I bought my wedding shoes a few months ago. You can see them here (http://www.piperlime.com/browse/product.do?pid=5437650621075&cid=19831#). I wanted to go with silver since my dress has some silver detail on it. I tried them on when I got them and they fit fine so they have just been sitting in a box.

Today I was wearing the shoes around the house and they do not feel comfortable at all!! :sob: After a couple hours I took them off and you could see where the straps had been because there were lines on my feet! I guess I can just wear these shoes for the ceremony and pictures and then change at the reception (prob into flip flops)? How many of you are doing that? Also, the problem is I've already had alterations done so what if the flip flops are not as high up as my shoes? Will my dress be dragging on the floor? I wasn't planning to change shoes at the reception but now I think I have to!!! :bbconfused:

I did change into some comfy shoes (flip flops to be exact), but my dress was so long you couldn't really tell if I had made any change at all, other than the fact that I was little shorter :D. It didn't really matter to me If i had on some flip flops at the reception, I just kept on the shoes for the ceremony and pictures, and a few dances, after that I just kinda lounged around.

I recommend to all brides to have a pair of "back-up shoes" just in case. They can be flip-flops, or pretty sneakers, or just a more comfortable pair of dressy shoes than the first pair.

Unelss the heel height is the same on both pairs of shoes, then yes, your dress will be hitting the floor more with the back-ups than with the original pair. But, which is worse -- a dirty hemline or feet that that are so painful that you literally cannot walk for days?

I think you have plenty of time to try and find a different pair. You've got a couple of months to find a different pair of silver heels that maybe aren't so strappy and are more comfy... what is the heel height of the shoes you currently have? And if you were to buy another pair, what's your price limit? Just asking because maybe some of us can help you find an alternative pair.

Our Reception is at home so i'll probably change into my Slippers (Little flat Black Ballet-Shoe type)
Like you my Dress will be altered, (An Inch off the floor) to match my shoes, which have Four Inch Heels. I wear them for an Hour every night because they need breaking in a bit. Plus i'm not known to wear High Heels at the best of times. So for me to "Drive" Four Inches is going to take some learning LOL.

The Dress will drop as soon as i change shoes. But by then most off the Photos will be done and it'll be a case of kicking back at home and chilling out with Friends.

But as another poster said. You have a bit of time to find a back up pair.

Do you already have any heels that you know are comfortable? I would rather go with a pair I am already familiar with even if it's not the perfect match. No one's looking at my feet!

I already have a pair of silver strappy stiletto heels with a cool big jewel on the front that I love. I can run to the bus in these and they're pencil thin and 3" tall. However, when I wore them walking around a lot they did start to rub the balls of my feet pretty badly. But that's what foot petals (http://www.footpetals.com/cgi-bin/footpetals/index.html) are for!! These things rock. So I'll just be wearing these shoes under my dress.

So I recommend Foot Petals to all ladies!! They come with various shapes for various parts of your shoes (arch, heel, front, even for under straps!) and are cute! Of course no one will see them under your feet anyway ...

Did you try wearing the shoes with nylons? Sometimes I have shoes that leave strap marks when I wear them bare, but when I wear them with nylons they don't bother me at all. You could get sexy thigh-high nylons for the big day if you weren't considering wearing any at all.

I was thinking of trying to find another pair but I am pretty picky. I'll look into those foot petals, those look good.

As far as an alternate pair that I can at least wear for the reception - I am considering that. The shoes I have are a 2" heel, so if anyone can find white or silver flip flops that are that high, that would help. I probably wouldn't spend more than $20 (considering the original shoes I bought were $70!) Thanks everyone for your input!
