With 2 days to go before my wedding, let me give you advice... take the week off, or at least 3 days off, before the wedding.
I'm sitting here at work, and hating being here! There is sooo much to do, and I can't believe I didn't think of this before!!
At least I had the forsight to take tommorow off!!!

Im hoping I can do that, but it depends on what my boss has going on. I know that I aleast will be taking the day before off, because I have to go pick up the tables and chairs before 5. I could do it the day of before 12, but thats pushing it a little close!

First, Shawna, God bless you for being able to work the Thursday before your wedding. How can you concentrate? What a trooper! I am also taking the week off before Amber's wedding. I think she has Thursday and Friday off. I want to make sure we have all the little things done.

Also, Shawna, if I don't have a chance to say this later, good luck on your wedding! I know it will be wonderful!! I can't wait to see your wedding pictures!

I took the 3 days off before. SOOO much to do. Thursday I'm getting my hair colored, my nails and eyebrows done. Friday we have from 1 to 3 to decorate the hall and then the rehearsal dinner after that. Hopefully I'll have everything else done that needs to be done!! 2 more days Shawna...WOW!!! Are you excited? nervous? anxious? I'm excited for you.

First off, Shawna I can't beelive your the next in line to get married. I can't wait untill I am at that point. Take it easy and enjoy your day. I have been there and it goes by realy fast. And dont forget us. We want all the details when you get back.

Secondly, I am taking the 2 days before the wedding off. We are leavign Thrusday afternoon to head to Maine. So we have Friday to get things together before the rehersal and then Sat. to finish up before the ceremony at 4. And then because every one will be in town and headed out Sunday we are planning a late breakfast with every one before we all go our seperate ways. We want to be able to see his family again before they head back to WV and I want to see the kids before we take off for a couple of days.

I am taking the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off before the wedding from my day job and I am taking the entire week off from my evening job--much to my boss' dismay. I wanted at least a day in there to relax and rest before everything went HAYWIRE AGAIN! And I needed all day Friday off because we have the lodge all day for decorating and getting ready. Which also meant I needed all day Thursday off for EVERYTHING else I'll have to do. :)

One of the temporary assignments I was interviewed for was for a woman who was getting married and she was taking a WHOLE MONTH off! Two weeks before and two weeks after! Wish I had that kind of vacation time. I hate being a temp because a day I take off comes out of my pocket! I can feel sicker than a dog but I still have to drag myself into work because I can't afford to take the time off...I'm just hoping we get enough money at the wedding to cover our rent for the next month AND have some left to put into savings...we'll see...

Yeah, no more work for another week and a half!!!!!
Tommorow (Friday) I'm going to get a bikini wax (ouch!), facial, body rejuvination scrub (no idea, but sounds nice) and hair color. I want tommorow to be a relaxing day spent with my sister and mom.
I feel so calm and happy right now. I 'visited' my dress tonight at my Mom's house, and she's so pretty. I can't wait to wear her.
I may check in tommrow with you guys, but maybe not.
If I don't I just want to say thank you to everyone for all your support and help over the last little while. It has been invaluable to me, more than you will ever know.

Love you all,
Shawna

I am taking Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off before our wedding. My MOH is coming in from Wisconsin so I want time for us to just hang out and relax. Not having to worry about getting all this stuff done last minute then not have time to catch up with her.

I found out this weekend that Brian is working the DAY OF our wedding. Its not really a big deal, but he doesnt have a choice. He will get off work at 3 or 3:30pm and the weddings not till 7pm so he has plenty of time. I will have everything set up by then anyway!!!

Wow that's no fun! Hopefully him not being there won't add to much stress to you. Mark lucked out that its NOT his Saturday to work. But it's the best mans saturday. The music store will probaly have to close early since everyone who works there is coming to the wedding.

Steve starts a new job in two weeks. I told him to let them know the first day that he is getting married October 7 and he needs off. Hopefully they are ok with that.

I think it makes Brian feel better about taking 3 days off the next week for the honeymoon. Hes sooooo scared hes going to be leaving his boss in a bind. I try telling him that his boss understands!!!!

Sean is actually taking off more dayd for the wedding than I am. He is taking a half day Wednesday after a meeting then all day Thursday and Friday. I am taking off Friday. I told them I would come into work on Friday too since I really feel that I should be there getting my students ready for the finals since I won't be there to adminster them myself. But the scheduling secretary won't hear of it. She is mad that I insist on coming in Thursday. Quite frankly if it isn't done by then, it doesn't need done.

I am graduating on December 16. So school with be over 2 weeks before the wedding. I am getting a job in the fall, but I am going to quit the week before finals. Hence I will have 2 weeks off before the wedding. Then I will have a week off afterward and then hopefully I will have my first "real job" to go to the following week.

Justin is taking off the day before the wedding and the week after.

I worry that if i start a job in May it will be difficult to get time off in the beginning of June. I am kinda thinking i might just do my freelance stuff and try to get a couple extra jobs for that month and worry about getting a job to start in early June. I'm really not sure what to do there.

Jenn, don't worry about it too much. If you make sure they know that going in, then it won't be a big problem. Besides, how many people are going to tell a bride she can't have the day of her wedding off? :)

So I must be the only one around here that doesn't have a job. I am getting married the summer between my junior and senior years of nursing school, and with the wedding being in the middle of the summer, my FH has requested that I not work this summer, one so I can finish all the wedding planning in the six weeks before, and also so that after the wedding so that we can spend his time off together before I have to move back to school. Yes, that's right I'm getting married and living an over an hour away at college, but the way I look at it I'll just get the priviledge of honeymooning every weekend for the first year. He also works a crazy shift work schedule, so it would make it even harder for us to have any time together.

You're definitely not the only one Dana! I don't have a job yet either. I'm graduating in May from respiratory therapy. The hospital I did my internship at this semester is holding a position open for me though. I should start there by June 1st if it all works out well.
