Our Wedding day! 8/16/08

We are back from our honeymoon and I can't sleep so I thought I would share our wedding day! It was a wonderful day!

The Friday night before the wedding we had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. It all went well. Except that the music that I burned on a CD for the ceremony would not burn. My DJ (my moms cousin) brought his laptop and we were actually able to download some of the music at the church onto his laptop. Once we had that done the show was on the road. After about an hour we were all ready and we headed out to dinner. My DJ stopped by my house after dinner to get a couple more songs that he needed for the ceremony. The only other thing was that it was about 100 degrees that day and we had borrowed a hummer from Max's work and on our way to the church the AC stopped working!! Luckily we were two minutes from home so we dropped it off and grabbed my car. It was so HOT that we had to take a car with AC otherwise we would have been sweating!! So, that night I told Max he couldn't stay the night in our house. I just wanted the whole you cant see me before the wedding. (Even though we did pics before the ceremony! We did a special first shot photo) So, he stayed at my brother and sister in laws place while my sister in law stayed with me at our house.

On our wedding day morning my sister in law and I woke up at about 7ish and got up and got ready to go. I really excited to get the day started! We went to my moms house about 830 and my hairdresser who is a really good friend was already there waiting for me! She started working on my hair about 9 while my mom made us breakfast! She did a wonderful job on my hair and it was exactly how I wanted it. I couldn't have been happier. She was so worried because we didn't do a trial hair run but I had complete faith in her. We had done a trial hair run with a different hairstyle but it didn't fit me. I was so happy with my hair and make up. (I am going to try and load a few pictures in) Also it was at least 100 degrees this day! One of the hottest days of the year!!!

So, we left my parents house around 2pm and headed to the church! We got to the church and just had to put out a few things. I set up the unity candle and then had some friends get the programs organized and our florist showed up with all the flowers! They were more beautiful then I could imagine! They were everything I wanted them to be! My MIL showed up and she gave me a quilt that she had been making since Feb! It is really beautiful and I love it. Then I went up stairs and my flower girl and ring bearer showed up so we started getting them ready.

He was so adorable! I have many more of him. I hope to get some more of my flower girl. They were so adorable during the rehearsal I was hoping they would be the same way on the day of the wedding. My cousin told me that my ring bearer didn't get a nap and I was worried but while we were busy taking pictures and getting ready before the ceremony he took an hour nap! I didn't even know it!

Then my photographer shows up and she tells me I put the wrong number for the church on the invitation! I couldn't believe it! This caused some problems! I put 155 instead of 115. I still can't believe I did that and I still feel bad because some people got lost but we did have signs on the road. They were turning left instead of right but the sign was right there! Ugh... but that was the worst thing and most people made it to the church. And we started 20 minutes late giving more people time to get there! I still feel stupid about it but oh well!

So, did I mention it was 100 degrees that day? And the church was AC but not that well. We had little hand fans for people so that would help a little bit.

OMG, I almost forgot. So, we took professional pics before the wedding ceremony. Well, I snuck back upstairs before people came into the church. Well, my two MOH's came up with me and I really had to go to the bathroom but my dress was way to big. So, the plan was for both of them to hold it up while I went. HAHA, I made them sing to me so they couldn't hear me go. Anyway, while my sis in law was pulling up my dress we hear this clink clink, oh ****! She had Max's ring on her finger and it slide and fell off into the toilet before I could go! I could not believe and neither could she! All three of us were in total hystrics cracking up! She was like I'll get it! Luckily the water was clean. So she got it out and washed it all up and then I got to go to the bathroom! I wish I had pictures of it. But I think that made me calm way down. I just couldn't believe it and neither could so.

So, we head down and get the ceremony started. I found out that Max's sister was really lost but the ceremony had already started and it was already late so we just went. He was ok with it because it was already so late. I felt really bad but she said we made it for the kiss.


We watched the wedding video tonight and I thought I looked nervous in the video but at the time I didn't really feel nervous. Here are some quick pictures of the ceremony. Battery is about to die. I will be back tomorrow to post more!!! I hope everyone enjoys them!

I had a problem with my side taper candle for the unity candle. It would not stay in and you can't see it in the picture but when I let go of it the candle was totally leaning. I was so afraid it was going to fall over it but it didn't. And I didn't know this buy my Grandma went up after the ceremony and blew them out so it wouldn't fall over!! It was kind of funny but scary.

Thanks! There was just so much going on that day that I don't want to forget anything. So, we had an aisle runner down and then our florist put fake rose petals all around it. Well, I guess the owner of the church didn't want us to put an aisle runner down or put the rose petals but the florist said she was going to do it anyway and if she had a problem with it that she would deal with her. Well, the lady at the church never said anything to us and we even got our deposit back. He he... the florist came back and cleaned all the rose petals up and everything. I wish I had a good picture of it because it was so pretty. Hopefully our photographer was able to get one.

We borrowed a hummer from DH's work and we took that from the church to our reception site. We also signed the marriage license on the hood of it. Which was kind of fun!
