What's everyone getting their Mom's for Mother's Day?
I don't want to do the last minute thing, so I want to get it this weekend!

Brian and I are going to have someone take a wedding pic of us at the wedding (which is the day before) with our moms and while we are at the house for the reception, my daughter (who happens to be a computer whiz) is going to print them out and put them into these pretty picture frames we bought. We are going to give them to our moms before the reception is over because I doubt we will get to see them before we leave for our honeymoon.

I haven't even thought about it. I usually just get a card, maybe lunch. I have a hard time finding cards too ... most are all mushy [i]'Thanks for always being there and for all you taught me"[i] blah, blah ... My mother and I don't have that kind of relationship. Yeah I love her but I don't feel that way about her.

I have NO clue... i bought a card yesterday cause i was thinking about it.
What do you get someone who has practically everything?! Maybe i will take her for dinner and a movie. A whole girls day out.

What I'd like to do is a Day at the Spa with me, my mom and my MIL.... But it's probably quite expensive.

Well I had an idea. We went down to visit my parents about 2 weeks ago and I took pictures of my mom's new kittens. I was going to put a picture on a tea cup for her since she collects them. But I couldn't get a good picture of both of them.

My Mother who is 76 and lives in Surprise, Arizona is visiting her Mother who is 98 and living in Muskogee, Oklahoma. When my Mother gets back to Arizona, we (my 2 older sisters, and my little brother) will probably all buy her gifts and do the lunch or dinner thing.

My Mom & Dad were married for 52 years before my Dad died in 2001. She still misses him terribly though. He was the most wonderful Daddy in the whole world. We still cry when we talk about him.

Wait! When is Mother's day? lol. If its this weekend my mom will be here. If not I'll call her and tell her to have a good one but probably nothing more as Mother's day is a hard thing on me.

Ha ha! See how outta touch and in denial I am about the day!! lol. I didn't even have a clue when it is. I think I'll just call my mom, she hasn't exactly been a back bone for me lately!

I usually send my mom flowers and get her a plant for her garden.

Danny's Mom I am not sure about. I was thinking about sending her flowers if she is working that day. And we will hint around and see if there is anything that she has been wanting.

I don't bother with cards most of the time cause they all say the same thing year after year. The only thing that changes is the ungodly price they charge for them!!

For some reason I always find Father's day so much easier to buy for. How bout you all which is easier to come up with a gift for?

I have a little bit better relationship with my father, he always tries to be supportive and he is happy with anything I do for him. So yeah, I guess Father's Day is easier for me.

Mother's Day also reminds me of DH's mother who is passed, whe was such a great woman and I miss her. Sometimes I wish my mother could be more like she was.

 I def get along better with my Dad than my Mom. My Dad and I always go deep sea fishing for Father's day. So I never have to think of something to get him. It's a great tradition for us. We both love it!

Sad but I have to say I consider my FMIL more of a Mother to me than my own Mom. My Mom raised me for 17 years and when I moved in with Danny that year my Mom hasn't really been much of a Mother since. Every year we seem to grow farther and farther apart no matter how hard I try not to. I hardly ever hear from her at all. I have pretty much given up trying. It seems as I grow older she tries to grow younger?? Danny's Mom is just awesome. I couldn't ask for a better FMIL.

Sorry I guess that's enough rambling! Didn't mean to hijack the thread or anything. :D
