I was a professional painter for 13 years....so about every 6 months, I get bored and paint a room. This time I wanted the living room red.

Just thought I'd share.

Very nice :D

Is the wall textured or is that some sort of effect you did?

Well, not really. I was a painter since I was 18...then was a personal assistant for a Parkinson's patient...then started where I am now last year. Three ain't bad! (Not including random fast food places when I was a young teen.)

We are putting an offer in on a house tomorrow. How would you like to come to Montreal and paint :) :) :) :)

Or ....... could you give me some tips on prepping the walls? I work for a company that makes spray paint equipment (HVLP) and so borrowing a system isn't a problem.

I would LOVE to! Though....you'd have to foot the bill for that plane ticket. That can't be cheap!

And I personally would rather cut/roll the walls than to spray. Too much masking and overspray issues. I can roll a wall way faster than spraying. (That's me, though, of course...)

I love it! I have tan walls in our living room with Red accidents (kinda of Tuscan). I've been tempted to pain one wall red, hmmm....a project in sight perhaps!? lol

i really like the change, personally im not a big fan of red, but it really looks good and seems to work really well with your stuff! (i love how it makes that mantle stand out!)
but i wanted to say when i read the title of the thread i heard in my head that song from alice in wonderland "painting the roses red! painting the roses red!"

It looks really good. We are trying to get a house and we should know this week hopefully if we are good to go. I can't wait to paint and I've been getting decorating books at the library. I'd be afraid to paint a room that dark hehe. Chris would freak out, he's not into color and stuff...he's kinda blah like that. Lol.

We found out the hard way that painting a room red is only good to do if you own the place :) We got permission and all to paint, but were told we had to paint it back white when we moved out. We didn't think it would be as hard as it was!!

I love red walls though and you did a great job!
