Thought it was about time to start one of these now. It has been almost 2 months since we were married. It doesn't seem any different (maybe because we are going on 8 years together in November) but I do get excited when I get to sign my new last name. It is close in length and letters as my old one so people are always asking if I have messed up yet....surprisingly no.
So just a few updates on things we have done since the wedding.
*no honeymoon yet but we plan on going somewhere warm when it gets cold here in Iowa
*shopping for married health insurance, life insurance, auto, and house insurance. we have them all now but changing companies (having trouble with our current company)
*name change on everything (pain in the butt because I am a licensed massage therapist and I have to change it through the state, national board, insurance, etc.)
*talking about kids (we are both ready just not sure of right now ready....maybe january ready)
*kinda looking for a new house (we have one now that we bought 5 years ago but if we are planning on kids we will need something bigger as now we always seem to be on top of each other and I don't care to sit and watch him play PS for hours...only when i get to play then i don't mind..hehe)
Alright got a little windy....hmmm maybe that is why my uncle has called me windy mindi all my life :winktongue:
I'll def make sure to update some more and post picts because I am one that loves to see picts.

Getting all the stuff done takes a while, but then it'll be DONE forever, and you won't have to ever worry about it again. I understand about the talking about kids thing. DH and I have been together so long ourselves, that we don't need that "us" time that a lot of people say that they want. Of course, we haven't been together for 8 years, only 6.5, but still! That's a long time!
Happy two months! :)

I am not sure if I ever talked before about my schooling so I will fill you in a little. I changed my focus 3 times. The first time around and my first year of college I went to a community college about 2 hours from home to do Computer Science (changed my mind didn't like that), second time around I came home (not technically home but back to the home area) and decided to go to the community college and just get my generals and ended up getting an Associate Of Science in Business Administration and Management. Alright you are always told that if you have a college degree you will get a job right.....WRONG.....you need experience (which I totally understood, but how are you supposed to get experience when no one will hire you?) It took me 2 years and going back to school for Massage Therapy to get a job. I finished my massage schooling did all the required testing and getting my state license, etc. So while I was still working by office job I was looking for a part-time massage job.....landed one worked there for a few months but ended up not working out. So I decided to wait until after the wedding to start looking for another massage job. Well I start one tomorrow!!!! And you thought this was just a story about my schooling background....hehe....it did have a point. :D
So I will be working at my office job mon, tues, thurs, and friday and massaging wed and most saturdays. I figured now is the time to get started and figure out what I really want to do. I am nervous about starting tomorrow since it has been a good 8 months since I have given a professional massage.
Other than that nothing too exciting going on. Well except my birthday is next weekend and also our annual trip to Milville, MN to watch motocross! I am sooooo excited and it will be fun to get away.

It'll probably be like riding a bike for you. Good luck and congratulations on starting your new job!
Good luck with the new job tomorrow! I hope that you come back with a report of a wonderful day.

Phew....yesterday was my first day at the chiro office doing massage therapy. I couldn't be happier. I had 3 clients and each one of them said it was great. I guess I am a little hard on myself because it isn't like I can give myself one to know where I should keep things the same, change something, or how fast I am actually going through the motions. Quality not quantity of massage strokes....probably the best adive our teacher gave us. One said she wanted a gift certificate and the other two said they would be back. I have this weekend off because we will be out of town but starting next weekend I will be on schedule for working Wednesday and Saturday. It is going to be weird working saturdays again and I am soooo used to having them off.
Anyways this weekend is going to be filled with fun, food, and motocross. Friday night we have my mom's work employee/customer/supplier appreciation party. I kid you not her boss spends more than I did on my wedding each year for this party. She works for some really great people that appreciate their employees. Then Saturday oh Saturday I turn the big 2-5...ok ok I know nothing to spectacular but still my birthday.....oh yeah i called my dad yesterday and was talking to him about the party friday night and asked him about saturday and he had forgotten it was my birthday  hehe.....my mom normally had to remind him. Then saturday early afternoon we leave for Milville, MN for motocross races :ura1:spend the night and hang out at the track all day sunday. Come home to face the next week of work.
Anyways I hope I get some really good picts of us and our friends because I am horrible about taking picts of us. I can stand there and watch other people taking picts but not think hey dummy get your camera out and start snapping.
Alright got a little windy but am super excited about this weekend. Prolly should get to work, ugh but don't want to.
I'm so glad that you had a good first day! I was thinking about you! Sorry you have to work Saturdays though. Your weekend is going to be a ton of fun. It's your bday weekend...it better be fun!!

Thanks ladies! I had my second day today and it went just as well as the first. Tomorrow I have a meeting for most of the day at my office job. I am not looking forward to this at all.
On another note I haven't talked to my MIL since the wedding (don't get me wrong it has been nice) in person that is but through email. I have been nothing but nice and responded back to her. Well today she decided to email and ***** to me saying that I never liked the fact that her and Ben were close (which ins't true) and that if she knew about stuff with certain people before the wedding she wouldn't have done what she had done over the past years. The certain people happen to be Ben's brother's dad (we'll call him C) and stepmom. Ben's dad passes away when he was a baby and his mother got together with C and then they split after his brother was born but not sure how long after. I know this is confusing and I hope I haven't lost anyone yet. But in the past C did things that he isn't proud of but has completely changed his life around and has always considered Ben a son. Ben and C have gotten closer over the years and his mother doesn't like it and constantly starts fights and brings things up from the past. We have tried unsuccessfully to squash things and things seem fine then all of a sudden she pulls a new story out of her head to start yet another fight of some sort. I am at my wits end with this and don't know what to do with her. Ben and her have actually grown apart because she is doing this because he hates having to listen to her tell him more lies. Sorry about the rant but I needed to vent and I know Ben gets tired of it. He is going to call her or is in the process and I will see what she says now and how she tries to cover her butt this time.
Ugh anyways I better do some laundry....:censored:
Ugh, seems like his mom is quite a piece of work! I hope that his phone conversation with her wasn't too bad.

Last night we started out "couples" bowling league. Except my team isn't couples...it consists of my sister and 2 other friends. I started bowling with them 2 or 3 years ago. Ben doesn't like bowling that much and during bowling season he is normally starting in the field for harvest. So yesterday was pretty busy for me. I had 4 appts starting at 9am and ending at 4pm and bowling at 7pm. Having 4 appts already in one day is pretty good for it only being my 3rd day.
On other notes Ben and I have kinda talked about trying for kids but he doesn't seem to interested in talking about it. We have been together for 8 years (in November) so it isn't like we need that time to get to know each other as a married couple because we have lived together for 6 of those 8 years. I think that we are set on maybe waiting until December/January to start trying. So we will see.
A bowling league sounds so much fun. Too bad I'm horrible at bowling! :ooh:

Wow! I sure haven't been up to a whole lot just working. I have actually been caught up watching to RNC. Interesting if I do say so.
Starting this weekend is the Clay County Fair (Largest County Fair) and I can't wait. Food, food, and more food. My favorite food there are the Dippin Dots. They have something similar in the stores now but they are nothing like the real thing. I also can't wait to walk endlessly around looking at all the stuff there is. We live like a block and half from the fairgrounds so we can just walk. I can't remember who all the performers are but I know that Garth Brooks wife is Saturday night and if the wind blows right we can hear the concerts and we can definately hear the fireworks.
Other than that nothing to update on and headed to bed now.

Dang...I didn't realize it had almost been a month since I last posted here. Got signed up for power volleyball at the YMCA and it starts November 5th and goes through the winter so that gives me something to do on wed nights. Working like crazy. The chiro office that I do my massage therapy at wants me to come in full-time because the other gal is done after today. Unfortunately I cannot go in full-time right now. I am contemplating after the first of the year and depending on the whole eceonomy stress going on now. So I will continue doing the wednesdays, saturdays, and some weeknights. It is kind of stressful in a sense there because i can go until the night before and have nothing and then bam I'm booked (not complaing about being booked but the not having anything part). I actually had 2 last night so I worked my regular full-time job from 8-5 and then 5:30-8pm doing massages. You would think I would be tired after giving massages but I am what seems like more wired...too bad that being wired doesn't help me get motivated to clean the house :D.
On the home front I painted the kitchen. It took me two weekends because the walls were white and there was a border. So I had to peel off the top layer of the border and the spritzed the glue part down with water and it came off pretty easy. I had to prime it with an oil based (sucky) primer and then painted. I have before picts but no after yet becasue we want to paint the cabinets and trim also because they are an aweful pastel green color. But as soon as I am finished I will post them.
