We have added quite a few new forums lately and someone else suggested maybe adding a few more.

One of the suggestions was a forum for Second time brides for those planning renewals and/or those getting married for the second time. Do you all think we need a separate forum for this sort of thing?

Any other ideas for other forum categories?

*shrug* I don't really see the need. I'm a second time bride, and I don't think my planning requires or involves anything any different than any other bride. Everyone's weddings are of different levels of detail and elaborance (is that a word? )...

I was sort of thinking the same, but then wondered if we'd attract more 2nd time brides and those doing vow renewals if we had a forum for it.

I think maybe Destination Weddings might be worth its own forum, but we get a lot of spam on that topic too; anyone have thoughts on this?

Destination weddings could feasibly use its own section, just because there are so many details NOT involved in a traditional wedding (so having it all in one place might eliminate a lot of repeat questions/make it easier for detination brides to find info specifically for them).

I do like the idea of a destination wedding place. We do tend to have a lot of questions on that topic.

I agree with adding a DW bride forum.

Since I was destination bride, I'll weigh in on this one. I don't think a special forum would have really helped me much in my planning. There are so many different destinations and each one is so different that what worked for one destination bride might not work for another who is being married elsewhere. Just through the Bride Chat forum I was able to find at least 2 other brides on OW that also got married in Gatlinburg and get their input and advice on things. Since I have gotten married, I know that I have helped at least 1 more Gatlinburg bride with info. I think if someone is going to participate in the forum, they will search out people who can help.

I am somewhat of the opinion that less is more- as it is now, I don't think I get the chance to visit all the forums everyday, so I would be concerned that we would end up with too many forums and lose the closeness of the OW family. Just my .02 cents!

Okay...so I just re-read this thread and have to say that I do agree with what Nee said about the extra details. Maybe I need to eat my words from my previous post. :D I guess having a general forum for Destination Weddings might be a good idea after all. I do still subscribe to my "less is more" theory though and hope we don't get too many more forums!

We certainly don't want to have too many forums where it gets confusing or anything. But when there are a bunch of random topics clustered in one forum, it can get just as confusing.

Sure there is the search feature, but no everyone uses that all the time. So when we see topics that get brought up a lot we start to wonder if a separate forum would be a good idea. That way people that want to talk about such things can find the forum for it easier and the people that don't will not have to search through it to find what they want.

Other forums we have made to expand our focus to other areas of our lives so that people can come here to help plan their wedding and stick around after the wedding too!

A separate forum might be nice for second (third, 4th, 5th ....) brides but as far as I was concerned the only thing that I might have encountered that first timers may not have, is how to handle step children, ex inlaws etc. I don't see a problem discussing these issues and others in the regular forums.

I think it would be nice to have a separate forum for honeymoon discussion, as there are usually a lot of posts about honeymoon locations and whatnot.

I dunno about any additions to Forums. But RevMatty and Myself have been knocking Jokes back and forth so maybe they should be "Tidied Up" into one Joke Thread.

We have a "Joke" Thread on the Forum i Admin. There's something like 18 pages of them now. Not all i can copy and paste here without upset folk

I don't think we need a whole forum just for jokes, but maybe we can do a continuous thread for jokes; kind of like the "What's for dinner" one that everyone can add their own to.

EDIT: I just re-read your post and see that is actually what you were suggesting  so we will do that ;)
