Oh man, it is like 80 degrees in our house right now ... poor hubby is working on it, but I had to put on some lighter clothes.

We have noticed it acting up the last week or so and thought it was the thermostat, but DH replaced that last night and there was no change. Then today he tried to put the old one back on and now the air won't come on at all :o

We need some good vibes that hubby can fix it and/or get someone to fix it soon and that it won't cost a lot!

Well the UK reached the heady heights of 30 Degrees Today. And we don't have AC. This is England after all LOL.

My Brothers Girlfriend is from Georgia and whenever it gets Hot here she asks where the AC is.

Then she thinks we are mad when we just open a Window and say "There It Is"

Well, DH put the new thermostat on again since apparently the old one went completely caput; everything seems to be working fine for now.

So the house is slowly cooling off again; I don't guess there is much else we can do unless it breaks down again ... hope it doesn't!

DH's uncle used to work with AC's so he is gonna call him and see what the problem might have been and if there is anything we can or should do.

Gald you were able to get it working! I love my A/C and would seriously go crazy if it broke on a hot day. Expeically for at night. I'm one of those people that can't sleep unless I"m curled under blankets.
So hopefully your continues to work for you!! I would be a long night if not

Oh, thank goodness you got it fixed!! That'd be a nightmare!! The AC went out in my car a couple of weeks ago and it's into the 100s here now...ick! I can't imagine if it were my house!

Good thing it is fixed!! Charlie would be dying....I turn the AC off for a SECOND and he starts complaining that it is too hot! He is such a wimp :)

I would die without AC though...the next couple days are supposed to be 100

I'm glad your DH is so handy. I would not like it very much with no A/C...and Bruce would just die. He loves our house to be ice cold. He works in the heat all day...AND pays the electricity bill...so who am I to argue??

I am not a fan of AC, guess I should live in the UK. DH must have it on at all times.

lol I hear ya Brandy! I don't mind warmer weather and I'm usually pretty good with just some circulation or a fan or something....FH likes to have it like an ice box...but once it gets passed 75 its time for a little refrigerated air!

Mitch~ I do like when its cool enough her to just open the house up (windows and doors) to let the air blow through but sometimes it get to the point that even the air blowing through is hot in itself! Then A/c is definatley a plus!

LOL I only turn our window unit on about 7 days out of the whole year but then again, we are in a basement apartment. It might be a different story when we get into the house.

I don't think it would be so bad if the house was set up to allow the air to "flow through" but alot of times when we open the windows you have to do it in everyroom in order for the air to flow.

But we usually keep the air on 75 in the summer and 70 in the winter & it stays pretty comfortable....like I said I love the early spring and late fall when we can just open the windows and doors and turn the fans on and the house stays so comfortable

If finally cooled off last night and everything seems fine now. I just hope it stays that way since DH is working out of the house today.

I'm glad its starting to work for you, Brandi.

I'd completely die if our AC stopped working.. Our apartment is right above the washer and dryers.. o.o;

Well we are still having intermittent issues with the AC. The last few days it seems to shut off at various times and the house will start to get hot.

This usually happens later in the day and DH will turn it off and back on and it will be fine for a while. He thinks it is some relay messed up.

Anyway, I woke up today, took a shower and felt hot. I looked at the thermostat and it is 80 degrees in the house and the air is not on :bbeek:

So I call DH to ask him what he does to reset it and it doesn't seem to work for me. I am suppose to wait a few minutes then try again. But if I can't get it to work it will just be hot all day!

So I have all the fans in the house on and all the doors open and as many lights off as possible trying to keep it fairly cool just in case. Man, I hope it will reset and then DH can fix it soon!
