Football preseason has begun. My fiance is a huge football fan, and I am.... not. Not even a little. Our team isn't even playing tonight, and he's watching. Grrrr. At least I'll have class every other Sunday, hopefully those are all game days and I miss the game, haha. Anyone else in my boat, or are you sports fans like my fiance (or both of you not sports fans)?

I'm a HUGE sports fan. A bigger one than my FH. I will usually watch sports all day if there's any on. The FH gets frustrated because sometimes I'd rather watch sports than talk to him...whoops.

I'm so thankful that I don't have to deal with that. I just don't have the patience and I'm absolutely not a sports fan. I'm the kind who never knows who is playing or cares who wins. :ooh: I've never been attracted to the guy's guy, ya know. Sports, cars...no thanks, I'll take a semi-metrosexual who likes art museums! LOL

I can totally relate. I think FH had a countdown to preseason football. I must say though, that he sorta has gotten me into it. I can stand to watch one or 2 games with him a weekend. But definitely not every single game.

And when we visit his brother, forget it. It's like they are speaking another language when they talk about who has been traded to who, and who is signed and who isn't, and who will be rookie of the year, and who'll be the first rookie to get to play. It makes my head spin!

At least he can be preoccupied with football while I'm preoccupied with the wedding. LOL

Yep my FH will watch any Sport. He'd watch Synchronised Knitting if it was a Sport :bbeek:

The Football Season is here too. Oops i mean Soccer. Plus the Olympics start today so Heaven Help Us. :ooh:

I'm off to Mow the Lawn and watch it re-grow LOL.

Both FH and I are HUGE sports fans! Of course we have the Colts (GO BLUE!), great minor league baseball and hockey teams (Indians and Ice), the Pacers and the WNBA team the Fever. And we're MASSIVE race fans. Mostly IndyCar, but I do love NASCAR too. Hockey, basketball, football, baseball, all awesome! The only one I don't do is golf. Just like you Mitch I'd rather watch my grass regrow, because it's just about the same thing!

FH isn't a big sports fan but he likes to watch the Cage Match Fights ( I forget what exactly they call it but its like street fighting) and NASCAR
I can watch both for awhile, but if the fights get to gruesome I'm ready to turn it & if there's no wrecks or drama or funny comentary from the annoucers I'm ready to change it off the race too.

We are sports fans. I like watching football, he isn't too much into that but he will watch. We are huge into Drag Racing. We have friends that race professionally and we both race as well. I also like to watch Nascar. I'm a big gear head myself. :)

FH is a big sports fan and I do enjoy watching football. Most of the time the games are on I am working though!

Maybe the ladies who don't enjoy it can start a "Football Season Widows" support group.:D

Neither of us likes to watch sports on TV. We both like watching Ultime Fighting so we watch that together. The future hubby races cars semi-professionally so we also watch Formula 1 but generally not Nascar.

I never had to put up with someone wanting to sit in front of the TV all day and watch sports but I can imagine that it can be a downer especially if it is on a weekend and you would rather be out doing something.

Girls let me share with you some wisdom that I've picked up over the years of being married to 3 sports nuts.

If you can't beat them, Join them!

They are not going to change. Trust me. You can talk to them till you're blue in the face cause all they are going to hear is....blah blah blah blah blah.

My suggestion to you is figure out who his teams greatest rival is and root for them. Drives them crazy.
Talk about how cute the players butts are and ask him why can't his look like that. Drives them crazy.
Sit there with them and read a book. Don't look up when they ask you if that play wasn't the greatest of all time. Say uh huh. Drives them crazy.
Sit next to him while he is watching the game and kiss him, blow in his ear, rub his chest, all those little things that drive him crazy and maybe during half time you might get lucky.

Thank goodness I like football, but I'm never going to be a dallas fan and I'm willing to watch 3 games every Sunday just so I can spend time with RC. He will talk to me during the game and I get a kiss everytime there is a touchdown.

Hang in there girls.

Aww Heather I'm sorry. But I love love love football and am really excited for the season, especially since my dad and I are trying to get tickets to a Razorbacks game this year.

I grew up a Cowboys fan-can't help it, I was born that way, I'm afraid. I do want to throw things at Jessica Simpson though, for being a publicity hound and such.

I love the Olympics, and really want the women's gymnastics team to beat the Chinese on their home turf, especially since China probably has underage girls competing-under the 16-year minimum, I mean. All the gymnasts, at least female, are darn young. I don't think there's one American girl who is even legally old enough to drink.

See this is where I am so happy FH is a total geek! Though he watches Myth busters like any other guy would football... I'm ok with it until he starts watching the same freaking episode over and over again! That and Family guy, he can quote almost every episode! So it might be as bad as football lol

At my bridal shower they played a game called How well does the Bride know the groom and they all had to guess out of 21 questions how many I would get right.

The only one I got wrong was "what is the grroms fave team" the answer was he doesn't have one! Which is the truth! But apparently he pulled some team name out of his hat when answering the questions lol

I guess I have just lucked out with a man who is interested in helping me design things, cares about his style, is a geek, but will also go crazy over Penn State football with me.

I don't care about football on TV, who wins, who's great this season, who's not... I hate sports talk. But I get season tickets for Penn State football each year because going to these games, oh man, no college football is crazy like this. Insanity each home game weekend.

I *hate* sports.... I'm really lucky that Sean only likes to play sports, not watch them. He said he doesn't see the point... thank God

Ohh girls I know this isn't a huge deal but it kind of is for me, hehe. My dad texted me today, and I called him later for details: Turns out he got tickets to a preseason Cowboys game next Friday! I know it's not a real game, but it's cheaper and the guy he's getting em from (a friend from HS) says they're pretty good seats. I've been to a Mavericks game, but never a Cowboys game, and it looks like we'll get to go to one during the last season in Texas Stadium. My dad grew up a Cowboys fan and he's never been to a game either! So it should be fun-I've checked with the boss and he said as long as I get it all done Thursday night I can take Friday off, so woohoo. That shouldn't be a problem-at worst, I'll have a night meeting and have to write a quick story that night or the next morning. So knock on wood, but I'm trying to be optimistic.

And if I see Jessica Simpson, I will throw things at her.

Danny loves football and basketball. As soon as the season starts, that's what he's watching. But, to make it even worse, in between seasons and when there aren't any games on, he plays football and basketball on his XBox 360. I hardly ever get a break from sports! I don't mind sports and actually like football, but I can only take so much of it! lol
