I haven't priced anything around, but my dress came from David's Bridal and I remember they had the price chart for alterations on the dressing room wall. My dress needs to be altered as well and my mother said she thinks we can get it cheaper at an independent seemstress that she knows does really nice work.

Alot of it will depend on the amount of labor that will go into the dress being altered. Mine is going to be more expensive to get hemmed due to the fact of all the lace and beading I have on my dress.

I'm not exactly sure, but I know that a friend of mine bought her wedding dress from there for about $150.00, and she spent more on the alterations than on the dress, plus they screwed it up and made it too short. So, good luck...hopfully that was just the store she went through!!!

My dress cost $225 for alterations!! I think it depends on the dress and how much work needs to be done!! :)

Yeah I'm assuming mine will cost a pretty penny to be altered too.

I'm thinking they must order the dresses a bit too big. My dress was so big on me the sales girl was really concerned, she asked if i had lost weight. I had a goos 2-3inches that needed to be brought in at the bust after it was all laced up. That just seems wrong.

I've heard of places that do that to get money on alterations. I bought mine on the rack so at least they couldn't do that, but mine needed altering anyway.
