First WebLady's now ours...!
I just had the freaking FIRE DEPARTMENT out to my house this evening because it smelled like smoke. DH is gone and I was totally freaking out. I turned off his computer and started sniffing around the house like crazy until I couldn't stand it anymore and just called. I tried to call the fire department directly because I didn't really feel like it was an emergency, but ended up having to call 911 to get them.
They came over, got my neighbors all excited, and it turns out my AC shorted out! It's going to be a hot night. We have a guy coming over at 8 in the morning to look at our unit. This will be the third time in about a year we've had the AC guy over. We're getting to be regular friends. :bbcry:

Haha, a couple of them were pretty cute. Of course my house was a mess and I had dirty hair and zero makeup on. I am sure at first they thought I was just some lonely housewife who just wanted to be rescued by some firemen. :winktongue: I was soooo embarrassed that I had to call 911 for our stupid air conditioner.

LOL I couldn't resist asking .... we had a fire scare at one place I worked a number of years back. All of the women (ok ok me included) in my office just stood outside and openly gawked at the guys like a pack of teenage girls.

Oh yes, that was my first thought!!

I'm sorry! I'll sweat with you, we don't have air conditioning here. The only thing to miss about my old apt...

I feel for you, just got done with driving 400 miles in a truck with a/c that works, but if I run it, I wind up over heating the thing and dead on the highway. Then some customer doesn't get their freight. And who knows it may just be your wedding dress, so I truck on and suffer.

Oh my gosh, that sucks. I feel you're pain; we've had our AC go out and it was sooooo hot in our apartment. Open the fridge/freezer and cool off. Hope the AC guy comes soon!

Hope you get it fixed soon. Heat index is supposed to be over 100 degrees here today with humidity!

The AC guy just left. Had to (surprise, surprise) replace the motor. But it never got hotter than 84 degrees in here! So it wasn't too bad. Whew!
