I don't know if any of you still haven't done your taxes (*raises hand in shame ... I haven't ) The deadline is April 17th, unless you file for an extension until August 15, 2006. The April 15th statutory deadline for income tax filing falls on a Saturday this year ... When this happens, the IRS pushes the deadline to the next business day ;)

My federals are done. But this year I have to file state and city taxes...not really used to that, considering that in Texas there's only the federal taxes.

We have to pay federal and state taxes in AL too. Fortunately, I don't have to file (I'm just going to school and my mom was like, "You don't have to have a job, so just wait and enjoy it until you actually do). But UNfortunately, Andrew thinks he's lost his W2 form. And he still has to file his state taxes!

At least you don't have to pay city taxes too! :)

YOU HAVE TO PAY CITY INCOME TAX? :w00t:

Well, I would have, had I made more money this year. Instead, I just get a tax return. However, yes, there is a city income tax here. It's blowing my mind too because I just came from two years in Texas with only fed income taxes!

Yep, here in Texas we only have federal income tax.

Federal, Commonwealth, and City here too. Plus the yearly taxes on the house, the garage, the cars, Sean's parking spot in his building at work, even the doggies. This is an expensive place to live.

As far as reporting our income, we just have Federal. Property taxes have to be paid yearly. We dont have to pay taxes on the vehicles, but we do have to pay to have it registered yearly.

I did my taxes along time ago, and the money is gone already. Too bad it was spent BEFORE HE PROPOSED!!!!!!! I got alittle over $3000 back. That could really come in handy right about now.

I usually get money back and Brian usually has to pay in between $300 & $500. We did a mock return of what it would be if we filed together this year. He nearly flipped out, we would be getting back nearly $6000. He said if hed known Id be such a tax break for him, we would have gotten married last year! I told him half was mine!!! He said I could have all of it....he just wanted to see a refund check with HIS name on it!

We've had ours done since the end of January. Had our return direct deposited and so had the money by mid February. Let me tell all you people that can't understand the tax forms but don't want to pay someone else to do them. Try Turbo Tax. It is like Tax returns for dummies! Love it!

I used Turbo Tax for my federal refund, but it charges 19.95 for my state taxes, so I have to do those on my own. I'm such a procrastinator!
