house, etc, etc. Plus it looks like sims care more about whats going on with other sims.. Like you can't force sims to like each other like you can in sims 2. lol
I'm a bad kid today.. Sigh. PMS demanded brownies today.. I had to agree, for it kept me from being witchy at work. lol! Ugh... Forgot to spray the stupid pan, though!

I got a wii fit. It cost us a whole $7 because we had a target gift card left over from the wedding. My friend is awesome and works in the electronic department at Target, so...
Um. Other than that, not much. Really. I lack motivation to really clean down the apartment.. it really sucks. I've got more hours at work, thats good.. But the pay still sucks. Not going to even think about changing jobs, because we don't know if they will keep Steve or not. I'd rather one of us has a stable job... Even if its with cr@p pay.
Sigh. I want my debit card in the freaking mail. I didn't realize i couldn't use mine anymore till the new one came in. >.< I think thats something they should have told me at the bank...
Sleep time....
Ninedays9
09-12-2008, 08:44 AM
That's cool that you got wii fit. Let us know how you like it. I'm curious about it, even though we don't even have a wii. I know what you mean about not having motivation to clean an apartment. I generally never did when we had ours... and then I would randomly get a cleaning bug and clean the whole thing, but that was pretty rare.
I don't know how it would work with your current schedule, but you could always try working at Kohl's also... I believe they're even hiring right now for seasonal workers, so you could try it out and leave without penalization (our store kept all the seasonal people last year, so there's an option to stay, too). Haha, sorry, just had to throw in the Kohl's plug. (It's probably not the greatest job, but I still think it's better than all the other retail jobs out there.)
Nekochanpurr
09-12-2008, 09:31 PM
Its really fun!!!! We have been playing it all freakin day...
omg, i just say i'm gunna clean it, then forget all about it.. I swear I'm blonde, lol. I really need to finish though.. =/
I should look into Kohl's. When is start time/finish for overnights? Maybe i can work that out with my kroger schedule.. I'm usually working middle of the day shifts..
Ninedays9
09-16-2008, 12:32 AM
Oops, sorry didn't see this until now. We start at 10 and finish at 6. It might vary at other stores, but it's probably very close to that.
Nekochanpurr
09-16-2008, 10:35 AM
As long as its pretty consistent like that, i might be okay doing both... It would suck to worry about inconsistent schedule conflicts.. o.o; Not at the moment, though.. For some reason, my feet are deciding to give out before i even make it to 8 1/2... I had to beg for my lunch earlier the other day because of it.. Which sucked! Luckily, the girl before me was nice and let me go.. I was shaking it hurt so bad!
In other news.. I'm hoping i get put on Steve's insurance today... When it all goes through, i'll be able to go back on BC!! My insurance by itself SUCKS. :( It only really covers things i've NEVER heard of before. I said so when i was at the pharmacy.. The guy was like 'not really'.. I was like WTF?! Seriously? Ugh.
Wish me luck at work. >.< Its another 8 1/2.
Ninedays9
09-16-2008, 10:49 AM
That stinks about your insurance. When I was on the pill, they switched me over to generic after about a year. I'm not sure what effects it had on me; I didn't notice any. I wish you luck in finding something that does work for you, and with your 8 and a half hour shift.
Nekochanpurr
09-16-2008, 08:22 PM
Well... Steve got me on his insurance!! I just have to wait for my card and stuff so i can give info to my doctors and stuff! Then i'm gunna get that prescription!
And luckily, my feet didn't hurt nearly as bad today! Thank goodness... It must've either been the weather or how far apart my breaks were..
..which is another thing. I can probably find out how i can fix my cr@ppy feet now, lol.
Sadly.. The price is like $97 between the two of us.. ouch. o.o;

While i was scanning pictures of my grandmas wedding, i found some other old interesting photos! Sadly, i couldn't scan them all because grandma used that adhesive photo book and the photos were REALLY stuck.. I didn't want them to tear. She had some pics of my great grandma and grandpa! O_O! I'll probably post them here soon.. :D

Great pics! I didn't know there were so many twins in your world!
Those adhesive photo albums are the worst. My first photo album when I was a kid, that has all kinds of crazy stuff in it, is that kind of album. It was one that my mom had lying around and just gave to me. Now I just sort of wish she'd given me a box - I can't rip the stuff out! Rip being the operative word - I can RIP it out...I just can't get it out all in one piece. So there it shall remain, forever glued in time.

Sigh. I'm an 'adult' now. I started using my credit card today. I really hate it, but i want a freaking house, so i have to build credit. Its really stupid that they pretty much applaud you for being stupid with money, though. I'd rather write a check or use my debit.. You know.. With the money i have. >.<

Oh snap! Lots of **** has happened since i've updated this journal..
Steve got laid off.. Not looking at houses anymore.. Didn't even get to start. :(
We are still waiting for his unemployment.. We are seriously BROKE and trying to do everything in our power not to drain the rest of our savings.
Went to the dentist so we could use our insurance before the end of the month. I haven't been in YEARS because we simply couldn't afford it. My wallet is crying right now. Our insurance pays about half.. I had two cavities.. Steve has SIX.. They said most of that was probably from him grinding his teeth, so he will probably also get a mouth guard.. ALSO, his bottom two wisdom teeth are pretty much rotting.. But we are too poor to even think about that one.
YAY for spending over $300 on teeth!
I can't even afford to hardly get anyone Christmas presents.. And that makes me feel like poop. UGH.
So sorry guys.. Trying not to spread my negativity through the boards, but its hard. We are going to have trouble paying our bills this month.. Even on our cheapy apartment. Bleh.

11-19-2008, 12:57 AM
Stacy -
AAAahhhh cavities. That sucks. I hate the dentist. It was smart you all went though. I'm sorry things have been rough lately...but don't be sorry to bring "negativity" to the board - you're always a positive contribution! Yeah, things are rough right now - but it's good to get it out and let us be there for you!
I'm sending lots of good vibes your way!!!

And the hospital.. His dad owns a carpet/floor cleaning business.. So even janitorial.. Heh. No College degrees, here.

Postal service is a good idea. If he's interested in that, PM me for some info... or else I'm sure he could call and find it out, but if he wants some starting info. to know if he's interested, I might have it 'cause that's where Eddie started working fairly recently. :)

Just reading through. Sorry to hear about your hubby. Do you have any temp agencies around you that he could register with?
Nekochanpurr

Hes trying not to do temp agencies yet, because he'd rather have a steady job he could stay with.. As a temp they can fire you at any time and don't have to give raises or anything..
And PMing you, lady!

More happy fun news! I had a nervous breakdown at work a few days ago. :snide: Yeah, feeling all kinds of embarrassed right now. With paying the dentist so much and everything, plus NOTHING going right, all week..... I go to work, and there is a tie thingy on my locker... Because i don't keep my lock on it when i'm not there. I get REALLY pissed and get the scissors to chop it so i can put my stuff away.. And just BAM. Like a million bricks, i start crying. So after i sign in one of the office people and a co-manager take me up to the office and let me calm down and stuff.. lol. I'm stupid. They, of course, wanted to know what was wrong, so i told them about the dentist stuff.. No way i was gunna tell the whole thing.. Specially while hiccuping and stuff. So um, yeah. I guess most people thought i was crying because they thought that the 'protection team (nazis)' threw some stuff that was in my locker away.. I didn't have anything IN my locker.. Why i took the lock home.....
Oh, and my mom got permently laid off. Awesome, huh? The good part of this is that she is going to go straight to the doc and see if she can get disablity.. Bad thing, she only has her insurance for a week. :snide: So thats happening on Monday. I really hope she gets it.. Shes always in pain with her feet.
Also, we had to put down my moms Tiger kitty the same day mom got laid off. He was there in the head, but he couldn't control his bladder/bowels anymore and walked funny from a possible stroke. He was about 17, and had to lay/sit a lot before going anywhere.. I miss Tig Tig.. Even though i know its whats best for him...
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c204/ChibiAiChan/My%20Pets/Picture027.jpg
from when he was a younger kitty..
Oh, and this might be a bit far.. Or maybe really close. If anyone lives in Detroit, Michigan, or at least watches the news.. You know about the big 3 problems. What do you thinks gunna be the first to go? Pensions. Guess what grandma lives on.. So yeah, if they take it away from her, Steve and i are packing up and moving into her attic/upstairs. Can't sell her house, can't make money on it.. So she couldn't move anywhere smaller or anything. So erm. Yeah. If that happens, we will be moving. Not letting grandma suffer.
In good news.. Windows was being a beast.. And my friends and i actually fixed it..... :innocent:

::Huggles:: i'm actually sick right now... But i'm starting to feel better.. I wanted to type more.. But i was kind of dying. lol.
My sis took me to Green Field Village in the Henry Ford. It was like a ghost town! It was nice though. The first time we could walk around and actually read the signs and everything without dealing with tons of people trying to get into the same space. We also got to chat with the workers a lot, which is nice. I'm totally thinking about getting a seasonal part time (second) job there. It was funny.. Its in Dearborn, but almost everyone we talked to lived in Garden City.. I was pretty amused. Dani also took me out to eat at the Tavern. Which was the first place that was ever put up in Green Field Village. They have people dressed up in there as well, and they serve you food like they would back in the day... Make the same kind of stuff, too. It was soooooo good, but a bit pricey. Think Applebees pricing. I have pictures.. I've just been too lazy to put them up.
Oh! While i'm talking about Green Field Village.. Something really awesome happened. They let us upstairs on the Wright House (you know, the Wright Brothers)!!!!! They haven't let people do that in YEARS. My sis and i almost ran because we are nosey, nosey people. Anyway.. Kind of sad. House hunting (eventually) will suck.. Because no house will ever compare to this one!!! LOL! Seriously, i love it.. A LOT. If i could move in, i would. lol!
Heres a website with pics of it: http://www.first-to-fly.com/Adventure/Expeditions/the_wright_home.htm
I really love old houses.. I don't want anything big, either.. Gotta think of heating and cooling that beast. So.. that house is the perfect size! I know i'll never have it though. XD Thats why i built it in the Sims (sad, i know).
Oh.. And something a bit crappy. They changed my schedule last minute at work. I did work 7:45-11:45 on Thanksgiving... Now i work 7-2. Not bad, i get more hours.. But man, i don't even get paid extra for working it. Yuck. I hope i get out just a bit early, though, so i can go to my cousins earlier and see them a bit more for Thanksgiving before going to Steves side...
Nekochanpurr
11-28-2008, 07:36 PM
Well, my thanksgiving was okay. Work was annoying!! They asked if i wanted to leave at one.. But then didn't let me leave until 2:10.. How is that for teasing someone?! Oh, and one of my managers was being blah. I have called him Dougie for months, and he just NOW told me to stop. Whatever, i was being nice. I wonder how he'll like it when i just say 'sir' and not even wave in his direction otherwise. Wouldn't want to get too close, he might feel bad for making us work for min wage or a bit over, while he makes like $15/16 for walking around and putting things away, then leaving the rest for us! I'm so done being nice to people. So sorry i'm not high enough to have fun with you. Must need to know my place, huh?
Went to my cousins house where we were having my families Thanksgiving. It was pretty nice.. But.. My brother was there. I really wish he would grow up. Seriously said hardly anything to any of us, then went upstairs and blasted the TV.. Even after my cousin had put her baby down. We could hear it on her baby monitor....
Went to Steve's moms sisters house next. Ate a bit there, as well. I kind of felt like family a bit more.. Kind of nice. It seems like they are trying to include me, but i understand.. We are kind of from different worlds. They are all pretty comfortable, if you know what i mean...
We then went to visit Steve's grandma and aunt on his dads side. We talked for a few hours, it was nice. I felt most comfortable over there....
Oh! I did get 32 hours this week!!! YAY money wise... But now its going to be a butt being there. Between the manager thing, the nervous breakdown (crying) thing, and the leaving late and knowing they did a boo boo thing. Sigh. Going to be one uncomfortable week.
Gunna try and get New Years Day off.. Heres hoping. I haven't asked for any of the others. I bet i get rejected anyway, though. =/ My luck has been that way. lol

arent they suppose to pay you time and a half for working a holiday. I would check into that stacey. I know even when i worked at the fast food places and kmart back in the day i got paid more on a holiday.

Nope! They don't pay us jack. When we 'earn' our holidays (which takes years to get them all, BTW) we'll get a paid day we aren't working. So sometime this week I'll have an extra 4 hours on my paycheck. =P I think i earned Thanksgiving...

I looked it up and it's so lame for you Stacy! "Holiday pay in Michigan is completely up to the individual employer. Companies are not required by Michigan law or by federal law to provide paid holidays or to pay overtime for employees who work on holidays." That super sucks. But at least it's done now!

Yeah. Need the money though.. So i'm not requesting holidays off! We have been closing around 5, anyway.. So i think thats pretty reasonable. Last yr we didn't even close Thanksgiving! Its up to the manager... And we just switched um. lol
I DID ask off New years day though.. Thought that was pretty far. I'm gunna need a drink by then. Heh.
Oh, and sign of the times.. Mom went to the unemployment office today.. She was number 171... They were on.. 71. o.o;

wow i did not know michigan law has that!
That is so dumb! first you are giving up time on a holiday to work instead of being at home or with family!
I know we have to earn holiday hours paid (like thanksgiving) we are closed but i get paid for it. I think it took me a year for it. I think we only get 2 paid days when we are closed (only closed 3 days a year) I think Easter is unpaid though.
Hang in there Stacey
sorry to hear about your mom, i hope things get better for you.

The way it works at our store is that if we have to work the holiday (yes, have to), then they will give us another day off during that week, paid.
And its cool. Not much i can do about it, anyway. lol. I just feel bad cuz Christmas is gunna suck. i had peoples presents all picked out. :( And we had to dip into our savings.. Kind of a lot. Because Steve STILL hasn't got his unemployment checks yet.
In happier news, Kroger ice cream was on sale. :D Mmm.. Vanilla bean.

So, Steve's brothers car broke down.. As in.. Completely died. Guess who's car they are borrowing!! Yeah, me and Steve are gunna be sharing a car for a couple days. Not complaining too much, though.... Least i won't have to wipe the windows full of snow after my shift!
Oh oh, and i got my Christmas stuff up.... My tree is kind of gumpy, though. =/ Me thinks i need a new one... That'll happen, eventually.
Oh, and i have money in my account!! Well, kinda. But enough where i can actually go out and buy boots! Heres hoping i can find some cheap but well made ones.. The richy rich stores that wanted like $80-100 for boots can KISS MY BOOTY! I ain't paying for some name. I just want warm feet. lol
Oh.. And i really hope we get Steve's unemployment check tomorrow.. Or we might very well have a bounced check on our hands.. Gosh darn it. >.<
Oh, and i wish i could breath. Stupid allergy asthma strikes again! And i ran out of one of my inhalers.. Gunna get it tomorrow. :( I needs it now though....

Ok.. So maybe i spoke too soon! Steve called this morning to check the status of his check...... And it said he had never made an inquiry and still had the same amount of weeks. Needless to say, we have an app. to meet with them Monday morning. :( I'm really broke guys, this sucks. My credit card is my friend at this point. lol And i NEVER use my credit card...
In other news, i might get a hair cut. I got a coupon from borics for $3 off. Heres the reference pics i might use..

What do you guys think?? I figure its time for a change. Can't really afford it, but it might make me feel better. lol
Super cute hair do! I think a change will do some good, it will make you feel like a new person! Go for it!

Um. Oh yes. Sometime this week we will be going back to Greenfield Village for Holiday nights. SO MUCH FUN! They have everything set up for Christmas, its soooo pretty. It helps Dani has season passes so i can get in for free.. heh.

Well, Steve went into unemployment. He'll get his check on Weds/Thurs.. And then 2 more next week.. But we aren't sure how that'll work, since it'll be Christmas week and all.. I felt bad for him, though. I guess the guy he talked to didn't like him or something.. He was yucking it up with all the black guys, then he didn't even give Steve a smile. wtf? o.o;
I guess we are going to Holiday nights at greenfield village on Friday.. Since they are stupid and only do it on weekends.. >.< They are kind of pricey, too.. Sigh. Least i get to go...
And i still need to get a hair cut. lol

So um.. Life hates me. I heard from a co-worker who works at customer service the other day... We are gunna have the big wigs coming in almost EVERY day next week.. To see if we get a remodel or a store close. =/ Luckily, i have 3 years with this company now, so i could try and get into another Kroger with my seniority if this were to happen.. But you have to imagine that if EVERYONE in my store was trying to get transferred some where.. :ooh:
It doesn't help Steve is still on unemployment. Right now his factory is only giving 32 hours a week (we learn this from his Grandma, who still has a job) and there are only 19 of the 47 workers there at the moment...
Gah. I'm stressing out! Are we going to have to use up our savings again that i was so excited about? We finally hit $1,000 again. :( I want my danged house!!! This is really depressing me. I really hope that my coworker heard wrong or something.. but until then.. Gooooo remodel.. :whyme:
val24
01-27-2009, 11:23 AM
i hope you do get a remodel on the store. how old is the store? how many kroger do you have in the area? Do you think if you transfer you might get more hours or something?
good luck and i hope they remodel
i hear you about the savings, we are in the same boat, everytime we finally get ahead something always knocks us back down. my hubby is laid off also.

01-27-2009, 12:44 PM
Its this darn economy. :(
I won't transfer unless they decide to shut the place down. We have 3 Krogers within 3 miles.. One used to be a Farmer Jack. I trained a lot of the people in the one that used to be Farmer Jack, so i have more seniority than a lot of them do.. So i'd be able to move to their store, most likely. Unless everyone else had the same reasoning at my store. =/ I believe our store is around 25 years old.
And yeah.. It seems like it happens every time. >.< Good luck to you and thank you for the well wishes!

Um... So.. Steve and i were bad. We got a new TV... A new, 37 in TV. o.o; Totally worth it, though! The original price was $599, and we got it for $352. XD Its my baby.

Yay for getting a new tv! My mom also wants to splurge on a new tv 'cause theirs is pretty small.
Did you get any news about the store?

02-02-2009, 12:20 PM
Not yet. Its getting mighty annoying. :snide: If the higher ups had their way, we wouldn't even be talking about it.They'd probably just shut us down without letting any of us know. I just wish i knew one way or the other!! Grr.
