Well I figured there's no time like the present to start a journal on here...I have been keeping a blog about all our wedding stuff on my myspace, but it's for friends eyes only.
Add me there if you want!
www.myspace.com/sweetdarling (http://www.myspace.com/sweetdarling)
But anyway...I'm under the 3 month mark and starting to go a little crazy!! I remember when I had 6 months left and I just couldn't wait!
Our wedding details:
Colors - Black, white, & red
Theme - ?? Polka dots!
When/where - Oct. 4, 2008/Bismarck, ND
Pretty much everything is DIY!!
So since I've done so much already I'll just have to sit down and post everything on here, to keep it all together, so it might take me a little while to get it all up!!

About us:
ME - Well my name is Amy, I will be 24 in a couple weeks. I work full time Mon-Fri at a data entry job that I really don't like...but I also go to school full time in the evenings for massage therapy and I can't wait to graduate!!! Which will be in December. I am very close with my family and with Derrick's. I have a ton of tattoos, a few piercings, and probably look kinda scary...but I'm harmless! I love vintage things, polka dots, movies, reading, sewing, scrapbooking, music, texting, chihuahuas, natural healing, and wedding planning!!
FH - His name is Derrick, he is 31 years old, but acts like he's 20!! He also works full time as a manager in a local grocery store. He's kinda dorky but that's how I like him!! He loves comic books, movies, music, go karting, riding bike, and hanging out with me!! He's kinda quiet, unlike me...and very patient, unlike me!! According to our pastor we are opposites...but it works for us. He also does have tattoos but can hide them better. I love this man to death!!
How we met - I was 19 and he was 26. I worked as an asst. manager in a store in the mall and he was friends with the other people I worked with so he would come in all the time and bug us and hang out and all that good stuff....I thought he was soooooooo cute! Well he kinda thought I was a pain, as usual, but then he saw I had a tattoo (I only had 3 at the time!!) and then he thought I was pretty cool!! hahahaha So he gave me his number and I called him a couple days later, we hung out, and the rest is history. We always considered August 28, 2003 our official anniversary.
The proposal - It was thanksgiving of 2007, his mom and I decided to make dinner for us and my parents. We all sat down to the table, after making fun of his mother for not having a corkscrew to open our wine so we had to drink ghetto wine with a twist off top!! And Derrick said the prayer and then he turned to me, got down on one knee and just proposed. It was so amazing!! My mom and his mom were crying, along with me, he was shaking so bad, and my dad was just sitting there!! hahaha But it was a fantastic moment, I will forever cherish the holiday of Thanksgiving now!!

So I made my way to Hobby Lobby today!! Love their sales!! I went before I went to school, grabbed a cart and just started adding things to the cart!! Here's what I got:
* the last of the pillow boxes I need for the favors
* the last of the wooden numbers I'm using for table numbers (pics to come!)
* a couple boxes of lights
* tote bags for my BM that I'm gonna decorate
* a bunch of paper for tags, place cards, etc.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v630/sugarhigh321/wedding%20ideas/DSC02312.jpg
The wedding lights, pillow boxes, totes, and paper were all 50% off!! The only thing that wasn't was my numbers but they're only $0.99 each and I only needed the 3 numbers.
It's so much fun! hahaha

And then our table numbers...The 1 is shiny because we first tried to glue and glitter them but it didn't work so well...so we washed it (they're wood) and just repainted over it...it's the only one that's shiny...hahahaha

Red is finished stuff...
(just trying to organize my thoughts!)

Choose your attendants (wedding party)
Write up a tentative invitation list, for number of guests
Select your entertainment: Band or Disc-Jockey

Pick up wedding rings
Confirm correct dates and times with all hired professionals (DJ, Photo,Video, Reception)

Wow. That checklist is thorough and rather awesome. I don't know if that's yours personally or you got it from somewhere but it totally puts in perspective for me, just starting out, what needs done when. Or at least to a point!
Also, I love all your stuff! The cake topper is really cool, as are the table numbers. I think those are my favorite thing! Oh, except the dress and the sashes for the bridesmaids - those are my favorite. :)

So tonight was my first experience in buying ONLY organic/natural foods...FH is away for the weekend so I thought there was no better time to try some new foods then when he's gone!!
So here is my receipt:
* Kashi Chicken Florentine Frozen Entree - $4.98
* Silk Chocolate Soymilk - $2.48
* Amy's Spinach Frozen Pizza - $7.78
* Van's 7-Grain Frozen Waffles - $3.78
* Annie's Organic Shells w/White Cheddar (mac&cheese) - $2.18

tonight I am going to print some more petal cones and possibly some of the guestbook poems to see if I like them.
I had a fabulous night at school tonight, I'm in school for massage therapy and 2 nights/week I massage on the public (aka mostly my friends) so it's so much fun. tonight we had a bunch of fun people in so it was a blast!!
Then tomorrow's my birthday (yay!) and I'm going to work but I'm skipping school at night...hitting up so Paradiso with some friends and the FH...pretty excited.

Oh my gosh I just sent out our invitations this morning!! Yikes, it makes it so much more real! I was so meticulous and careful when I was stuffing them and sealing them...then she just takes my box and dumps them in her bin :bbeek: I just about had a mild heart attack!! I obviously know that the US Postal Service handles the mail with anything but care but just to see her do it right in front of me...but I'm excited to start getting RSVPs back...I thought of a different system to keep track, when I get it organized I'll share with everyone.
Tomorrow is my bridal shower from the mom's (mine and his) I'm really excited, they have some surprises for me and it's just killing me!! I got them both a collage frame and put some of our engagement photos in them...then wrapped them all pretty like (pics later) so yeah, it'll be a good day!
I have a ton of homework this weekend as well and FH wants to go to a movie and go watch the UFC fight tonight...of course I want to do these too but dang I really need to get my homework done...I hate it!!
Anyway...I suppose that's it for now...eeek! 8 weeks!!!

50 days left!! OMG!!!
I finally ordered our sand ceremony set...I wanted one that had a stopper in the top, cause I'd be the one to tip it over some day! and I didn't wanna pay an arm and a leg...so after a long search I finally found one I really liked.
http://www.allyouneedtowear.com/unity_sand_ceremony.htm
it should be arriving next week so I'll let you all know how it looks in person too!!
Then I put in an order through Oriental Trading, I just got a yard sign for the ceremony because the turn to go to our ceremony location is a little tricky so I hope it helps! Then I just ordered champagne glasses for the ushers, they were only $5.00 each! I should be getting that stuff either tomorrow or Monday...yay!
I started assembling the favors (see DIY favors section on the forum) and I plan on knocking a lot of those out this weekend.
My bridal shower was sunday and it was amazing, my mom and his mom did a fantastic job...we had a good turn out, good food, fun games and everyone was very generous in their gifts! I have pictures, just haven't uploaded them yet, a 14 year old was in charge of the camera so the photos aren't the greatest quality!!
Our invitations went out last week Saturday and a lot of people got them Monday already...we've already received 11 RSVPs in the mail!! and only 1 decline (we figured they wouldn't be able to come, but invited them anyway!)...it's so exciting to get them every day! hahahaha it makes it all so much more real though!
I have no homework this weekend and FH works all weekend so hopefully I'll get a good chunk of wedding stuff done!!

You're so close and your list is getting smaller and smaller. At least it's broken up amongst three days. It's not a mad rush to get it all into one day.
