I wasn't sure where to post this, so I'll start it off here...

Well, a friend of ours knew how important it was to me not to stay at our house for our wedding night, so he got us a room at the Fairfield Inn off Hwy 80 in Sacramento for our wedding night. I was SO HAPPY that we didn't have to stay in the house!!! By the time Matt and I made it to our room, showered and relaxed for a lil bit, we were starving! We didn't eat much all day of course, so we went to the Silver Skillet truck stop across the street - the only food for miles besides BK.

We had the best meal we'd had in what seemed like forever!! (Beware, I got pics of tons of stuff.... menus, receipts, food we ate, etc!)

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1004.jpg

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1005.jpg

So after our wedding night, we needed a ride to the airport. However, a small problem. We had to check out of the hotel by noon, and our flight didn't leave till 8pm on the 7th. So Matt's mom picked us up and we went back to our house to help unload stuff from the barn. My mom, my stepdad and Matt's mom worked till 3am emptying out the barn the night of the wedding!!!! So we helped unload stuff, went to lunch and opened our gifts till around 4 when Matt's mom took us to the airport.

Getting ready to GO!!!!!

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1014.jpg

Checking in. We hit traffic real bad on the way there, since it was a weekday. So we left at 4 even though our plane didn't leave till 8. We ended up getting to the airport around 4:45... so we had a LOT of time to walk around the airport and familiarize ourselves.

We hit the CPK (yes, I guess we do have them in Cali LOL) and hung out there for awhile.. we each had a drink - on empty stomachs, so that helped us have more fun while we were hanging out. We both were quite the lightweights before we finally got to eat hehehe!!

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1016.jpg

Finally on the plane from Sac to Vegas

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1026.jpg

Now, I've always collected Keychains. Wherever I'd go that was new and exciting I'd get a keychain. I have like 100 keychains from the past 15 years. So Matt and I decided that WE would start a collection together, and I'd stop collecting keychains. So we started a magnet collection - all the different places we go TOGETHER, we will get a magnet.

So we started in Vegas - Matt's never been there before, but we only had an hour layover, so we couldn't leave the airport.

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1041.jpg

Neither one of us had ever been to North Carolina either.. so we of course, got a pic of us eating at the Carolina Beer Co. I didn't get a pic of the magnet we got here yet oops!!

We had a long layover in Charlotte - about 2 hours. But it took about an hour just to get our food LOL.

Here's our first glimpse of Jamaica WOOHOO!!!!

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1058.jpg

Finally on the bus to go to our resort.... WIERD - they drive on the left hand side of the road over there.... and most of the vehicles are right hand drive. So it's really interesting when we're driving. It took over 2 hours to get to the resort from Montego Bay. Next time we're going to go to a resort closer to the airport I think.

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1062.jpg

I got this pic for Danielle :grinhappy:. On the way to the resort, the bus driver stopped for everyone to get a bite to eat/drink or whatever else they wanted to do. We walked into this little bar and from the ceiling was draped net, with shells in the net. I got another pic too, but they're both kinda blurry. I thought it was a brilliant touch to the place, being right across the street from the beach and all!

At the little pitstop, Matt got his first taste of Jamaica's favorite Rum Punch (Kirby, I recommend you try it if you like sweet drinks - it's pretty yummy!!!!)

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1085.jpg

Finally, checking in to the resort.... it was interesting they couldn't find our information. By that time I was ready to give them a piece of my mind (so tired of traveling).

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1097.jpg

But they finally found us and got us situated - which leads me to the room number plack. This little gecko was ALWAYS on our room number plack! It was hularious - we named him BigMike (after one of our friends), and he never disappointed us. He was so reliable. We ended up getting the PERFECT room. It was very simple, a bed room with a small and simple bathroom, but located in the perfect location - central to everything! IF we ever make it back to that specific resort, we'd get a room in the same area probably.

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1098.jpg

Here we are, after getting situated in our rooms, we were STARVING!!! So we went for a walk and found the "Barefoot Bistro". It was open whenever all the big restaurants on the resort weren't open. They offered salads, burgers, sandwiches, nachos, fries, pizza - quick and easy food. So our first meal was there, I had chicken skewers and nachos, and Matt had a burger and nachos.

I got done first, so I went around taking pictures while he finished up.... Here's the view from the beach to Matt:

And from where we sat and ate to the beach!

Alright, so Matt and Sierra want me to go play Scene it right now, so I'm going to se Photobucket to downloading, and I'll be back in a lil bit to upload some more!!

Of all the restaurants on the resort, they had several international, carribean, and italian cuisines. They had one 'Western Cuisine' restaurant called The Arizona. Their food was pretty good. Our first night for dinner, we went to 'San Genaros'. Italian food YUMMYYY!!! I got an alfredo type pasta (I think...?) and it was pretty good. I didn't keep track of EVERYTHING I ate, just most of it (in pictures).

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1131.jpg

We took this on our way to San Genaros, I LOVE this picture!!!!

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1129.jpg

After San Genaros we wanted to walk around and see what was what around our room. We found a HUGE chess board!!!! This was awsome!

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1132.jpg

I was fascinated by the lush greenery and flowers and different type of plants and trees there in Jamaica. I got a lot of pics of the stuff I thought was either beautiful/unique/wierd/cool/whatever.

These were quite interesting!

Our first morning, I got up to go to the bathroom (TMI I know)... and I got up to flush, and there was a gecko right by the flusher.... STARTLED THE HECK OUT OF ME!!!!! He wouldn't move either!! Matt heard me say some choice words in the bathroom, and when he saw what it was he was laughing his butt off at me. So he wouldn't go into the bathroom till the thing was gone - then we didn't know where it went LOL.

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1147.jpg

I think this was our first morning there. We both wanted to go scuba diving, so we had to fill out forms and all this stuff and schedule the class so that we could actually go. I had 2 Mamosas by the time we made it to the dive shack, and hadn't had breakfast yet. So I was kinda tipsy when we went there to get the paperwork. The guys at the dive shack said "No drinking the night before your dive"... heheeee

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1153.jpg

We had to take a shuttle from one side of the resort to the other, since one side (the Riviera) was down on the beach, and the other side (the Manor) was across the main road up on the hill. I had to snap a pic of the sign heading in!

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1162.jpg

Up at the Manor, the largest pool on the grounds was HOPPIN!!! We played water volleyball (my new favorite!!) and met a lot of new couples.

So we went to the Marketplace for lunch. If any of you go to Sandals Grand Ocho Rios, you GOTTA try this place at lunch time. They're the BEST. They have a pasta bar where you can put whatever you want in your pasta, and then they'll give you the choice of white or red sauce, white or red wine, and sautee it up for you and it's YUMMYY. Both mine and Matt's favorite lunch place. Yeah, this is how we ate..... 2-3 times a day. I only gained 4 lbs while we were there!

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1171.jpg

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1172.jpg

Volleyball on Friday. Matt wasn't feeling well. Between the last two pictures, and the following pictures, we missed a whole day on this camera. We went on the "Katamaran Party Cruise" to Dunns River Falls. We cruised to the falls, hiked the 900 foot falls, then partied all the way back to the resort.... we all got wasted but we partied hard and met a bunch of new people. It was a BLAST and I recommend it to anyone going to the resort. The falls were GORGEOUS.... So that's a whole nother camera from the falls/the cruise/and the horseback riding that we haven't got to yet!

Anyway, back on track. The following picture - I was playing volleyball with a bunch of other folks, and Matt was an awsome cheerleader - sleeping off his night before. He got dehydrated from the party cruise, and didn't feel well till after 3pm the following day. So he lounged by the pool and took pics and drank water and sprite all day long.

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1264.jpg

And when we got back into our room late that night..

So the night that Matt was recovered (Friday night) they had the weekly "Friday Night Beach Party" and buffet. It was a beautiful buffet, and they had a lot of entertainment as well. Here's a couple pics of the sculptures. I have a bunch more but loading them is taking SO LONG.

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1280.jpg

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1300.jpg

The next day we tried out one of the other pools on the Manor side... it has a tile water slide from one pool to the other, and my dumb butt slid down on my stomach - head first. I have a huge bruise, and I hurt my nose when I got water in it when I hit. I highly recommend NOT going down this slide head first. So I was recovering and Matt decided to get a pic hehehee

We went horseback riding on Sunday. It was fun, but since I grew up on horses, I was kind of disappointed. Matt had a blast, as did the beginners who went. I guess I set my hopes high before we went, and was disappointed the 'beach' we rode in (a muddy cove), and the horse they put me on wasn't very big, so it wasn't handling my big butt very well once we were in the water. Oh well, it was still an experience I'll never forget, and Matt had fun, so I'm sooo happy we did it. Those pics are on the water camera as well - in for developing right now.

The night after the horses, we hit The Arizona and tried their burritos (our second time at the Arizona btw)... their burritos and wings were off the HOOK!!! So by the time we got through the antipasto/nacho bar, salad, soup and drinks, we were stuffed by the time we got our appetizer. So we asked them to wrap up our leftovers for breakfast the next morning (was going to be ATV day).

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1360.jpg

ATV's were on Monday... they were tons of fun. Since I didn't get much of a challenge on the horses, I wasn't thinking I was going to get much of a challenge on the ATV's. However I was wrong!!!! They took us up into the hills, let us haul butt through the fields, and the tour guides were great fun to talk with. I would say the ATV's were almost as much fun as the party cruise... WAY better than the horses...

The ATV tour gave us a view of Jamaica in the hills. It was beautiful!

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1388.jpg

At the end of the ATV tour, they took us to Chukka Cove to go cliff jumping. They had a 16' ledge that most people jumped from. I jumped from about 8'. I injured my back on a high dive in the pool before, I wasn't about to do that again. The water was SO refreshing, and VERY salty.

Monday night was a party night up at the Manor, where they had different nationality stations such as Morrocan, Japanese, Italian, Jamaican, etc. Here's a few pics from the party:

(On the way - these flowers are gorgeous)

Not sure where the parrot comes in...??

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1423.jpg

One of the people there brought a whole trailer of fresh coconuts. He would use a machete and chop open the coconut just enough to put a straw in... then if you went to the bar, they'd put coconut rum in it. It was YUMMY

The food was pretty good.... having all the different nationalities gave us quite a variety to choose from. I'm a sucker for Italian food, so of course I had to hit the pasta hehehee.

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1433.jpg

And Matt had a lil of everything too

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1432.jpg

They had dancing and games after the meal, and they had the "Big Mammas" come out and dance, so Matt jumped out there and got freaky with one of em. It was HULARIOUS!!!!

Sometime on Friday, I developed a little bit of a rash on my arms. I thought it was cause of my deodorant, so I just stopped using it. Then the rash spread througout the week to my chest, arms and neck. It was ITCHY and hot and bumpy. I went to the nurse and she said that I was allergic to the Jamaican sun.... I told her I grew up outside, in the sun... and she insisted that it was different there. So, I'm assuming it's from a combination of the humidity and sun. These pics don't show even near as bad as it was. I'm still rashed up, but it's drying out slowly now. It was so bad that I didn't even want to go outside cuz whenever I'd get hot, the rash would get irritated. Whenever I was cool (in our room, or in the water) I was alright. But once I got outside/out of the water, I was miserable.

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1482.jpg

Tuesday morning we got complimentary breakfast delivered to our room.. we had pancakes, fried eggs, bread rolls, fruit, orange juice, a mamosa, and coffee. It was yummy and it was so nice to relax. Being our last full day in Jamaica, we ate up, and hit the pool for the day to soak up the sun before we had to leave.

The other Italian joint at the resort requires that men wear dress slacks and shoes with a button up collared shirt. Well, Matt didn't take any pants, so we had put off trying to eat there till Tuesday. Tuesday evening I told the hostess that I wanted to eat there, and I told her our predicament. She let us sit in another restaurant, and they still served us from Valentinos menu!!!! Come to find out (and I'm kickin myself for waiting so long), it was the BEST meal I had had the whole time I was there!! I'm a HUGE pesto feind (sp?)... and they had pesto on their menu. Not only that, it was SO YUMMY!!!!

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk196/HarrisWedding768/HoneyMoon/HONEYMOON1584.jpg

When we arrived in San Francisco, the guy at the desk said that they might need volunteers to opt out of the flight, due to weight reasons (overbooked I guess??). So we volunteered out, since it was only a 30 minute flight, and they said we'd get tickets to anywhere United Airlines flies for free! So my mom was going to pick us up IF they had to have us off the flight.

Well, unfortunately for us, a few people missed their flight, and we were able to fly out that night. The crappy thing was, Matt didn't fly easy at all! Check out the TEENSY plane we had to fly in!!

oh i SO LOVE all your pics, they get me so excited, we did decide on the dunns river sandals but I am sure we will visit ocho rios a day or two. how were the resturants, did you have a long wait or any problem getting seated?

The restaurants were great, but plan an 90 minutes for dinner. They seat you no problem, but you'll soon learn Jamaica Time means NO RUSH. You can sit for a long time between courses. But the food and the people are AWSOME. I LOVE the Jamaican culture... I can't wait to go back some day! You're going to LOVE IT!

No way!! It's the greatest thing ever that you had the idea to use the photographer for a little side photo shoot. That's just way too awesome for me to fully process the greatness of it at this late hour. LOL.

Awww, kitties!! Oh, I just want to pet them right now! I revert to a small child when I see a random animal. I'll yell out "kitty!", "bunny!", "birdie!" or even "squirrel!" in a childlike sing-song voice. It's adorable to Chad, but utterly annoying to others. LOL :worm:

LOL..... there were signs everywhere that said "Do not pet nor feed the cats". We didn't even see the cats till like our 3rd day, then we saw them all over the place. I just thought they were too cute sittin there.... posing for a pic :)

Haha, I am the same way... only I'm not sure if my fiance finds it adorable. He hasn't really said anything about it...haha.

And now the reply for the pictures! They are great! I was kind of contemplating going on a honeymoon, at least right after the wedding, and now I'm pretty sure I want one somewhere after seeing those pictures. It looks like it was very exciting.

I've also had that sun rash before... when we went to Florida for marching band, I had a rash all over the backs of my legs. Yuck.

Annnyway, I'm glad you guys had fun, and thanks for posting so many pictures; they were fun to look at.

That was sooo much fun to look at all the pictures!! You re-capped your trip very well for all of us.

We are thinking about either going to Tahiti or Sandals Antigua. Did you have to pay for all the extas like scuba and using atvs?? I know its all inclusive but I'm not sure what their "limits" are. Were you overall happy with the price you paid and the resort itself??

Hmmm to answer your question, yes and no. What we did, was started a honeymoon registry where people could purchase activities for us for our honeymoon. All their purchases went on a VISA credit card and we used that to do the activities that we wanted to do. So, yes they cost money, but if you use the honeymoon registry it won't really cost YOU money, you're just diggin out of what people have contributed for your honeymoon. Scuba diving: you have to take 1 lesson unless you're already internationally certified. The 1 lesson is $80 a person, then you can dive free once a day for as many days as you're there.

Sounds and looks like you guys had a blast! I get a rash like that every summer for about two weeks (just on my hands and knees) Very strange..... There is a cream that they gave me, but all it does is take away the stinging....

Anyway, love the pictures! Can't wait to see more!!! Love the one of you guys laying in the water on th beach! SOOO CUTE!!!

I love your pictures, I spent a while just looking at this thread. The pictures turned out great, and I love the super expressive ones, like the one's where you are sad going home, and super excited going to dinner.

I cant wait for my honeymoon.

We were Sandals Certified... it would have been another $300 a piece to become internationally certified, and we figured we won't be doing that again for awhile, so we paid only $80 a piece to get Sandal's Certified. WELL worth it!!!!

Thank you for the welcome

Next time you go on a long beach vacation pack a tube of cortizone cream. The sun is much more intense the closer to the equator that you get. I got the same sun rash in Rio de Janeiro and the cortizone cream would keep the inflamation down. A cold compress after a cool shower before heading out to dinner helped too! Not too much help for you now, but next time!

Awesome thanks! I ended up spending $10 on a tiny tube of benadryl creme :snide:

Yes, it was a complete awsome time!

That's crazy LOL, I would have never picked it because it was so far out of our way - but our GM did it for us, and I'm not complaining, it was perfect - away from EVERYONE :whoohoo:

So fh and i are trying to figure out that dreaded "honeymoon" thing.. i swear its soo much stress just to decide. Im the type of person that HATES spending money little by little.. its like i have to be wrestled just to pry it from my tiny hands.. he is the type that if its a vacation, he will literally throw it away to have fun.. I decided something like all inclusive would be best- a cruise, something like this, etc.

Did your package include drinks and food from any rest. on site etc? I know my bil did his like that but wherever he went, he HATED it so we dont ask him abou it hah

I'm glad you asked - YES!!!! Our package included ALL drinks/food! You could walk up to one of the many bistro/bars and order a drink and walk away - no tip no cash nothing! A lot of all inclusives only allow you like 2 drinks per meal or something, but with Sandal's it's completely all inclusive. I give them a TEN star rating :) Where are you two hoping to go, location wise?
