I keep an other journal on a fitness site, and it's really helpful, so I thought this would be a great idea to help plan and vent about things!:D

My fiance and I met in December 2006 in NJ through a friend. We started dating almost immediately, although I didn't really want to serious relationship at he time. He was just so sweet and nice, that I couldn't resist. He asked me to marry him a few weeks ago on July 25th. We had a nice Italian dinner and then walked outside by the water, where he asked me to marry him. We are having the wedding in PA, since that's where I grew up and my parents still live. We have both the reception hall and the church already-I wanted to get both of those out of the way so that it's one less thing to worry about! The wedding is going to be about two hours from where we live now, so I plan on having to do alot of driving back and forth on weekends!

This journal is just going to be for trying to cope with everything since I honestly have no idea what I'm doing lol. Should be interesting......:D

So I decided the colors for the wedding are going to be chocolate and pink(more of a brighter pink, I have to find more of a specific name lol).

My flowers are going to be gerbera daisies, I absolutely love them!

I picked the ring out months ago when we first started looking-I knew exactly what I wanted because I always wanted pink to be included in the ring. Neither of us realized the price of pink diamonds lol, so the ring has two pink sapphires along with the diamond. I love it.

So the reception hall is set for June 20th. The women is getting the contract together and we will go over it and sign it next time we drive to PA. We're also meeting with the priest that day to fill out some forms. He said I have to join a church here in NJ, which is fine since we will be moving in with each other in a few weeks and will just join one together in that area.

I'm not sure what other stuff to really start doing-I mean, I have lots of ideas in my head of what I want, but I don't know when is too early to start! I'm going to look at dresses in a few weeks with my sister-in-law and friend. I know pretty much what kind of dress I want, I'll have to post a picture!

So for my dress I'm looking for something sleeveless and with a pink sash in the middle. Something kind of like this, but with a brighter pink:

I'm moving to the Cranford area in a few weeks. We were going to move to Monmouth County because I really like it, but it would have been too far of a drive to work!

Yea Menlo Park Mall is awesome too! We have family in cranford!! FH's sister lives in Piscattaway. We wanted to have our wedding in NJ, but FH and I have a daughter together and shes a toddler and the driving back and forth would be hell on her .

RebelChick-that's cool you have family in Cranford! A NJ wedding would have been nice, but I'm so happy my fiance agreed to get married in PA. It's so much cheaper, but I still consider PA "home", since I've only been in NJ for two years or so (I lived in MD befoore that).

So Scott and I had a pretty big fight a few days regarding the size of the wedding and who's going to pay for it. He has a huge family and is very close with all of them. I don't-I'm really only close with my parents, brother and sister-in-law, and my one aunt. My family doesn't really talk to most of our relatives, so obviously, they won't be invited to the wedding. So even including my family, friends, and some other people (neighbors, co-workers, etc), he has ALOT more people coming to the wedding. I really didn't want that big of a wedding-100 or so people was fine with me. Well, now the list is already up to 150, mostly because of his side. I never expected my parents to pay for the wedding like the tradition says-I'm 29 with a good job, plus my parents don't make alot of money. I never wanted this huge, fancy wedding-just something nice. I fully expected to have to put in a big chunk of the money used to pay for the wedding-I figured we'd take what my parents and his parents were giving, and then Scott and I could pay the rest. I guess Scott thought my parents would be PAYING for alot more and we got into a fight about it, especially since his guest list overshadows mine by tons of people. I asked him to cut his list, but he said he really couldn't. It was such a stupid fight, but I felt like I had to choose between defending my parents and hearing out his opinion. I have no problem paying for whatever needs to be paid for out of my own pocket. Ugh, it's just annoying and the last thing I want to do is fight over money stuff:irked:

Yea thats the same here.. My side is hardly anyone (Max 15 people of just family, and about 10 friends) HIS SIDE is about 50 Family, and 10 friends! My family doesnt have alot of money, but my dad agreed to pay what he could for the Venue (which is ceremony, and reception but not the DJ, not my dress, not favors, nothing more than food and fees) My dad is paying about 4,000. And Danny and I have to front the rest. Its nuts how men think

Ugh, that totally sucks! Everything will work out. Just show FH how much the difference in money will be 100 people compared to 200.

I haven't been on all weekend because we got the keys to our new place on Saturday and we were so busy! Our lease doesn't start until September 1st, but they are letting us move some stuff in early since the other people already moved out. We showed his parents it Saturday, and then went and bought some new furniture and packed my place up a little on Sunday. I can't wait to move in with him!

So wedding-wise, I finished my wedding website this weekend and now "officially" have my five bridesmaids. I have no idea who the maid-of-honor is going to be, but I'll figure that out eventually!
