I believe I am rehashing this, but would be unheard of to have my bach. party and bridal shower on the same weekend (shower first of course) about a month or two prior to the wedding?? My sister, and FMiL will have to come out of state for them.

Sounds like it would make alot of sence since you have people coming from out of state.

I agree. Have the shower during the day and the party that night!

That's what I was thinking, since alot of the same girls will be at both.

If you have your shower a little later in the afternoon, you could have it start as one and end as the other.

Youre right it does make sense to do it that way. Because these people will come in for this and then again for the wedding.......dont know how bad it is for yall, but gas here is OUTRAGEOUS! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_19_2.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm414CPUS)

I just paid $2.89/gallon this afternoon! I heard on the news this morning that oil went up to $72 a barrel. Scarey.

I dunno what the conversion is, but they are speculating it will go up to $1.50/L over the summer. It's over a dollar now.... its horrifying for everyone.

1 gallon = 3.7854 liters. If I've done my calculations correct that means a 15 gallon tank here at $2.89 would cost $43.35 to fill up. That same gas tank in liters is 56.78 liters. At $1.50 per liter that would cost $85.17 to fill up. That is horrible! I want to know, though, aren't Canadian dollars different than American dollars? I think I've heard this, and on everything they sell there is an American price and then the Canadian price and the Canadian one is always higher. For instance this George Forman cookbook is $14 here and in Canada it is $21.50.

yeah the canadian dollar is worth less then the american dollar! Getting money for our honey moon in hawaii almost cleaned out our bank account!! lol. we should just do what Europe did and adopt somehting like the Euro...only call it the north american dollar or something. lol

When I started driving in 1972, I can remember going to one gas station and the cost was .25 cents a gallon. I told the guy (they pumped for you in those days) that I wanted one gallon and he said, "do you want to burn it here or take it with you?" I will always remember that. Now gas is almost $3 a gallon. Now that's inflation!

OMG, Lacey, are you saying it costs you $120 to fill up your car?!?!?!!? Are you serious? I swear to God, if I had to pay that, I would get personally acquainted with the bus route. I have a hard time just paying the $35 to fill my Ford Fusion up. Geez!!!!

No no no! It only cost me $40 to fill up my car. But, it gets good mileage on that. Even if it did cost $120 though I would still be stuck. Pittsbrugh has horrible mass transit. I couldn't ride a bus or trolley to work even if I wanted to. I lived in DC for a couple of years and NEVER drove my car unless it was to come home ot visit. With the metro system there you never need to.

You know it's a sad commentary in America when we say that if it cost $120 to fill up our tanks, we're stuck. That just goes to show how much the oil companies control our lives. It pisses me off. The next time I buy a car, it won't use gas to drive it. I'm sick and tired of being dependent on the cost of oil. When is it all going to stop?!?!?!?!?

Ugh, yesterday i paid $106.5/L CDN. for gas. It was sad. My tank was only a 1/4 full but i knew i needed to get it before i went out for the day with my FSiL. I have an Hyundai Accent so my tank isn't to big. But still it cost me $30.00.
We are going to need to get a van or SUV at some point because this 2 door thing isn't going to work when we have a family. But i would like to look into getting a Pontiac Vibe. They look like they could have the storage of a van(ish) but the size and weight of a car.

Now a days vans are getting so that are as good if not better then some cars! Thats why we've been looking into them!

Karen, as far as public transit, I'm tough out of luck! There's no transit here and I absoluetly refuse to take them after someone was beaten to death on a bus near where my parents live!! Plus I took transit to junior high and HATED it!! You always have to sit beside some stinky person! lol

There is no mass transit here either. In Houston they have the bus and the new metro rail, but you still have to drive an avg of 30 minutes to get to the park and ride. The only neighborhoods they have bus stops in is inner city ghetto places. I wouldn't want to wait on those bus stops anyway. A lot of the bus stops aren't even covered so you get sun burned or if it is raining you would get wet. As for the new metro rail it is really only a downtown thing. Mass transit in the Houston area really focuses on downtown only. However, I try to stay away from Houston as much as possible. It is an hour drive for me to get there. When I go the mall or something I tend to want to go to Beaumont instead. I can get there in 35-45 minutes anway.

I filled up here in NH and most places were saying $2.86 but I found one gas station for $2.79. It cost me $28.50 to fill my little plymout neon. That was insane for me. I can not wait till we are in town. We will be savign about $150 or more a month on gas. That will be soooo great.

I think I forgot to mention that my husbands truck costs us about $150 to fill. Yup, I guess we suffer because we are hicks and won't let our trucks go! Though now there is a Jeep that runs on diesel and I'm seriously beginning to think that maybe we should start driving diesels again! Yeah sure they stink, but at least they are cheaper to run but still have more power than a gas powered vehicle. Man, I live in one of the richest oil areas in Canada and we still get screwed at the pumps!!

Its stupid and ridiculous really but my DH's whole family drives a truck or suv except his spoiled brat SIL who drives a mercedes but we won't go there. Lol. besides driving a dodge IS driving a mercedes because Dodge is part of merceded...lol. But yeah, it'd be easier if we could put farm fuel in our trucks but we moved off the farm last october and we can't have farm plates any more now that we are living in town!! D'oh! lol

I live around lots of oil too and we get screwed. About diesels, I like them. I don't think they stink. Maybe it is because I'm used to them. Justin drives one, my parents have had them, and pretty much every guy I ever dated in my life had one. Oh, and I'm an AG major so most of my classmates drive them. I like the way they sound too!

i've been around them all my life as well! In fact I worked in a auto garage as a parts person and was almost going to become a mechanic. I still think they stink though! lol. I guess its when you have to sit the same building as them and inhale their fumes all day long and it makes you sick is when you start to hate them! My DH is like you and loves the smell of diesel! I like the smell of diesel now because it is now the smell of saving money! lol
