...when it storms and there is no roof on your house.

Our landlord is in the process of putting a new roof on our house. It decided to storm today and this is what happened to our back porch. The rest of our apartment has more leaks than I can count. Let's just say that I am NOT happy, and I can't handle this stress right now.

I can't wait to move out of this :censored: hole. And my 6 month old dryer is in that part of the house and if it gets ruined I am going to make my landlord buy me a new dryer.

Oh no, that's terrible!

I'll never forget a few months ago, coming into work and seeing part of the ceiling in pieces on a co-worker's desk. And the smell...yikes. Unfortunately, we did not get a day off for asbestos. I was hoping we would, but apparently it was nothing harmful, just annoying and smelly.

I got to leave work and get away from the disaster zone-I can't imagine having to live in it.

Wow, that looks worse than I imagined when you were talking about it in the chat. At least you were able to get your wedding stuff safe from it all... and hopefully your dryer is alright!

I'd check with a lawyer if I were you on laws protecting you as a renter. I know here in Minnesota, you can refuse to pay rent if a place is a he**hole, however you need to get the courts invovled.

OH WOW! I agree with RevMatty's idea, get with a lawyer to work that out.

Oh wow. That sucks. I'm so sorry! Hopefully nothing was ruined that you can't replace. Good luck dealing with the landlord!

I literally just said out loud, "Well that just sucks doesn't it?!?"...Yikes. I'm so sorry.

Oh dear, that's awful! :bbcry: I hope your landlord is easier to deal with than mine is - ours won't fix anything, no matter how bad it is!! Good luck, and remember not to back down because it IS their fault!!

I'm not getting a lawyer because it's really not that big of a deal. My landlord has already been here to clean it all up and he is going to repair the damage. Also, the roof people have been scrambling to get the rest of the roof done in case it rains again.

My house isn't really that crappy, it was just a bad time for a big storm to come.

Oh that is awful. I'm sorry. I hope he gets it fixed up for you soon. Geesh you don't need this a week before your wedding!
