Just curious. I don't like to wash with anything with a really strong scent and I don't like anything that smells like fruit which seems to be half the stuff out there. My newest is Softsoap Nutra-Oil in the almond something, it's the orange label. (There's also a green label and I like that too.) This stuff is so nice. It makes my skin feel smooth and it has the lightest, prettiest scent. Anyway, was just wondering what soap/shower gel you guys use. Any recommendations?

My mom sells Avon, so I have a ton of different scents of that in both bar and liquid form. They've got all different kinds of shower gels, and they're kind of need 'cause they've got a curve on them so you can hang them on the shower rod. And then I've also got some liquid Irish Spring, and I sometimes will just use FH's bar stuff (Irish Spring). I love the smell of it, even if it's not all that girly, haha.

My recommendation to you, if you don't like fruity smells or smells that are very strong is Avon's Skin So Soft. Their bar soap makes your skin really soft, and it's got a fairly light smell to it. The pink one is the best. The blue one smells a bit too masculinely strong for me, and the yellow one is citrus. They've also got those in body wash. If you don't know anyone that sells it, they have a search feature on their site where you can find sellers in your area. It's pretty nifty.

I love Dial's White Tea and Vitamin E glycerin soap. It smells soooooo good...and it's not too strong on my skin.

I also like Yardley of London's Oatmeal and Almond and English Lavender.

I love Dove products!

I usually get the sensitive skin type in the bar but I've recently started getting it with the free trial sized of the body wash, for when I go somewhere overnight and its easier to throw a bottle of body wash in a bag than keeping up with a bar of soap.

I also bought some Caress Tahitian something, something,(can't remember the full name, lol) body wash for using on those mornings when I just can't wake up.

I agree with WB&Me I don't like strongly scented soaps & body washes either. Doves Energy Glow bar (I think its light yellow packaging) smells really nice and does help "open your eyes" in the morning.

I have really dry and sensative skin so I can't use all those heavy frangranced products.

I use Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash most of the time -

I will also use the Dove fragrance free body wash for sensitive skin -

I'm currently using Bath & Body Works sensual amber body wash (http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2655181&cp=2484525.3041977&view=all&parentPage=family). I also have some Soft Soap shea butter body wash that I sometimes use. Neither of them have an overpowering scent, I don't think, but they both smell really good.

I am a dove (original scent) girl ... not because of what it does or does not do (I could bathe in turpentine and my skin would not be affected) and not because of their marketing but, because when I was a little girl, my grandmother had this soap. Every time I entered her bathroom it always smelled so good!

Every once in a while I will buy ivory for the same reasons.

Anything that can cover up my man smell is fine with me. But I do prefer some Irish Spring.

I agree Elizabeth, my MawMaw always used Ivory soap and smelled so good! I don't use it b/c for some reason (maybe we have soft water?) it doesn't rinse away like Dove, for this same reason I love Lava Soap:) My Papa was an avid fisher, hunter, fixer-upper. And always used this soap to get the "mess" off. So now everytime I see it (Fh had some in his home the first time I was over and sappy me it almost brought tears to my eyes)

Smell makes for powerful memories.

BTW - what background does MawMaw come from? We had a client that called her grandmother MawMaw too and I had never heard of that term before :) It's cute!

My kids have a Mamere (but they call her Nanny) and Papere (French Canadian)

I can't stand perfumes either. I had bought a big pack of Dove Sensitive Skin from Sam's back when we had a membership. It was an ok deal. But we're over Sam's now.

But ya know what I buy now? 3-packs of Pure & Natural at the Dollar Tree. 33¢ a bar! No fuss for me. With my bar soap I have the option of just using it without my loofah thing or with. I don't need to scrub everyday.

I remember Mamere & Papere from my french in highschooL:)

I don't know where MawMaw, came from. We've just always called her that.
Unless it had something to do with she grew up calling her Gramma Mama, and her mother, Mother. My mom and her sisters alternate(depends on the severity of the conversation:grinhappy:) between calling Mawmaw, Mama or Mother, so maybe she was trying to get us to call her Mama as babies and that is what resulted?
I don't know, we've always called our mama's Mama, so I don't think that wouldve worked anyway:grinhappy:

Its really funny, we have(had) three Grandpa's b/c my Dad's mom was married twice; so on Daddy's side we had Gramma Dell(dad's mom) Grampa Sprinkle(Dad's dad) Pepaw (Gramma Dell's 2nd husband) & Gramma Glenda (grampa sprinkle's second wife)
and on Mama's side we have(had) MawMaw (mom's mom) & Pawpaw williams(moms dad)it was always a pile at Christmas & holidays but everyone always made room for one another (Gramma Dell & Pepaw married late in life so I guess they figured it was easier for everyone to get along and be a big happy family than to hold onto old grievances etc.)

Right now I've got 4 in the shower. FH hates it!

1) VS Squeaky Pink (love this stuff!)
2) Bath & Body Sensual Amber
3) Givenchy Hot Couture (when I want lots of scent)
4) Caress something with Oil....it's a yellow bottle, something Exotic Oils?

I've got about 30 more bottles under the sink in the guest bathroom. I hit the Bath & Body sales hardcore.

I have a cinnamon oat bar and an avocado coconut bar in the shower. They're both from the health store with just a few minimal, all natural ingredients. The oat bar does a good job of exfoliating and the avocado bar is very moisturizing.

I use L'Occitane Shea Butter soap. They have a "scent" called Milk, which is scentless. The shea is also moisturizing. I love it!

Lately I've been using Caress a lot. The soap of choice for the past couple weeks is liquid, called someting Cashmere. It's really nice and the smell isn't that strong.

Otherwise, I'll use the Japanese Exotic Oils one.

I use Caress soap, and really anything for a body wash. Right now I have cranberry crush from Ulta. I love the fruit smelling ones anything with a flowery smell puts my sinuses into overdrive.

I like the new Ivory body washes. The kind with the touch of aloe is really good and soft-smelling. But I like to switch up my body washes, so now I have this tangerine stuff that's also pretty good. But I may very well go back to Ivory eventually.

This is a bit OT, but for shampoo I've used this Organix shampoo and conditioner that smells like espresso. I like to joke that I get my morning coffee by dumping it on my head.

My skin can't handle soap that's been packed with fakey preservatives and whatnot, so I try to find the most natural soaps I can. Glycerin is another thing that my skin doesn't like, although depending on what else is in the soap it can tolerate it sometimes.

I mostly use completely natural (no preservatives or dyes or perfumes or 'agents' or anything -- just soap and natural oils/stems/herbs/leaves whatever) soaps that I buy at my local Renaissance Faire or Rendevouz. 6 soap bars last a whole year! I like lavender, oatmeal and almond, vanilla, and cucumber/oatmeal. These soaps are generally made from cold-pressed olive oil and don't leave that wierd film on my skin, like Ivory does.

I am lucky because there's a natural soap place at the Mall of America (a mere 20 minute drive from me) that *also* has those totally natural soaps, so if I run out, all is not lost.

For some reason, my skin is also perfectly happy with Bath and Body Works' Japanese Cherry Blossom shower gel. Who knew? I love the fact that I can smell the subtle scent on my body all day, but that it's not overpowering. I suspect that the shower gel hasn't got a ton of unnatural ingredients in it, so my skin is ok with it.

Most of all baby's soap has neutral pH that gently cleanses children's and adult's skin without removing its natural protective barrier. Besides, it creates soft scented foam which rinses easily, leaving the skin fresh and resilient

Right now I'm obsessed with ivory and its original scent. I love the simple, no frills scent. It's perfect for this jeans and t-shirt girl.

I like Dove bars, but I also use body wash. I'll buy whatever scent appeals to me when I go shopping- I love Dove, Oil of Olay, and my favorite for summer is Lever 2000. It smells so fresh!

Homemade!! The only time I buy soap from the store is when the new batch of homemade soap hasn't cured yet and I am all out - even then I buy the handmade bars in the natural/organic section. The soap my MIL makes has a bunch of different oils in it, and is sooo moisturizing I can even use it to shave my legs with!

Sensitive skin girl here--I usually use Aveeno with no fragrance.
