We are planning a wedding and we have a questions. Is it typical to feed the vendors? Our first inclination is to do so, however since there are steps we must take, maybe this is overreacting on our part. What are your thoughts please?

It is very much appreciated by the vendors (especially the ones that will be there with you for hours on end). As a wedding photographer, I am usually with my clients for about 8-9 hours (sometimes longer) & that makes for a very long day. I've had a couple weddings that the clients didn't include me for the meal & by the end - I was shooting horribly.
Hope that helps.

I spend an average of 8-12 hours with a couple on their wedding day, so I definitely get hungry!
I always appreciate having a place to sit (or more likely, to sit my stuff) and a meal to eat. I can completely understand when a bride and groom's budget is tight and they don't have money to feed their vendors, but most halls will offer a cheaper vendor meal or I would like to know in advance so that I can plan to stop at a fast food restaurant between the ceremony and the reception.
As long as I have a spot that I can put my stuff (preferrably at a table near a wall with a plug) and a little time to grab food somewhere that day, I am a very happy photographer!
You may want to ask your vendors what they would prefer.
Good Luck!
