This one place has called me once or twice a day for the last week or so now (239-415-4400 Ft Myers Florida). We had tried to just not answer hoping they would just give up, but no, they keep calling!
The other day DH answered and told them to take us off their call list and not call anymore. The lady went on to say they don't have a list that numbers are called at random and tried to push the survey again; DH just hung up on her.
They called again this morning and caught me (I was in the kitchen, the only place we don't have caller ID); I said we were not interested and the guy said it would only take a minute and all, I just hung up.
I assume these people are using some sort of auto dialer, but why would it keep calling the same number so often?! And if you got a no the first time, why wouldn't they just remove that number from the list?!
Oh, and last week we got a letter (addressed to Resident) saying that someone would be calling about a survey. If they took the time to send out letters, why wouldn't they just send out the survey too?!
OMG, these people get on my nerves!

I think there is some way to report the company. Ask them for their company name and tell them that you will report them to the government for harassment if they do not take you off the list immediately. I had to do this with a Factory Vehicle Warranty company and I'm still getting calls, but now it is just once a week instead of on the plus side of 5 a day.

Here is the FCC's "Do Not Call" site. http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/donotcall/
Includes info on the national registry list of Do Not Call, how to file a complaint, etc.
I do know it may take a few days to remove you from the list (up to 30 days for some places, give them that) But if they do not remove you, they can be fined up to $5000 per incident.
Jot down the number, time, etc and keep record of when they called. Tell them to not call anymore, and that if they do you will file a complaint with the FCC. Give them 30 days to comply, and the next time they call remind that person of the do not call order and the deadline to remove your name.
I was once a short lived part time telemarketer (paid good).

I am on the no call list, but from what I understand surveyors are exempt from to the Do Not Call list; so it seems there is not much you can do to get them to stop :bbconfused:
EDIT: It even says so on the Do Not Call website -
The Do-Not-Call registry does not prevent all unwanted calls. It does not cover the following:
calls from organizations with which you have established a business relationship;
calls for which you have given prior written permission;
calls which are not commercial or do not include unsolicited advertisements;
calls by or on behalf of tax-exempt non-profit organizations.

Ugh! I hate those kinds of calls! Telemarketing, surveys, they all drive me nuts. I've gotten several calls from my car insurance company the last few days. My policy is going to be renewed soon and they kept trying to get me to increase my policy. They justify it by saying it concerns my policy, but they are just trying to get me to pay more. The first time they called, I said it was a bad time. The second time they called was at 6:20am (I was PISSED!) and I told them that it was way to early for them to be calling and hung up. The third time they called, I told them if they called me a bugged me again I would cancel my policy with them completely.

We don't get surveys but we do get recorded messages saying things like,
"You Have Been Called By Supremo-Glaze"
But the way they get their money is it costs YOU to listen. And i think it's something like £2 (Approx $3.97) A MINUTE!!!. :bbeek:
I did get one caller ask me if i was interested in test driving a Mercedes for the day. I let her go on and on about the great handling of the car.
Then told her why would i be interested in a Mercedes when i have a Brand New Aston Martin DB9 on my driveway. :grinhappy:
In my Dreams, but she didn't know that LOL.

My pet peeve right now is an auto caller
"How would you like to lower your credit card interest rate"
The only way to talk to a live person to (hopefully) get our number off their call list would be to call the number they provide but I don't trust that it is a toll free number. We have to put up with the calls or ..... pay the telephone company $5 a month, to have that number blocked from our line.

Yeah, we were gonna try to block the number and realized we didn't have that feature on our plan :p
I am gonna give them a piece of my mind if they call again; especially after both my husband and I have told them no now ... I don't care about your survey, so unless you are going to pay me to take my time to do it, leave me the h3ll alone!

Once you tell them to stop calling you, they HAVE to or else it's harrassment. Tell them the next time they call, that you will place harrassment charges on them if they continue to call you, as you have requested they stop. They will likely stop calling.

Yep; I will tell them they may be exempt from the no call thing, but if they better stop harassing me or they will hear from my lawyer :p

OMG they called again today ... I am PMS'ing and a little stressed today, so I went off on the guy. He started in about the survey and I interrupt and say "Look, you people have called me every day for over a week now! I have said I am not interested and so has my husband. (all this time he is trying to get a word in to explain :p) I realize you all are exempt from the no call thing, but at this point you are harassing us. So if you can't take our number out of your system then let me speak to your supervisor"
Then he says he can handle it but wanted to explain :bbrolleyes: I was like "I don't care about your survey; are you going pay me for my time? No!" He was like "Well, it will benefit you" :bbrolleyes: I said again "Unless you are going to pay me money for my time to take your stupid surveys then stop calling. If you or anyone from your company calls again I will call my lawyer" He went on to say something else and I just hung up :erm:
I really hope that finally got through them! I may have to get a whistle :worm:

My uncle had this really cool thing for his boat. It had a horn on canned air. A few short blasts should do the trick.

So annoying! I get the same call on my cell phone like four times a week - a recording that tells me it's not too late to renew the warranty on my car.
My car is nine years old and the warranty has long since expired.
I've tried calling the number back to tell them to stop calling but it's not a valid number. I have just accepted it as a message I have to delete a few times a week.
If I could blow an air horn or a whistle in the ear of a real person I would though!

They haven't called back since I told them they were harassing me and I'd call my lawyer if they called me again :p

I know there is a way for them to take your number off the auto caller. We use to get calls like that all the time when I worked at the 911 center. Try asking for a manager or someone like that. Maybe they can help.
