Woohoo! Where is everyone else?

I am just south of Cleveland and we had an ice storm last night! I have a tree down in my backyard, and we had to haul some HUGE branches off our driveway before we could go to work today.

All along my drive to work I saw so many trees just torn down to the ground....seeing the ice on everything was beautiful, but it's so dangerous!

I HATE winters in Ohio....I have lived here on and off for the majority of my twenty something years and I have never gotten used to it.....hmm...maybe I could move on down south and plan those grand ol southern weddings? :lol:

Virginia winters are usually not that bad, but ever 3 years or so they are just like the one you described. Most the time when we do get a storm that bad we are stuck in the house for a few days.

My husband aunt lives in Ohio and she loss electric because the snow was so bad.

I know we have a lot of people here from Ohio. I hope all is well for all of you that is currently getting a lot of snow and ice this year.

I am in Utah and today has been nice, not much snow on the ground but enough to cover the dead grass. It is cold however.

We got dumped on right before Christmas (official measurement was 16"). But right now there's nothing on the ground. Yesterday we had quite a bit of rain, so glad it didn't freeze! My mom is in Northern Ohio (North Ridgeville) and they've got it pretty bad there with ice. She heard a weather forecast calling for snow flurries and freezing rain for Dayton, but it never came

I don't remember winters being like this when I was a kid.
