Do you ever hear a song, become obsessed with it and must play it over and over belting it at the top of your lungs? Right now - I'm totally obsessed with Fall Out Boy - "Beat It" (Michael Jackson's cover), Theory of a Deadman "Bad Girlfriend" and Taylor Swift "Should Have Said No".

What are your current favorite songs?

Oh I'm so loving Theory of a Deadman right now; "Hate my life" is friggin GREAT!!!

Ummm... hmm... trying to think what I've been listening to lately.... I'm really digging Clutch and Puscifer (not specific songs, but in general). "American Bad ***" by Kid Rock is great (I'm not normally a fan of his, but that song kicks butt)... Atreyu... Dark New Day ("Follow the Sun Down" isn't new, but gives me chills... just an amazing track)...

I've been obsessed with them for nearly a year now, but I can't stop listening to "Nothing Better" by The Postal Service and "Mr. Brightside" by The Killers.

I'm with you on Taylor Swift's "Should've Said No", Carrie Underwood's "I Don't Even Know My Last Name", and my FAVORITE, FAVORITE is Jessie McCartney's "Leavin." I crank that one up everytime I hear it! I love the part where he's singing about flyin' on his G5! G5! I had to ask DH what a G5 was, and for those that don't know it's a Gulfstream jet.

BTW- I drive a Pontiac G6 and like to think he's singing about my Pontiac! :)

YES, "Hammerhead" is awesome; I like the new Apocalyptica, but I like "I'm not Jesus" even better.... GREAT, rockin song.

The Metallica version is all instrumental, which is really cool. Because of that, I got to play "Unforgiven" with my orchestra senior year. I should pull out my violin and play it again. :)

What they're doing with this album is creating new songs but getting lead singers from popular bands to sing them. It's working well for them!

Not sure how many here will have ever heard of the two groups I'm going to mention, but:

"Lost the Plot" by the Newsboys
and
"King or Cripple" by Deliriou5?

The best!

I'm totally obsessed with a local band right now and have one of their songs on myspace - www.myspace.com/pinkangelwings (http://www.myspace.com/pinkangelwings). It totally takes me to another place. Love it!

Also, pretty much anything by Taylor Swift or Colby Caillat has been getting me excited lately. I guess I've been into mellow chick singers.

I totally do this! Right now I have a few songs on rotation but the one I was repeating a lot was definitely Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" and Carrie Underwood's "Last Name" and now it's mostly Duffy's "Stepping Stone" (GOOD song)

I've got some very strange ones in comparison to what's here. I used to be obsessed with Sawyer Brown's "This Night Won't Last Forever." At least I think that's what it's called. And then Goo Goo Dolls, "Sympathy."

Lately it's been a song I can only find on Youtube, by Jason Castro, called "A Song about Stars." Then also, "So Fast."

I noticed a lot of Taylor Swift fans here... cool! For awhile I was obsessed with her whole CD, especially, "Cold as You."

I was also trying to think of any Nine Days songs I'm obsessed with like that and only came up with their whole new CD, Slow Motion Life. It's only 6 songs so I can play the whole thing over and over, and they're all excellent songs.

Cool topic, btw.

For a long time, I was pretty obsessed with Ben Folds "The Luckiest." Right now, it's an old song by Jessica Andrews called "helplessly, hopelessly" - a beautiful song that I want to suggest to FH as "our song" (we don't have one!). And right now I can't get enough of Sara Bareilles CD, especially the songs "Gravity," "One Sweet Love," "Come Round Soon," "Between the Lines," "Love on the Rocks," and "City." Sheesh I love that CD :-P

FH got me Tickets to see them this September. As an early Wedding Present.
It was a toss up between them or Iron Maiden. I've seen Maiden the past Two Tours.

So Nickelback won. :ura1:

Carrie Underwood's song is really good. I'm not much for the Sugarland song though. It just seems...off to me. I don't know what it is. I really like Hollar Back by the Lost Trailers.

My DH hates the new song by sugar land. He thinks the girl is UGLY! I just think its kind of catchy. There is a song out called "You can let go" that talks about a daughter and her dad that makes me cry every single time. Because it reminds me of me and my dad

Yeah, her voice just gets to me on that song. I like other Sugarland songs. I dk. I LOVE "You Can Let Go". They just played it on the radio (not sure where in Wisconsin you are, I'm in the Milwaukee area - listen to FM106). Anyways, its sung by Crystal Shawanda. She has a very beautiful voice!

I'm with your hubby on that new Sugarland song. Ugh. I don't mind their other songs, but this one... it just drives me crazy. I have to turn the station everytime it comes on! :) Ooh! I'm both your neighbors, too, in Germantown!!!

I love the new Sugarland song " All I want to Do", my husband doesn't care for it but my kids ( even the baby ) will dance and sing with me. I play it all the time right now. My daughter even asked if that is the only song I listen to. Right now it is just about.

As for Taylor Swift, she bugs me. If she comes on the radio my husband changes the station no matter what song it is. I like of her songs but she just bugs me. One song she says " he talks real slow cause it's late and his momma don't know" HELLO he doesn't have to talk SLOW he has to talk LOW. I just can't listen to that one lol.

Another song I listen to all the time is Trace Adkins ( I so love this man ) " Your Gonna Miss This". I cry almost every time I hear this thinking about my kids growing up so fast.

Oh how could I forget. September's "Cry For You." It's actually not brand new but I kept hearing it on the New York stations last month. Actually I keep playing the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxu6iQ28arw

Also Danity Kane's "Damaged" although that one's getting old now.

I LOVE Newsboys! I was listening to one of their CD's on my way to the grocery store this morning. I put a David Crowder CD in the player when that was done.

A song that I cannot get out of my head - ever - How Great Is Our God by Chris Tomlin! That song energizes me like nothing else!

Everyone makes fun of my radio selections, too. If I'm not listening to talk radio (especially Glenn Beck), I'm listening to KLOVE. My children really like listening to the contemporary Christian music, it makes me feel close to God, there's nothing offensive about it, so I'm cool. The kids don't feel the same about talk radio though. LOL!

here's how I figure it, the wedding songs will be a mix of lovey dovey songs, 50's 60's and 70's hits (for the older crowd) 80's and 90's for mike and his friends.....and the little gems i love sprnkled throughout.

My grandpa used to play trombone in a big band. the one song he recorded I want to walk down the ailse to.

Loudon Wainwright III's Daughter will play for the father daughter dance.

A few others that are in the mix: Nickelback, Six Pence None the Richer, Coldplay, Johnny Cash, 3 doors down, Matchbox 20, Boys II Men, The Isley brothers, Wagner (classical), and a few Celtic wedding ballads.

I've recently become obsessed with "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz.

On a side note: Hi there fellow Cheeseheads!!! I grew up on 64th and Silver Spring in Milwaukee and moved to Menomonee Falls when I was 10 (If you've ever driven into Menomonee Falls from Milwaukee on Appleton Ave, we lived in that large, very old, stone faced house just on the entrance to town from that direction). I still remeber the address and what a pain it was to write out.
