I have not started a journal. So here goes..

I just wanted to say that I am Thankful for a lot that has happened in the past 1.5 years.

1.5 years ago I was in my car praying to God. Asking him again.. to show me a sign. That moving 2 hrs away from family/friends was a good idea. Quiting my job too. It all just seemed so scary back then.


So I still prayed about the "move". Almost every time I would feel stressed out about it.. I would be in my car and this song would play on the radio. I don't even know who its by. And what's weird is that, only the first sentence in the song applied to me.. lol

But it said.. " I'm not skilled to understand, what God as willed, What God has Planned" We had no idea what we were doing.. It was just taking a simple risk and FH applied within the company for a new position. Turned into.. Dang.. we really are doing this!!


Still scared and needing reassurance. 3 weeks before the move. On my way to work at 4 am. I am at a red light praying and when the light turned green I started to go. Looking over at a church sign.. I got "My sign" It read. " Opportunity Knocks" That was it for me....


So we picked up everything and ventured out into the unknown. The day after Christmas 2006. For only 3,000 more a year on FH's paycheck. And me with NO job!

Since then......... I got the first job I applied for. FH ended up making an extra 10,000 that year. We bought 2 new cars. I even burst into tears when I realized that my employer closes the entire place down a week before Christmas so everyone can be with there families"
All I could think was that God was giving me back what I had sacrificed. And I am Thankful for that!

And as far as planning our wedding...... All my plans failed that I originally had. New doors opened "cheaper ones" From the Photog to the Reception venue even to the coordinator who happens to be my neighbor who moved in 2 months ago!

Is anyone "thankful" for things that have happened in their life during the planning? Does not have to involve a God or Your God. ( Sorry, I do not want to be disrespectful to anyones religion :O) and honestly didn't know how to write that.. lol

Planning as not been to bad. I am happy to see that the photographer is getting booked next Sunday. yay!! I need to call the dj..hmm I think I will do that now..

YAY!!! I love it when a plan comes together.. Or is it when I get up off my *** on a sat. afternoon while Landen is taking a nap.

Ok... so.. I forgot to mention... I called the DJ that was refered to us by Ricks Aunt Mary. Left message.. on home home.. lol I think.

Last night I am updateing my vendor contact list.. Realized that he has a cell number on the back of his card!

I just spoke with him 10 min. ago. He is on his 7th day working 12 hr days!!! Yikes!!

I requested his email addy, and soon here I am going to email him so he can have mine.

Today I finished 3 more centerpieces. I am using the monogram that Brandi made me.

Nothing real fancy. I will be adding roses to that vase and led lights. Among other things around it. I will do a mock up at a later time. If mock up is the words I wanna use.. lol

I only have 2 left! YAY.

Now, the next DIY prodject is the STD'S. I have them. Finished a prototype. Have the magnets, just need to do 50 more of them!

I know what you mean about being thankful for things that have happened. We're not very heavily into planning yet, but we have had a few things happen that make it very apparent we are doing the right thing (job changes, moving, etc)

I am to tired today to post any of my DIY stuff I have done. But I did want to say I am booking my photog tomorrow. YAY.

Now if I can get the DJ to return my call.. and email.. I will be happy. But I know he works alot. Last I spoke with him, he was working on his 7th day without a day off. And he works 7am to 7pm.

Today I drove 2 hrs and 38 min to Mount Vernon Ohio to book our photographer. But along the way I had things to do.

So my soon to be son and I got up early and drove to Grovecity OH. Picked up my 13 yr old from his fathers house. ( he stayed there the summer)

While I was there.. I called my best friend of 17 years and had her meet me because we lost contact with each other for the last 3 yrs. That was exciting and sad.. She has drama but I will have to make another post about that one.

Anyways.. From there... Aaron, Clayton and myself drove the rest of the 1.5 hr drive. I got to meet with our photographer. She is awesome..Great work..

While I was there I let the kids play at the park. Called one of the bm's that lives there. Was going to have her meet me. We don't get to see each other that often either.. But she didn't answer her phone.

After the kids played we drove back towards home. Stopping in Whitehall Ohio to drop off Clayton to his Mother.

Finally heading home. Thinking it was a wonderful day. Yes a lot of driving. But indeed worth it. The sky was just beautiful crisp and light blue, and the weather was superb.

We left at noon and we got back home at 8:30pm. I feel accomplished today.

I am now in the process of getting my dj booked. So far I have

As far as planning.. I have all of the ceremony items.. pillow unity candles.. isle runner.... etc...Oh and my hand made pew flowers that took a total of 48 dozen deep red roses to make. lol.. But I love them

I have lots of decorations for the reception.. including 40 boxes of red lights and so far 10 boxes of white lights.

I have 9 of the 12 centerpieces done.

My bouquet and the bridesmaids done.

My dress and everything for it.. shoes veil, teara how ever its spelled.. lol the slip... etc..

The bridesmaids... 3 of the 4 already have there dress ordered and its at their house..

The Save the date cards and magnets.. I have the magnets and I am hand making the cards. I have 3 months to get them done and sent out.

I guess im exactly where you were a year and a half ago. Life halted for fh job and the wedding plans all halted and failed!!

Oh cool. I lived in Reynoldsburg. Moved here to Milford ( 30 min east of Cincy about 1.5 years ago, But the wedding is up in Columbus.)

So today I redid the bm's necklaces and bracelets. I didn't add a crimping bead the first time around.. lol And I didn't add satin to the bracelet.

Now that I have my save the dates done.. And I feel good about the bm's jewelry. My next DIY... is to finish the last 2 of the centerpieces.. I have to buy floralytes.. And that crystal water stuff.. 2 more glass vases. And those are done.

I also am going to be starting my candy buffet table.. With just printing my ~~Love~~Sweet~~Love And buying some black fabric, also black frames. Bring home some boxes from work. And last buy some vases..

After that... ~~sigh~~ I am doing a very unique throwaway bouquet. It will consist of 5 little bouquets. That will each have individual charms and ribbon wrapped around them. The charms will read be words that are inspiring. Like.. Love, Hope, dreams, Health, Wealth... Something like that..

Also whats cool about that idea is that All the women can go out there.. to catch the bouquet/bouquets!:D

Lately I am tired. We have had 2 guys at work quit. So now Tim and myself have to get the work done.

So with Jimmy ( biological father) and bills.. and work.... plus.. my 3 yr old.. I am pooped.

This is why I type in large font.. I can see it from my squinting eyes... from being tired lol

However, I'm still on it with trying to do my next DIY. I bought 3 yards of black satin for the candy buffet. I also found my wording.. that will go into the picture frames.. I am having 4 black frames hung on the wall..and printed on white paper with Red font..

Tomorrow, I will take my white cardstock to work.. lol and print off the wording I need. Then.. I am gonna try to figure out what kind of boxes I need to bring home. The black satin will run over the card board boxes..
All that I have left is to buy the vases.. and the candy!

Tonight I finished, or almost finished the candy bags. These are nothing special. I just didnt want to do wedding favors. And I opted to do the candy buffet instead.

I went with using zip lock bags. That have a write on surface. So I stamped each one with a cake stamp. The cake stamp looks cute. But unfortunately it has the part number on it, for when you order them. ( I got them from work)

Anyways.. I really don't care.. I am not stressing over something not being as perfect as I want it to be.

I just got back from the post office. Looks like my save the date is going to cost 42 cents to send.. woo hooo.

I have started my mock- up of the centerpieces. Again. I did a small scale and it didn't turn out the way I wanted. So last night I did the ice crystals. I have the white light that goes inside. But I am gonna wait until I can get the flowers. I have used all my fake ones.

But as I get more into thinking, I wounder if my centerpiece will be to small? Were using large round tables. I might try to add something else to give it some umff.

But first, I'm taking a nap! lol

Honestly.. the ones I am doing are very easy. Microsoft template.. free..
All you do is enter your info, put your color of choice card stock in the printer. And print.

Cut them out and bingo.. you have an invitation. I personally am sticking the invitation to a red card stock. Then with wired ribbon. wrap it around the whole thing. glue the ends together.. DONE..

Microsoft office also has the RSVP cards that go with it. Those I am just printing on white card stock.

Now I do know of a lady who sells invitations and she is doing a 50% off. I am not sure if she is still doing it. But its worth a try. I have posted her link in the good deals.. or something like that.. Maybe web lady can put the link. I don't know how to redirect you to that post.

I am in a hurry at the moment.. But if the info is not given to you.. I will look for it and give it to you...

My friend as a pre wedding gift. Bought me the craft -lite cutter.. Cuts straight through... and in pretty designs too. Cost 20 bucks. You can get them in any craft store. I cant cut a straight line to save my life!!!!!

I have not been here in a while. Things here are the house are fine. We have a Halloween party to go to on the 24th.

I am supposed to send out the STD's here very soon. And I have had a chance to buy stamps. But didn't. I hope I will buy them soon. Or take them to work and mail them out.

I have not really done anything with the wedding. We did look into tuxes. And I wanna say we are gonna be renting at Mens Wearhouse. But will probably go take a look at them and get fitted in Nov.

A while back ago I got a estimate on my alterations. Not knowing anything about this sort of stuff. I was told they would cost $400.00. Devistated, I waited another 3 months before I went and got a second quote.

And guess what. It's only $120.00 YAY!!! I am so happy about this. But I cant go for my first fitting until my Birthday!

Ya, I am very happy.

Today I went through my to do list. So far to date. I have been able to manage it. Staying ahead of things. But for some reason, I feel the need to do something for the wedding. I completed the STD cards and started sending them out. I can do this for "free" at my work. But I cant send more than 5 at a time.

But I am having a itch to feel accomplished. So I think I might start making my invitations today. Maybe start cutting them. or printing them.

I also found my twin.. lol I swear she and I look just like, but she has long hair and I have short.

I think I am gonna go with a different vellum paper. But I don't know what color. I cant do red because of the flower petals. I cant do black. because the monogram wont show. Maybe I will go with silver or something.

red gems glued on them? Maybe OUTLINE them in red gems or add them on the corners. You may also want to paint the sides red so its subtle. :)

I am a mess tonight. I know I am about to start on the 4th. But dang it I cant stop thinking about work. What my boss said, what he dont understand. But why am I sooo flipp'en upset about it? Enough to cry? lol wtf is wrong with me? Stress.. Maybe. Alot... NO.

So tonight when I got home. I made some calls.

I have not been able to get a hold of my caterer. I even had a nightmare last night over it. First I had to Google the venue's # Google has it listed as their fax #!!!!! :irked:

I searched and searched until I came across another number. And "SHE" gave me the number to the venue. :D

So I called the venue today and they gave me my caterer's new cell # :cloppy:

Now you would think Meg ( caterer) would of called and gave me her new #. Right?? Granted the last we spoke was many months ago.. lol

I booked Meg in Feb. We emailed each other in May. I have nto emailed her since. I just have been so busy with everything else.

Not to mention... I am a little scared that I recently contacted my photog. And she told me she was quitting after her booked weddings are done. That she bought a new house and the money from the photography was not paying the bills.

Now see I knew she screwed herself over when she went on craigs list. 50% off all packages. Trying to pull in some clientel. Problem is... She does good work! And everyone booked her.

But now that its getting close. Little more than 5 months away! petrified:

So today I Went and looked at the guest list. And I could nto figure out why it said only 32 pple have RSVPed. I knew there was more if you count the guest that the "guest was bringing"

After looking and looking.. I figured it out. I had only clicked accepted on the main Guest. Not their guest that they were inviting.

Now I have 46 yes of the 97 that are invited.

Plus.. I have been keeping track of how many people view the website. Since I have sent the Save the Date magnets. I have had everyone view the site. Sucks that only half of them have RSVPed. But oh well.. they have 5 months to do it. Hopefully they will by the 25th of Febuary when the RSVP cards come back.

I am excited!!!!! Things are going very well.. And smooth!!!

personally, and you know ill be honest :) if your going to do the R invites, those corners are a bit much, A bit "modern" for the classic "monogram" invitation. I do however, think you could possibly mix it up and have those corners on 1. either your reception card or 2. your rsvp card :)

Well over the weekend, I found out I am going on a surprise road trip. Out of state 6 hrs away.

FH made his tux appt for Dec, 13th @1pm

I also found out that we are not going to fh's parents for Thanksgiving on Thursday. We are going to their cottage on Sat. instead.

That means I have to cook!! umm I was not thinking about having to cook. Oh well... It will be nice for a change NOT to be driving 2 hrs away and coming back the same day.

Also it will be nice to have a Thanksgiving dinner with just us here at the house.

lol... Well.. I am redoing my BM necklaces and braclets. I used cheap pearls and thought it would be ok.. And after I saw ( i forgot her name) I was like.. Those look awesome! So I am redoing them and changing the pearls to glass ones. I did one so far. And just the weight of it makes it feel real. Looks great. I cant wait for the pearls to go back on sale, And I am adding a swavorkian crystal charm.

Again after seeing.. ( **** it I cant believe I forgot her name) Hers! lol rebel??? ****! I cant remember! Anyways... she really did a great job. I hope mine turns out as good as hers!


Ok.. second DIY.. that I have not even flipping started.. My throw away bouquet. I am doing a bouquet, with 5 mini bouquets tied together with inspirational words attached to them. So when I go to throw it. I can have every woman, married or single, out on the dance floor. 5 women will catch a bouquet.

Third...my water bottle labels. I am having them printed on quality waterproof paper at kinko's Then all I have to do is cut them and put them on water bottles.

Ok... So I got a call from my( maybe) bio-logical father last night. Saying he booked two hotel rooms in Gatlinburg TN. they have a huge light festival thing going on down there for Christmas. We will meet for the very fist time after 32 years of not knowing he had a daughter. Or at least that I was his.
It's a long story, I swear I could write a book about my life. But anyways, we are meeting and taking a DNA test ( I wanted this).

How do I feel? I dunno... weird a lil.. I feel like I am 12 again. Unsure of what what is going on. I remember I was 12 when I found out that my step father was not my father. My mother was trying to pack up and leave, and my step father caught us driving down the road with a fully packed car. He took both my siblings except me out of the vehicle. From right there at that point.. when I asked " why didn't dad take me too?" And in a fit of hurt and pain, with tears in her eyes, my mother says "Deanna he is not your father"

The following year she we fled again. Only this time we made it. I started a new school I was in 5th grade. And I remember everyone laughing at me when the teacher asked me how do I spell my last name. My response was " I don't know" lol. I can laugh now.. but back then.. lol it was a big deal. I think I lied when she came to my side because I was crying. I told her my mom got married. Spelling schaefler at 12 was not easy.

Ok.. there might be some hidden feelings in that one.. I don't even know where it came from.. I just typed.. Oh well its my journal/diary now.. :book:

As some of you know I ordered a sample from quality chair covers. And the cranberry fits perfect! Perfect color, I love it.!!!!! But I didn't understand something...

When I placed my quote for 100 organza cranberry sashes and 20 satin sashes. They asked if I wanted any additional samples. So I thought what the hell, I will ask for 2 or 3 of the closest colors that match our wedding.

They gave me literally.. lol A sample of the organza and satin cranberry. But set me full sashes for the additional colors.

No biggie. I got the idea for the length and width. And feel. The satin feels like I could make a pair of Pajama's out of it. l ol And the stitching is good.. no lose ends.. Organza is really nice. All shimmery and has a good thickness to it. Not thin and flimsy like some organza tulle I have felt. I feel that it would not need to be steamed to get any wrinkles out. As there are not that many in it. The satin did wrinkle more. I can see the folds in it.

Now for the part I didn't know.
I knew that if you bought a sample. They would take that $10.00 off your final bill. But when I got the sample, I read the paper and it said.. To avoid any fee's All items must be returned, including swatch books. That I have 5 business days to return the samples and sashes.

Again...no biggie. I am gonna rent the sashes through them. And I feel good about the sashes in cranberry. As for sending it back. I work in the shipping/receiving at a marina dealership. So shipping is free for me.. woo hoo.

I will say this to any of you who is having a fall wedding. The "rust" color they have.. that reminds me of a rust colored leaf. When I seen it I instantly thought "fall wedding". And the red is a true red.. A Davids bridal red.... not a bright/ red lip stick color. If that makes any sense. lol its like a shade darker than bright lipstick red.

When I placed my quote for 100 organza cranberry sashes and 20 satin sashes. They asked if I wanted any additional samples. So I thought what the hell, I will ask for 2 or 3 of the closest colors that match our wedding.

They gave me literally.. lol A sample of the organza and satin cranberry. But set me full sashes for the additional colors.

No biggie. I got the idea for the length and width. And feel. The satin feels like I could make a pair of Pajama's out of it. l ol And the stitching is good.. no lose ends.. Organza is really nice. All shimmery and has a good thickness to it. Not thin and flimsy like some organza tulle I have felt. I feel that it would not need to be steamed to get any wrinkles out. As there are not that many in it. The satin did wrinkle more. I can see the folds in it.

Now for the part I didn't know.
I knew that if you bought a sample. They would take that $10.00 off your final bill. But when I got the sample, I read the paper and it said.. To avoid any fee's All items must be returned, including swatch books. That I have 5 business days to return the samples and sashes.

Again...no biggie. I am gonna rent the sashes through them. And I feel good about the sashes in cranberry. As for sending it back. I work in the shipping/receiving at a marina dealership. So shipping is free for me.. woo hoo.

I will say this to any of you who is having a fall wedding. The "rust" color they have.. that reminds me of a rust colored leaf. When I seen it I instantly thought "fall wedding". And the red is a true red.. A Davids bridal red.... not a bright/ red lip stick color. If that makes any sense. lol its like a shade darker than bright lipstick red.

So glad your samples turned out! I have to get mine ordered now, I can't wait now!!!!!!!

Ok well now that the third dress fever is over. lol

This has been a hard week. I thought today was the 10th! And tomorrow would be the 11th. All week I have been so busy at work. They have ran me ragged. Leaving me drained and useless at home.

Even today as I drove home. I thought YAY tomorrow fh gets fitted for his tux! Then I thought.. hmm why don't the 11th of Dec. stick out in my head. I swore we set it for another date.

I stopped in to pay the cell bill and I was telling the girl in there.. Hey you didn't call me and tell me my bill was due.. lol.. She said.. that's cause its not due until tomorrow. It was then that she told me todays date. I'm lost I swear.

Sooo ya we did set it for a different date. The 13th.. lol Wow all week I was 2 days off. No wonder people were looking at me funny when they said you go on vacation next week right. I told everyone "NO" LOL I go on vacation this Wednesday! Wow.. what happened to December..

lets just hope that you dont have a lot of friends with 5 kids ;)
Truth is, you could just do "children in the wedding party' or 'children over 10" something of that nature. if not, just double check with your venue (are you doing your own food or catered? i forgot) b/c i know my kids are able to be served like chicken fingers and french fries for like 23.00 (compared to the 80 on other plates ya know) most places offer childrens plates for a signifigant amount off

yes, it should really be about HALF of the cost!!! realistically at least half. mine is half for anyone under 21 but over 12- they get the regular food but obviously no drink. Then for anyone under 12 its about a quarter of the cost cuz they get a "kids" meal.

well, i would first look over your contract. If it doesnt say anything in there, i would call and mention something like "it has come to my attention we have WAAAY more kids then i initially thought, i wanted to know if there is a childs meal to be offered, and the cost of that" Settle it beforehand b/c at that last minute you wont have any other options.

We went and and rented fh's tux today. Picked out what the groomsmen will wear. Also went to lunch at Jonney Rockets. I had never been there before. But what was so cool is that its a 50's cafe. Playing 50's music. Well all of a sudden all the employee's came out in the center of the restaurant and danced to " My girl" It was sooo cute and nice.


Then when we came home, made love. After that I had received a email from a old friend of mine. My neighbor from Columbus. I had originally asked her to be in my wedding. But lost her number when I lost my cell phone. Anyways... She is back in.. And ordering her bridesmaid dress on Monday. YAY> Now I have 5 girls on my side. And Rick only has 4.. lol Either way.. It was the end to a perfect day today.

And.. lol I forgot to add... When we put the deposit down for the tuxes. We have added a second shirt for the guys to change into before the reception.

They will wear a white shirt with red vest and tie. With a white hankie. Then they will change into a black shirt right before the reception. I think it will look great.

Well the dress fits perfect except the hem. And even then she is don't hemming it. She is tacking it underneath the pickups. I don't expect to gain or lose an weight as I have weighed 125 for the last 6 years. But I think I am gonna call her tomorrow and see if I can get in earlier. Just incase.. yano. My real worry is what if I lose weight. Thats a real possible situation. Then I would have to get the body altered too.

Today was a good day. Rick had to work. I didn't. But after today he is on vacation until Jan 2nd. I got up this morning put Landen downstairs at the Baby sitters.

I went back to bed and got up at around 10am. Emailed myself the invitation and the rose water bottle label. Googled a kinko's close by and off I went. I didnt expect to buy anything. I just wanted to do a test run to see how they would print out with a laser printer. Well I was in for a shock. We ran it.. and wow.. the color just pops right out from the paper I am using. the sales lady at kinko's loved it. Even asked where did I get it.

So I went ahead and had her print off all of the invitations. Price was under $10.00. And she gave it to me for free! Got to love that.

On to the water bottle labels. Those came out perfect. They look professionally done. So on the way home I thought I wonder if hobby lobby has anything on sale there I need. I was going to go and passed the exit up. I thought oh well.. It must not been meant to be.

But sundenly I remembered I am on Vacation!!!! Who cares if they do or dont have anything I need on sale.. Your on vacation and how often do you get to just get up and go.. So I turned around and went.

They had everything I swear on 50% off I seen so many 50% off signs it was crazy. But I was good and only bought some more tall apothecary vases for the candy buffet table.

When I got home I emailed all the GM's and let them know what was going on, and gave them the group number and our last names for the tux rentals. Also emailed the BM's updated them on whats going on..

I feel accomplished today..

I had to redo the necklaces because of two reason.. One.. I tried to go cheap.. and cheap is what I got. The paint was chipping off the plastic pearls lol.. And Rebelchick really showed me with her necklaces you get what you pay for. Sooo... with her idea of the charm. I went back and bought a good quality pearl and this is what they look like.

ok this sucks.. I didn't think I was that busy. Yeah work has been killing me. I have been setting up this meeting with "dear 'ol dad lol After 32 years. So last night I officially started the invitations. Now that I know to go to kinko's to have them printed. Plus I am NOW aware of the time on our website for the ceremony. I thought it was 330 and its 3:00. I did 20 invites and had to throw them away because of that time issue.. blah... But I got 23 done and I need to make a reply card and also have it sent to be printed as well.

Today I was at Meijers and they had the glass pearls on sale for under a dollar. Plus I picked up another charm but for the bracelets this time.
Only problem is this.. I fudged their necklaces up and I don't wanna fix it. I bought everything in gold. But when I picked out the main center charm. Its SILVER!!!!!! Sucks because I don't think they will wear these ever again. And thats ok. The bracket, they might.

Anyways.. I am on vacation and bored lol Because we didn't go anywhere being so close to the Holidays. I went into hobby lobby literally looking for something to do. Aint that crazy! I wanted to start my throw away bouquet, but I didn't because the latex flowers that I wanted to use, had brown parts on them. Almost looked like a real rose that had been sitting in a Walmart for a few days.. lol

Only thing left on my list, was to pick out the fancy vellum paper and Figure out where to print our Monogram at. Looks like.. this is what I will be doing tonight. Originally I picked out a plain white vellum. Earlybird mentioned I could change it up. So I did with white rose vellum paper. I think it will look good.

But honestly, how many do I really need? I am doing bubbles too. Guest list 100. So I really don't need a whole lot. Maybe 20? What do you think? I have 50 we tied the knot bubble things.

I think the necklaces are cute!
If the silver/gold issue bugs you that much you can cover up the gold with a bit of silver paint or even one of the felt paint pens! Don't glop it on, just enough so that you can't see the metal difference unless you LOOK.

ETA: I just realized you wanted to keep the gold... I don't know if I'd recommend doing that then if the piece you're trying to cover up is right smack in the center!

Id have to do that with the charm. Because both the necklace and bracelet have gold in them. The fold over connectors. the bracelet charms.. It dont bug me. I am just worried they wont wanna wear it.

Well I suvived the trip to TN. I had a great time. Jimmy (aka bio- father) was real nice and is very interested in getting the test results back.

FH says he can tell a resemblance. My mom drove me crazy.. the entire trip. We had gotten stuck on some very ice roads Tuesday coming home. And we seen 25 accidents with 22 miles. It was crazy... Soooo we stopped at home in Cincinnati and stayed the night before taking my mom home to Columbus Ohio in the morning.

I'm happy to be home tonight. But now I have some wrapping to catch up on.

I work on Friday.

Then our diving is not over. We are going to Ricks family's for there entire family Christmas. About 50+ people. So.. needless to say we hav to drive another 4 hrs on sat.

Apparently, not all velum prints the same. It bled outward. This will also be another item that Kink's will do. Sucks.. But still saving money buying the paper myself. And having it printed by kinko's Without any sales.. its $1.28 each x 25 = $32.00 ( yuk)

Invitations... I need 13 sheets. x 69 = $8.97 Plus $7.67 for printing. Again estimated in case I get no sales.

RSVP... Now I like this one. I get 4 per page. So I need 13.. ( but will bet 15 to have extra) x .69 = $10.35 plus .59 x 15 = $8.85

Total cost for invitations without postage and heaven forbid any 50% off sales at hobby lobby. $85.84 I think these invitations would be around 200 plus if I had them made. But thats my opinion.

I JUST had an issue with velum!!! (Still haven't posted it to my journal. Must remember to do that) But after quite a few screw ups :icon_barbar:I figured out that if you set your printer on "transparency" and separate EVERY PIECE so that they can dry -you're good.
Now imagine doing that to 50+ invites!!! :bbeek:

Did you set it to print at best or better? I did it at better and with transparent paper and it still bled. I did notice the color was richer this time around. But still not happy with the results. If you used normal or quick. I would be willing to try it again.

I did better (normal) because I noticed that when I used photo it was too much ink and the vellum wasn't absorbing it so it was wasted and it bled. So I used normal and as soon as it was done printing kept it horizontal as I moved it.
It was A LOT of work, and frustrations, but finally I figured out something that worked.

oh and draft leaves streaks 'cause it's going so fast and it still looks faded.

I tried that too. And it is definitely better but still bleeding. I am gonna have to take them to kinkos with me today, when fh and I go look at wedding bands together. Thanks for your help. it might be the vellum I have. I know when I used the plain white. From a pack of 25 it printed fine. This is scrap paper vellum that you buy individually. Does that make a difference? I don't know. I will post pics of the final outcome.

I've used the vellum that came with the wedding invites and then from a pack I'd purchased at Hobby Lobby. Both worked fine. Actually the ones I'd purchased at Hobby Lobby were better. There was less bleeding.

This afternoon fh and I went to pick out his wedding band. And they are gonna have to get back with us because he wears a 16 and they need to call and check about the size.

Which is weird. Because I though I thought it would be a simple deal.. But all three places told us the same thing. Finally Kays jewelry said they could and its in stock.. But then came back with a " Well I guess its not in stock" But I will call on Monday and give you a call. ~Sigh~

So instead of getting his.. We got mine! lol Nothing fancy just a gold band. But he refused to buy the entire thing right there. We paid all of it but 50 bucks.

And here is the embarrassing part.. Right as we go to pay for the ring. Rick hands me a gum ball, from one of the machines that was in the middle of the walk way at the mall. Awe, thank you honey I say with a smile.. lol

OMG!! It was a tear jerker and not one of those lil ones either.. a huge one.. I cant talk.. my eyes are watering.. lol My mouth is filling with saliva lol...I am starting to get choked up with it. It was funny.. however it was also green!

So Ricks laughing so hard he's trying to keep it in.. And I could not even tell if I paid attention to getting the receipt! I try to chew it up a lil more when we leave and hes still laughing telling me to go to the restroom.. lol..

Yep thats right I labeled them and all. I am not waiting to get the envelopes for the invitations to come in. I have about 30 left to put double stick sided tape in the middle and spray adhesive on the ends. But some stamps and those will be done too. Woo Hoo and I dont have to mail them out until my b day Feb 11th.

I should find out the DNA test results this week. Maybe Monday or Tuesday. I am a lil nervous but I think thats normal.

I drove back home to c bus today ( is where family and friends live 2 hrs away from me)
And met up with Keyma one of the bridesmaids that I have not seen in 2 years! We have 3 months until the wedding day and she has yet to order her dress. As a matter of act her and one other bridesmaid has not ordered there dress. They will have to pay rust delivery which is like $30.00. To be honest, I have already started preparing myself to be standing there with only 3 girls instead of 5. I have also arranged to have cash set aside to pay the make- up artist, because I am not paying for the girls that end up not being in the wedding!

On a side note, I am trying to figure out my next DIY. I know I am doing a few that I have started but didnt finish. So I think I will be working buying the weatherproofing paper and getting the water bottle labels printed off. Plus buy the water.

Then I think I will finish buying the candles and lights for the center pieces.

Who knows what I will do from this point...

I am having anxiety attacks. With me waiting back to hear back from the DNA test. I know they got the test in on Friday. I was really hoping to find out today.. But instead i ended up checking the website.. over and over it drove me crazy. I also am waiting for my envelopes to come in from Jean M. And **** it.. if they are taking forever too.

I have nothing to take up my time. I get home today and to my excitement. Fh says some guy called today. I called and it was the DNA pace. They flipping needed some info. I didn't put my gender down.. My mom wrote her married and maiden name on the same paper! I guess I was no nervous I looked over it to fast. Before we get off the phone she says.. it will be 3 to 5 days before the test results come back..

I CANT TAKE THIS **** ANYMORE.. AHHHHHHHHHH I JUST WANT TO GO TO SLEEP AND WAKE UP, KNOW THE RESULTS.. AND GO ON WITH MY LIFE! GEESH..

Just when I think I am calming down.. I look over at my ticker.. and . lol.. I have 6 days and that damnnn ticker will say 2 months something.. again.. AHHHH... I have everything done.. Its just scary to know its happening..

First I'd like to say I got my envelopes in from Jean M. And then 2 hrs later I check the DNA website for the 30 millionth time. I stood there frozen at the computer. And when I opened the pdf file. I almost stopped breathing!

I wanted to share this with ya'll Its not that I don't accept your congratulations. It was a friend of our family said Congrats. And I grew up with her till I was 14. She knew my father, Tom. My emotions are all over the place. Does that makes sense?


Please accept my apology. Seems that everyone is happy that I found him but me. I'm not sad nor excited about it. Yano.. I am just not up for getting my hopes up and to be let down. And that is exactly where this is probably going to end up. So whats the use of getting a congratulation's and all when I don't feel that way.

I mean my sis said congrats. But she was being nice too. And since then.. I have had some members on my wedding forum say congrats. Just don't know where to place my feelings. Let alone, pin point what they are. I know I feel something. Maybe that word is lost.

I grew up with only my mom and her family so though I don't completely know your own situation I can understand some of it.
When we first got engaged the first thing my mom said was "we should contact your father. The least he could do is help pay for your wedding"

I think my congratulations came from a place of: You now know your biology, that isn't something you have to wonder about anymore. If any medical situations come up, you have someone to go to for answers. That in itself could be a huge relief.

I don't think any of us think you should replace your dad. What an amazing man for raising you, when it is clear he didn't have to.

I certainly wish this wasn't a walk that you had to take on your own, but it will work itself out however you need it to.

Don't put any pressure on yourself or Jerry to "label" your relationship. It will be what it is.

I had a friend in a similar situation with her biological mother, and after finally meeting her, she was dissapointed, but she cherishes her stepmom even more now. She hears from her bio mom once or twice a year, and that is just how it is, and she has learned that that is okay with her too.

You will be fine. You may end up dissapointed, but you will learn and grow from having experienced it and be a better person for it.

I also finished the Invitations. And when my fingers are feeling better I will take pics.. lol They are so sore tonight.

Lets see what else I did.. .,... Oh I typed in ALL the lables for the invitations. Ugg.. that felt like it took forever! I have yet to print them off. I think I will wait till I assemble the invitations tomorrow.

And last but not least I managed to get all the supplies I need to monogram our aisle runner. I have the poster printed off. I just need to cut it the cropped sides off and place it together on the black cardboard I bought, using painters tape.

This IS the last DIY I am going to be doing. I have 3 months left and I need to do a lil bit of things to pull them all together. As well as contact all my vendors at least twice more before the wedding.

Last night I thought we were not going to be albe to get married. I did a test to see how much I would get back on my w2. This money is all going towards the wedding. So it is important that we get a couple grand out of it.

I did it and it said $914! I cryed so hard that you would of thought someone died. Rick was upset trying to calm me down. It really was the worst feeling EVER!

I woke up this morning and re did them. And I was wrong.. lol We will get the 2 k we were hoping for. I wanted 3k. But I claimed 3 on my w4 this year.

If anyone wants to get a grip on there wedding.. Try thinking it is NOT going to happen! Suddenly small things like Chrissy not ordering here dress yet! Seems not much of a big deal at all.

I think after having this happen. I will be able to remain calmer. Not letting the little stuff bother me.

Also today I got all the stamps for the invitations. They weigh 1 oz. woo hoo so I only needed to get 100 stamps.

Also.. I bought the velum for the unity candle. I am going to print it off tonight. And make my unity candle. I will get pics.

Ohhh and... I was crying again through out the day. I talked to Jimmy. ( bio father) And he said he cant get me off his mind. He thinks about how much he has missed over the past 33 years. It makes me cry when he thinks about it. I started to cry when I heard him say I didn't even get to Rock you to sleep. or bounce you on my knee.

Hearing that makes me cry. I didnt know all these emotions would come out. And I am glad I listen to God's sign telling me to call. Really he did. I prayed about it. And said.. yano what.. if you want me to do this.. I need a bigger sign then stummbling on his phone number. I need a sign thats crystal clear.

As God and Rick are my witness.. Right after I prayed I came in the living room to check emails and get on Onewed. And there sits a email from my sister. First sentence was.. Hey, I been meaning to ask you.... What ever happended with you finding Jimmy's phone number..Did you ever call it?

My waterproof paper came in today but I am not as excited for it yet.

Its not glossy, as I would of liked. I assumed it would be like Photo paper but shiny.
I thought MAYBE I could get away with using a inkjet. Nope.. my black slightly rubs off. Can you imagine everyone getting black streaks on their clothes!So I am making a trip to Kinko;s for the last time. To get the unity candle printed off and the water bottle labels done too. I might go ahead and buy water.

Oh and I forgot to add to my to do list for FEB. Feb 15th 8 am I am candy shopping for the candy buffet.

Whew it has been a long week... I am so glad it Friday tomorrow! I talked with my photpgrapher and she asked me to send her my invitation and STD. I might try to start up something with wedding planning.. But we will see after the wedding. She will take pics of my DIY at the wedding.. ( close ups)

My mom made our unity candle (pics in my journal), we finalized the bridesmaid dresses last night so we just need to order them and I picked up a super deal today on hurricane vases - I got 20 for $80 off of kijiji so we are going to do those golf centerpieces now.

Sigh.... As some of you know I contacted my bio father back in June. We have met. And have kept in touch since then. Well tonight he said some things that are dear to my heart that I never thought I would ever hear. Let alone think I would "feel" anything after hearing them.

He is sending me a b day card. And a lil something for my b day and wedding. I told him he didn't have to. And he said.. if i had to.. id send a million cards.. ( teary eyes)

To break the moment.. I said.. well if you did that I'd be really old... lol... And his response was.... Not if I sent them every day.:(

He also last sat. said something that stuck in my heart a lil. I asked how he was doing, and we got on the topic of why I didn't call sooner than 32 years. I said I was afraid of rejection. And he said if I were a different race.. he would still claim me as his. He didnt care.

Sounds like you are both taking it one step at a time. That is a good thing. IMO
He sounds as if he really wants to try and be a part of your life. Take it at your own pace, I'm sure he'll understand. I hope that you never have to feel that rejection you fear.

Its so nice that you guys can start to build a relationship. Take things slow and continue it one day at a time and go from there. You've got a good head on your shoulders by the sounds of things so you'll know how to play your cards.

Sigh.... As some of you know I contacted my bio father back in June. We have met. And have kept in touch since then. Well tonight he said some things that are dear to my heart that I never thought I would ever hear. Let alone think I would "feel" anything after hearing them.

He is sending me a b day card. And a lil something for my b day and wedding. I told him he didn't have to. And he said.. if i had to.. id send a million cards.. ( teary eyes)

To break the moment.. I said.. well if you did that I'd be really old... lol... And his response was.... Not if I sent them every day.:(

He also last sat. said something that stuck in my heart a lil. I asked how he was doing, and we got on the topic of why I didn't call sooner than 32 years. I said I was afraid of rejection. And he said if I were a different race.. he would still claim me as his. He didnt care.

Wow Deanna, I can't even begin to imagine all the emotions and feelings that you must be dealing with right now.

Here are my thoughts. You obviously contacted him for a reason and have stayed in contact with him. There is nothing wrong with having your guard up because if he does hurt you, you are an adult and knew that it may be a possibility. I think by taking it day by day, time will tell how the relationship is going. Don't be scared, just be aware. I agree with Mrs. Geoff, he does sound like he missed you and wants to have a relationship with you.

Im doing ok. The wall is up. But when he says things like what I stated earlier... I notice I become this nieve lil girl who wants nothing more than to be a daddys girl. The adult part of me holds that lil girl in. And when I have a few glasses of wine, lol I slip up and think about what could of been... yano. I think its only natural for me to go back and forth yet scared of beiung hurt.

I never had a relationship with my biological father and to be honest I don't know if I would ever have the guts to do what you have done.

Thank you:o I didnt have the guts either, I asked my sister to do it.. lol I just didnt want to deal with what ever type of emotions come after a rejections. Honestly when I found out that he wanted something to do with me. I really thought I needed counseling. My mind was all over the place.

But I am at peace right now. God is the one who wanted me to get in touch with him. I know.. weird.. But Im telling ya after praying about it.. And me saying.. " God you know me.. I need hard core signs.. You know how I like it. Or I will question it every day. No sooner than I walked out of my bedroom and checked my email... There sits a email from my sis.. Subject.. " Hey what ever happpened with your dad?"

Later that night induced by alcohol, I cried myself to sleep... Asking God why would he want me to tourture myself like this. Cant I just live my life with a "Name" I dont need to know him..

Last thing I said before going to sleep with my eyes all puffy and thinking about my "sign" I said.. Ok.. But when I am right here in this bed.. Crying and asking Why.. you better make me feel better.. Yoiu hear me.. LOL..

I think all we have left as far as vendors is the church to be paid. I am buying Ricks ring tonight.. And.. ummmm Jeremy's tux ( Ricks BIL) ( we said we would pay for it.. He lost his job)

Oh and I need to make arrangments to rent the linens. I wonder if they are open on Sat. hmm.. I hate to do that over the net..

I just got off the phone with Jimmy. And he said he is trying to come up with the words to say, to tell his 2 sisters and brother about me. That I will be able to meet them but to give him time. I asked about his adopted daughter, if I would be able to meet her too. And he said.. with a laugh in his voice. Well I hope so..

We got on the topic of my mom and how she does not act like a grandmother. That my kids have never had a grandfather. And he said well don't worry they have a papaw now.
