Lord help me- dress shopping today

I'm going dress shopping today for the first time. Honestly I have not worn a dress in like 20 years (I'm 26 ;) ) I am NOT a dress person, everyone is very lucky I am even considering a dress. I have an identical twin sister and she too is the same way. We have a family friend and she is just SO excited because both of us will be in dresses. My sister and I grew up on a farm, were tomboys and grew up drag racing, working on cars....that kind of stuff.

Oh I'm so nervous! I'm off to get ready. My mom and sister will be here in 45 mins and we are going to meet FH's mom and then another of my bridesmaid.

Well we went to 3 places. didn't find anything at the first one. Didn't even try anything on, we were just glancing real quick. I had an appointment at the second one and tried on I think 5 dresses. Of course they don't have the style I want. I want short sleeves with a square neckline. I don't want strapless, but i did try on strapless. I didn't really care to go to david's bridal but that was our last stop. Tried on like 20 dresses it seems like and nothing jumped out. Two of my BM tried on lots of dresses. Found a couple they don't mind. I have two BM that want something covering the shoulder and one that wants strapless. Which is fine if they want different, but I would like them to be kinda similar. So we didn't find 'the one'. We are going to go to other places. The strapless one I tried on is very similar to the one I want. the one I like is Bonny style 430 I think is the number. well the strapless I tried on is similar to it, but of course without sleeves. I felt ok in it, but still not so sure about strapless. since it was similar for the lower part of the one I like I think I will be extremely comfortable in the bonny with sleeves. The bonny I want I can order it online, but getting alterations would be the problem. Making sure I can find someone to do that. I can also have one of the bridal shops order it for me.

I think we will go to a few more places and keep looking around. I asked how soon we need to order so we have a deadline when we need to order.

Oh FYI one of the ladies at the shops said if you are thinking in terms of months left to order do NOT cound in Jan. She said pretty much all of the wedding dresses are made in china now. they used to be made in the US, but now china. In Jan. is the new year and hardly any work gets done in China that month because the new year is a big deal in china.

Sounds good. Looks like you've got your work cut out for you. I am the same way, I dislike dresses. I went to Davids Bridal for 3 hours, and got my girls, and my dress.

Im not going to be looking around. LOL.
