Just out of curiosity...which does everyone prefer?

Polished, if that means just painted. I just, ick, I don't like fake nails! Sorry.

Painted usually. OPI Red is my favorite color right now. I usually do my own except for a pedicure every couple of months.

I keep my nails natural; sometimes I will buff them to a light shine or I will put a clear coat on them, but usually don't do anything else. Everyone once in a while I will get a French manicure, but it is not often.

I do paint my toes often though :D

I don't normally get my nails done, but I did for the wedding. I got french manicure and they were all chipped by my rehearsal dinner Friday evening (had them done Friday am). So that was disappointing, but my solid-color toe nails stayed on for the whole month with no chips!!

I thought the poll was about the wedding specifically. But in general, I don't paint my fingernails. Just clear when I want them to look extra polished. I have to keep them short because of the violin so I don't even like long nails, let alone fake ones!

I do usually keep my toes colored though :)

I normally don't do anything to them at all because 1) my nails are thin and break off anyway and 2) I don't want to pay for the upkeep of acrylic nails (though I looooooooooove having my nails done!!!!).

With that said, for the wedding, I had acrylics put on with french tips...and my toes were french tip painted, too. Flippin' loved it. I'm sad they're all gone now. :sob:

i like um natural! I had fake nails once.. NEVER AGAIN!!

That said, i am hoping i can get someone to paint my nails french manicure style, only lilac tips... Cuz it'd be cute!

I prefer my toes painted. I like the look of thin short acrylics but they are a pain and I get tired of them quickly. I like the neat and natural for the most part. My toes I love to have perfect and polished, mostly bright pink.

I prefer french tip, but if there was an "option" for other I would've chosen that, since my fave manicurist will do designs over french tip, such as zebra stripes across the tips in alternate colors or flames in alternate colors.

I have to go with natural 'cause whenever I put on polish, it instantly chips. Plus my nails are all different lengths, so it looks kinda weird. It's kinda funny to think back to 7th grade when I was obsessed with using nailpolish, and I would put on a different color every day.

Normally I don't do anything with my nails. But for the wedding I am going to get the acrylic tips with a French manicure, and pedicure.

I had kept mine short for the same reason and picked up a bad habit of nail biting. And every dang time I stop and they finally grow, as soon as it starts getting a little uncomfortable to play and do vibrato, I bit them all off, even before I find a file. I know, bad bad bad.
I will try to get french manicure a couple of months before the wedding though, to see how I like it. Maybe something with matte silver tip though.

I always have painted toes. I can't do acrylics because they are a no no at work, and because I'm always washign my hands, using my hands so they would just get messed up anyway.

I might have them done for the wedding though.

We're not allowed to wear acrylic nails in the clinical setting, but I wouldn't wear them anyway. My nails are short; I keep them filed square-ish with a very light (think ballet slippers) pink polish. OPI's "Kiss on the Chic" is what I always use. Mani's and pedi's are usually once every 4 to 6 weeks, and in between I paint them myself.

For the wedding I'm going to have my nails painted french, but no fakes. My fingers are just too skinny and they wouldn't look right on me. I haven't decided if I'm going to have my toes done at all since I'm only wearing closed toed shoes. I may just do them hot pink because I can since nobody will see!

I normally don't do anything with my nails. In the summer I MIGHT paint my toes if it's a special occasion. I used to be anal about always having painted toes if I was wearing open toed shoes. Then I started wearing flip flops in the winter and realized it didn't matter that much to me, it was too much trouble.

The last time I had my nails professionally done was six years ago for my prom! I figure the wedding will be my next (and probably last!) mani/pedi experience. It's not that I don't like it, I just never have an occasion for it!

because I wash my hands SO much during the day, I keep them natural.

If I paint my nails, then it's usually a solid color. On the wedding day it'll be a soft shade.

I don't care for french tip.

I'm going to be doing a bright red mani and pedi for the big day. Usually they're polished in OPI's "Lincoln Park After Dark" which looks black but is really a deep, deep purple.

In high school, I played the clarinet. Like violin and a lot of other instruments, you need to keep your nails short. When I was an undergrad, I played frisbee every night. That kept my nails nice and short... and not so pretty. Messed up my knee, no more frisbee, and now my nails just grow and grow... I actually invested in a file for the first time in my life. I went through a week where I polished it, but the remover makes my fiance feel sick, and with a small apartment, not worth it.

Wedding? I have no idea. Polished or natural, I can't stand the feel of fakes.

I don't have the money to get fake nails... so while I did it for the wedding it isn't an everyday thing.

I have had fake nails three times. The first was at a nail-tech school I was going to and I let one of my fellow students do them. Horrible mistake! They looked horrible and wouldn't come off! The second time was at my senior prom and the third was on my wedding day. Personally, I don't really like them. My real nails are still messed up from the wedding! It's just so hard on your natural nails!

I like my nails painted, since they're ugly and they break easily, but I love the look of French Tips!

The nail polish color I used for my wedding was OPI Princesses Rule! It was pink and sparkly and cute!

I always have my nails done but I am allergic to the acrilic so I get solar nails. The tip is already like a silver color and some places have the white tips. If you choose to you can polish over it..I dont I keep it clear. It is so pretty.

Stupid question... what does "OPI" stand for?

Stupid question... what does "OPI" stand for?

Its a brand of nail care products including nail polish. Most nail salons use that brand.

I like french tip, but my nails break so often that I don't have the length for it.

I love painted nails but it tends to chip off in less then a day.

So, I stay natural most of the time.

If I'm going to do anything to my nails, I prefer french tip. But I don't usually do anything with them because they are so short to begin with (I'm a biter) and I always end up picking the polish off. My toes are usually painted though. For my wedding, I suppose I'll get acrylic nails with french tip.

I go and get my nails done.

I have this horrible habbit of biting my nails when I'm stressed/nervous/mad. So I get them done.

That and I think that $30 every two weeks is a small price to pay for me to relax for an hour or so..

My toes are painted almost all summer long. As far as my fingernails, I never paint them a solid color, except for clear. I've done and gotten a french manicure done, with just white tips and I like that.

I like to get French Manicures, and for special occasions I like getting acrylic nails, usually cut short (I hate really long nails). But for everyday I just use a coat of clear/hard nail polish. I work in a dirty boat shop all day so it doesn't pay to do my nails during the week!!

i can't answer the poll, as i don't do any of the above.....i do the colored glitter tips(all acrylic, no tips), as my natural nails are so long. i used to be a biter, but after being pregnant they grew so quick, i couldnt bite em fast enough..... ;)

now though, 2 weeks ago a guy drilled so deep into my cuticle, he butchered my nails....so while in florida, my cousins fave place had to put tips on, to even out the depth from my old nail growth, to new nail growth....and it was QUITE a difference.....so we put the tips on, that way it would even out and he didn't have to put so much acrylic on

for the wedding, i am getting white glitter tips, with a tiny, tiny band of black behind the tip, and then the basic clear acrylic....my girl did this last summer, and it looked really neat with her white graduation dress.....i've done my sisters the same way,, as she loves black and my mom hates it, so i compromised with both of them, and used scotch tape to tape off her nails, and only painted the tips black....when i was pregnant, i was giving everyone manicures lol....idk why i think b/c i do FI's, and he was offshore alot, so my mom and sister and 10 y/o brother were subsitutes.....

Personally, I love polished (colours!) I always used to have french acrylic tips, but as my nails grow so fast I needed them in-filled every 2 weeks!! Not very cost effective!!

My faves are by Essie, Rimmel & Barry M!

I used to get fake nails freshman year of high school, but I hate having my nails messed with. I got a manicure a few years ago just for fun, but again, I can't stand having them do it. When they're filing them it makes me want to scream!

I paint my toenails occasionally during the winter, and they're always painted in the summer because they're always showing. I usually leave my fingernails natural because with dishes and cleaning the bathrooms and stuff, polish just doesn't hold up for me. And I don't have the control to paint my own fingernails anyway.

For the wedding my toenails were hot pink and my fingers were pretty natural--I shaped them and used one of those pencils that makes the white part whiter, and clear polish. I was pleased with them.

Actually the colour depends on the type of event I am going to ))) I work at the translation bureau, so during the negotiations I can not be bright. So I in everydaylife I like bright colours, but mostly use French tips
