07.06.08 played out....

Hi all!!!

The Big Day is OVER, as is the honeymoon (boo!!!), but we are ready to get our lives back on track and hopefully catch up with ourselves.

Friday and Saturday we worked our butts off getting the barn ready for Sunday.... and it all paid off in the end!! I don't have many pics, only the ones I've acquired from my other forum where some of our friends posted their pictures.. and a few on my wedding account in photobucket. So here's what we've got so far!!!

Saturday night my MOH and Sierra and myself slept at Matt's mom's house and we got up around 8:30am... and the hair ladies arrived at 9. We worked on hair and makeup all morning while the guys set up the ceremony site, got their photo shoot with the photographer, and worked on the final touches with the Barn. The wedding was scheduled to start at 2:30, and when I asked what time it was (we were supposed to do a bridesmaids/bride photo shoot) the girls said it was 2pm! WTF!!!! Where'd the morning go?! So we had some issues with parking, and we ended up starting around 2:40.

The cake wasn't exactly what I had in mind, I wanted a larger pattern, but they got the pattern itself perfect, just too small. But I'm NOT complaining, I LOVED IT!!! It turned out perfect even though it's not what I had in mind!

Around 2:15 I asked Renee (BM) to help me put my veil on. Well I had so much hairspray that was already dried in my hair, that the comb for the veil wouldn't stay in my hair!!! it kept falling off my head. I pushed it on at the last second before I walked down the aisle and it survived the ceremony... barely LOL.

When the kids were let loose with the power wheels (after the bridal party, right before I walked down the aisle), the first set of kids decided to take a stroll through the park after they drove down the aisle, so that took an extra minute to round them up and get them back to the bridal party lineup, but it was hularious, and they did a GREAT job sitting still for the ceremony!!

When I got my cue... I started walking out. I had quite a walk to the front - it was from the barn to the ceremony site - about 60 feet, then another 40 feet down the aisle - ish. I'm just guessing.

I started walking out on the lawn and my aunt was out there taking pictures. I saw tears in her eyes, and I (idiot me) started thinking about how I wished my grandma and my brother could be there to share the day with me. So I teared up - but didn't let them spiill over thank goodness!!!!

I started walking down the aisle and from what I can remember - it was all a blur... the ceremony lasted like 15 minutes, and it was soo much fun! Our officiant/friend made it very entertaining and totally US! I will have to type it up (he gave us a copy of it) and you girls will LOVE IT!!!!

Mr. and Mrs. Harris!!!!! He was cryin his beautiful blue eyes out when I walked down the aisle. I was looking at our friends and family and my dads standing there waiting to walk me the rest of the way down the aisle... and I was thinking - it's finally here!!!! I wasn't nervous at all, just SO GLAD that it was FINALLY HERE.

Here's a TEASER pic of the candy buffet. The Candy buffet was BEAUTIFUL!!! It looked exactly like I wanted it to. Unfortunately, not much candy got eaten, but it looked good anyway. I have a few really good pics of it on the disposable camera that I haven't gotten developed yet, but here's the two that Renee took after everyone dug in..

After the ceremony, everyone went inside to take advantage of the chocolate fountain my mom hired. We hung out outside (97*) and got our pictures. There was a jungle gym there at the barn, and I climbed to the top of it and made the whole bridal party climb up it for pics.. it was GREAT!!!!!

Well, our DJ did the whole introducing the bridal party as we came in to eat after the pictures. The buffet was beautiful (thanks to two of our best friends and my dad who were working their butts off to make sure everyone ate). Well, of course we got to go sit down for about 5 seconds before they told us to go eat.... and I just found this picture of Matt seating me and I just LOVE IT *swoon*

(Ok, so my mind is jumping everywhere all at once. But I just noticed in this pic the necklace I wore. There was a big thread about whether or whether not to wear the necklace with my dress. To be honest, I wasn't planning on it. But seriously 5 minutes before I walked down the aisle my girls told me to put it on. The vote was 5/6 for the necklace. I said what the heck - I bought it for today right?? And guess what? One of my friends asked me at the reception, if she can use my set for HER wedding!!!! OH that made me so happy!!)

Now, there's a story behind cutting the cake. Matt and I were going to have a little fun with our 'feeding each other the cake'. But with black icing on the cake, I SO didn't want black icing down my dress. SO, we asked the DJ to announce when it was cake cutting time, that we wanted the two people closest to us to share in that special moment with us....

So my MOH and Matt's BM gets up there right next to us while we cut and pick up the cake. Matt and I had a cue for each other and......

We slammed the cake into our MOH and BM's faces..... it was HULARIOUS!!! Everyone LOVED IT! My MOH bit Matt's finger - he still laughs about it, and I got his brother on the head cuz he dodged my first attempt.

Here's Matt and Sierra's dance. The DJ was great with this one too!!! He said that there was a little something special for Matt and his daughter.... and they started dancing to "Butterfly Kisses". So about 25 seconds into the song, it pauses.... then "You Can't Touch This" blares through and they started boogy-in. It was HULARIOUS and everyone LOVED it.

Mother/Son - Father/Daughter dance: My Wish - Rascal Flatts

FYI, my dad does NOT dance. I've never seen him in a tux in my life, nor have I seen him dance. He wore the tux to walk me down the aisle, then by the time we were takin pics, he was back in his shorts and polo shirt while he worked in the kitchen. I wanted to dance with my stepdad as well, and my dad was looking for him. But my stepdad purposely snuck out cuz he doesn't dance nor dress up either LOL. I guess I got lucky with him dressing up - asking him to dace was going a little too far - and we got a good laugh out of it.

Our photographers were GREAT! We ended up losing one of our photographers like 3 days before the wedding, but my photographer that I paid for, brought TWO assistants! We had three photographers and I didn't even know he'd have more than just himself!

The Chocolate fountain was a hit - and it was delicious! Right before I walked out of the barn to walk down the aisle, the chocolate fountain attendant says "Are you nervous?" and I said "Heck no! But I'm starving!". So she gave me a piece of pineapple to scarf down before I walked out like 10 seconds later LOL.

The DJ's were FANTASTIC! They only played one song I wasn't real happy with but I didn't really care. It was just played out that's all.

Hmmmm.... So we got our nails done the day before the wedding. Me and my mom and Sierra and my girls went out to lunch then to get our nails done. The lady messed up my ring finger - on both hands. Other than that, my hands looked great. I guess we'll see just how messed up it was when we see the pics!

OH, and my ring is GORGEOUS!!!!! I have to dig up a pic so I can show ya'll what it looks like now that it has the band on it....

The weather in Jamaica was GORGEOUS!!!!!!! It rained ONCE for a total of like 2 hours - then it showered for about 10 minutes that same day. It was awsome, and Matt and I are already planning on going back in about 5 years!!!!!
