This doesn't really count as "DIY" because DH and I actually make other peoples' invitations for a living, but we did create all of our wedding card products ourselves. I finally got around to taking some photos of them to put on our blog this week.

Save the Dates:

We did a comic strip theme for our save the date and printed them on sheets of 8x10 metallic photo paper, then cut them down the middle. They fit perfectly into business size envelopes.

Invitations:

We did a tri-fold design for our invitation because, well, DH just wanted a ton of canvas to work with. We printed them on pearl paper with our regular pro photo printer, White House Custom Colour. I *heart* our printer. Anyway, enough talk. Here's the invitation porn:

We took our engagement photos ourselves (again, this is what we do...) by setting up a tripod and jumping on our trampoline in the backyard:

And another photo was taken on our couch while having a beer. Again, with the tripod. Beer geeks: note that the little frilly leaf bits are actually hops.

DH seriously SLAVED over this map:

The front of our RSVP cards. We printed this part on linen paper instead of pearl because we were worried people wouldn't be able to write on the pearl.

The back. I had fun with this part. :D

Programs:

We originally weren't going to do programs because we were just too freaking busy, but the week before the wedding we just kind of got it in our heads to do it. I mainly wanted people to know that our officiant was my uncle, not just some random officiant dude. So a program was the best way to do that, we thought. We knew we had to do something simple, so we did a front and back Playbill style program:

Another decent look at our engagement photos:

The back. DH took some elements from a little scrapbook I made him for our first anniversary and scanned them in to put in the background, plus added a few more recent elements to throw in the mix. Then on top of it was our cast of characters. Please note, the "Brandon's wife" thing is a joke between us and "Brandon's wife." :D

That's all, folks!

Oohh I LOVE the comic STDs!

Thanks! We were inspired by all of the photobooth strips we'd seen and wanted to do a different take on them.

Oh man! I want to go back and redo everything, except steal all your ideas, and your printer. :)

Your invites are exactly the same thing I am going to do hopefully, even on pearl paper. The pearl paper pretty much rocks. LOVE WHCC! :grinhappy: I just need our engagement photos yet. Best thing...they come with envelopes HA. But I think I may order some fancier envelopes.

Yeah, I am very much in love with WHCC's pearl paper. Every time we pull them out for clients, they start getting really excited! The envelopes are OK, but yeah, they could be better.

One thing I really, really love about WHCC's card products is that they tend to send you a few extras. Which is awesome, because I am pretty much famous for having to throw away cards I've screwed up.

I can't wait to get our engagements. Your's looks awesome. Maybe I should just hire you to make ours LOL.

Oh yeah, I had to use the extras in the past too. Thank goodness for those.

Oh and PS-we did our engagement photos using a tripod and remote trigger. It wasn't anything as nice as a full session, but we had what we needed for invitations and other wedding stuff.

We are getting it in the package from our photographers. But I think I am going to have my sister take some of us at the racetrack. Which is where I really want them done, but the photographers are 3.5 hours from there. I don't think they will want to travel that far for an hour shoot LOL. I'm with you though, I will only need a couple for the invites and program. Also it gives us a chance to get to know the photographers before the wedding.

Sorry to hijack your thread. I'm excited there is a fellow whcc person here. :D
