Hey all.

I have been planning to have my wedding on April 11th, 2009 for about...ah... 6 months, and have just recently realized that it is the day before Easter! Too late to change the date now as we have all major things booked (church, hall, photog, DJ, etc...), plus, our 'Save the Dates' are waiting in the wings to be sent, already made :bbeek:! This situation has gotten increasingly difficult because we are getting married in a church, and the Easter flowers are delivered that day (sometime)... and the night before is the Tenebrae service, so we will have to do the rehearsal a few days ahead instead of the night before.

I'm thinking that this will work out somehow though... the hall that we are having our reception at is allowing us to decorate the night before, so if the rehearsal is out of the way, then we can just concentrate on getting the hall ready that night. Then, Sat. morning, we can get the church ready!

I sort've feel bad about the date now, and I hope that it doesn't disrupt anyones Easter plans for the next day. Our reception is scheduled to end around 10:00pm, so it's not going to be really late or anything.. but I still have that nagging feeling in the back of my mind that it is going to be an inconvenience for some.

Anyhow, I just wanted to get you ladies' opinion on ideas that could incorporate a few fun aspects of Easter somehow, I was thinking of placing a PEEP at each place setting, and maybe having a few bowls of Cadbury Eggs sitting around and such. Since it is the day before Easter, hopefully people will enjoy that and get in the Easter mood! I want to keep it as light hearted as possible, while still maintaining a little class :grinhappy:.

Thanks in advance for any ideas or advice!

-Nicole

Are you allowing children at your reception? If you are, you could do an easter egg hunt! In fact, you could even do it with the adults, sticking money into all the eggs, and maybe (if it's in your budget) a $100 bill in one.

Yep, there are actually going to be a bunch of little kids there, good idea!

We have fairly tight budget, but the idea of putting a more 'adult' prize into the eggs is a great idea too.

Although we are covering the beer for our guests, we aren't having a totally open bar (I only wish!).. so maybe a mixed drink coupon or something of that sort?... I'll have to think on it .
