Has anyone gotten a can koozie as a wedding favor? I was thinking of doing can koozies or plastic cups. I think we will end up having a keg so the cups would work better but I also like the idea of koozies. I would be getting a large bulk order so the cost will come down with the amount we would order.
Do you think it's a good/ok favor?

Would this be ok you ask? Well, I think it depends on the theme and feel of your reception. If your event is more of a laid back (which I assume it is if you are having a keg) type party and not so much a formal thing, then it should be fine.
However I think the koozies would make better favors; you should have cups available to use with the keg anyway.
Maybe something personalized like this-

I think there was another member here not too long ago that did this; I think it was Lauren/SouthernQueenBride.

yeah it's a really laid back reception, with like 400 guests. I was thinking of the collapsable koozies. Kinda like the photo attached. They would be $.81 a piece. I just wanted to make sure nobody thought it was too cheesy or anything. I might be able to find them cheaper, I know i have some sites marked at home. But that's less than $1 per person per favor which I thought was good.
What is an average you spend on favors per person?

I think that's an awesome favor! I use those all the time when we go to outdoor festivals, whatever random free ones I get. They're so handy! I think I spent about $.50/favor and it was hershey kisses in a box.

I think both are great ideas. The only thing I would be concerned about (and I have to keep telling myself this time and time again when decided what kinds of favors to do) is if people are going to forget them or in the case of the cups, not reall notice them. At first, I thought the cups were a good idea, but then, I realized that somebody could leave it or throw it away not knowing if it was to keep or not. Then, hypothetically, if they took it, and had beer in it, and got pulled over on the way home, a cop could accuse the guest of drinking and driving.
Sorry for my ramble - I may be totally overthinking this, but long story short, go with the collapsing koozies!!

I think the koozies are a better idea than the cups, especially if you expect people to use the cups at the reception. I wouldn't be likely to take home something that I had been drinking out of that night.

Now I need to talk to FH to see if koozies are ok with him and decide what we will want for a design on them. I have some some sites that have them super cheap.

i think it's wonderful! i would go with the koozies also, but i've seen some really awesome cups. (my mom works at a promotion product company) i'm thinking of doing shot glasses with the monogram i made. (and of course something else for kids)

I ordered koozies months ago for my daughter's wedding (almost forgot i had them, ha) They were $140 for 200 of them with our own design.
I'll take a picture later and post it tomorrow for u to see em!

P.S. I wanted to do shot glasses for the bachelorette party this weekend but they were all sooooooooooo expensive unless u ordered LOTS of them (which i didn't need that many) bummer.
Yeah, I think that the koozie is a better idea than the cup too. For a casual wedding it works well. A friend had the ones that said, "To have, to hold, and to keep your beer cold." with their names on it. I think that we ended up spending about $1 on each of our tea and cookie favors.

I think the koozies are a great idea. I love koozies and I have a friend who brings them to me when he gets them free all the time. I know our friends would all really love them, but they don't really go with our wedding at the country club. If you're having a casual wedding, go for it.

Another option for the shot glasses is buying plain shot glasses and clear shipping labels that you can print from your computer and personalizing them yourself, or ordering personalized stickers. Then use a pottery glaze over the sticker to seal it on. A friend suggested it for my bachelorette party and I'm going to try it, I'll let yall know how it works out. The only thing is you'd probably have to be REALLY careful washing them... and they could probably get really tacky if not done really well (which is what I'm kind of worried about... I might do a tester or two a couple of weeks head of time)
