Hey guys. I am getting married in Aug. and we are trying to find a honeymoon destination. I wanted to go to a Sandals resort but i am afraid of the horrible weather that comes in Aug. Does anyone have any suggestions about a nice all inclusive couples resort that might not have good weather. also were thinking of a cruise but the bad weather thing again.

Welcome to the group Michelle!! You will find LOTS of ideas here!! The ladies are great!!!
I think we are going to Mexico for our honeymoon, but won't be doing an all inclusive thing. We have a friend who owns a condo there.
But I am sure that the ladies here can give you several ideas!! They have been a HUGE help to me in the few months that I have been on here.

Welcome, Michelle! Nice to have you here. We also are going to Mexico, but on a cruise. You won't have to worry about the weather as much there.

The Sandals resorts have a hurricane guarantee. It wouldn't be much fun to have your honeymoon cancelled, but with the guarantee you would get a credit to go back another time.

Oh, thanks. I didn't know that they had something like that. Maybe we can go there after all/

We just came back from Sandals in St. Lucia, and it was paradise! I would suggest this place to every single person I meet.
We've decided to go back there every 5th anniversary.

To avoid hurricane prone places in August you will have to avoid the whole Carribean all together, including Mexico. You would also have to avoid Texas, Lousiana, Mississppi, Alabama, Florida, and so forth. Not that you would want to honeymoon there anyway. There are risks anywhere you go. I'm not sure, but I think Hawaii does not get hurricanes. However, I believe Hawaii is more expensive than the Carribean.

Yeah what she said :bblol:
We went on a cruise to the Bahamas in April of last year. If was fun and the weather was nice but, I don't think we are cruise people.
Like Kacie said, there are risks everywhere and you are right about August is right in the middle of Hurricane season. I would call a travel agent (and/or the people at the resort) that knows more about the area you are looking at going to.

We are going to Mexico. A couple of my friends have gone to Costa Rica. They say its a must and it was sooooo amazing. If i could change our honey moon destination now i would probably go there instead.

We've got a trip to florida. But we are waiting until after hurricane season to go. So we are going to take some weekend trips arround the province. Go see niagra falls, go to Algonquin Park, spend a weekend in downtown toronto etc. We're going to get some tickets to see some shows and such. It will be very nice. Then Florida will be a nice break in the spring after the long cold winter.

My FSIL is going to a Sandel's resort for her honeymoon. She is also getting married in August. They do have a wonderful hurrican deal. Even if the hurrican hits on your last day there, you get another full week for free! Can't beat that!

Sandal's claim to fame is that they cater to honeymooners, and believe me, they really did!!

We had some friends a couple of years ago that had to cut their honeymoon short in Florida because of one of the hurricanes.
