Amanda And Jason's Wedding 10/10/09

So I guess it is time for me to start a journal.

Jason and I have been together for 6 and a half years and we have a daughter together named Madalyn Belle. We have waited for me to get done with nursing school before we get married. I will be done in July of 2009 and our wedding is set(in stone lol!) for Saturday, October 10, 2009. Our colors are red, black and silver. Our guest list will top no more than 100 and it will be a casual but elegant affair.

Jason drives a truck for a living and he was also working part time at a truck stop that I used to go to with my friends after our nights of partying at the bar. One of my friends knew him and used to go over and chat with him while the rest of us were eating. One night I went over there to get her and while in my drunken state I basically made an *** out of myself. About a week later my friend told me he had been asking about me. I just played it off like yea right, me??

It was a whole month later, New Years Eve to be exact and he shows up at the bar that my friends and I hung out at. He tells me that he has been trying to track me down and finally decided to stop in the bar to see if I was there. Later when asked, my friend said that he called her non stop asking her for my number but she thought my yea right was in dislike of him.

We talked basically all night and then shared a midnight kiss. Our first date was two weeks later and we have been together ever since.

Now Jason and I have been together for a long time and have talked about marriage on and off. I knew that we were going to wait until I was do with school. I had showed him the ring that I wanted and stuff as well. Well... on Valentine's Day I had to work and he had to work so we had planned a weekend away on the weekend after Valentine's as usual. Jason had asked me alot more about the ring I wanted before V day so I knew that he would ask THE question on our little weekend. On Valentine's Day he calls and says that he is working late and not to wait up. I get home and his car is in the driveway. No big deal right? Well..I walk into the house and the is dinner set at the table, flowers in the kitchen and our daugther is no where in site. There is Jason at the table with my box!!! He asked and of course I said yes. It was so nice that after six years together he still knew how to shock me. He says he knew that I thought I was getting it on our weekend(DUH).

So my mom who totally is not into weddings came up with a great idea for my wedding ceremony location. They just put a historic(but new)boat in the canal around here. We booked it today and it is ours!!! Yeah!

Thanks ladies!!! I never understood why you can't take pictures. They told me the first time I tried it on that it was their private collection. The second time I tried it on I was in the dressing room by myself and the tag said it was a Venus. Duh!! It's not like I can't see it online.

Yea!!!!We found our reception venue. We really wanted this one place that was super cheap but Jason and I went to look and it and is was a dump!!!! This really concerned me because we only have a $5000 budget. So I really had to go over our budget with a comb to see what we could skimp on. Then it hit me. If we have a nicer more expensive place we won't have to spend a bunch of money to dress it up. So when I did the math the more expensive place and the cheaper place with alot of decor were about the same price. So we went to look at this really nice private country club and we both knew right away that it was the one!!!!

So my bridesmaid who is away at school called me yesterday and asked me to look up a model number of a dress she really liked. She tried it and called from the store. I gave her the go ahead and she ordered it. So here it is but it will be red with black trim and buttons.

Hi ladies!!! I have been so busy with school and wedding stuff. I have lots of pics to upload. I have my cake topper, centerpieces(which I love love love), and unity candle done. I recieved my save the dates and RSVP postcards from vistaprint and I also have more dress pictures. My engagement pictures turned out horrible so we have to do retakes and I think we found our wedding cake vendor.

I have decided to do two different centerpieces. I have one of the two put together but I am not sure what to do for the other. I wanted something tall and elegant but not too expensive. These centerpieces are costing about $15 a piece. The first picture is my centerpiece and the second is my inspiration. They will be on a round beveled mirror with candles and rose petals surrounding.

Here is the red rose garland I got from efavormart and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. I am gonna use them together(i think) along with lights and red and black tulle to decorate the arch and the head table. I am also using the ribbon on my card box.

Yeah! I found some red swarovski crystals on clearance at Hobby Lobby. I got the candles for 50% off at hobby lobby and the candle holders. I gem glued the crystals on and it took a couple days to finish cuz you can't glue all the crystals on at the same time. I am really happy with it. It only cost about $25 for everything and I plan on using the candle holders on my dining table after the wedding.

THANKS! It is super easy. I make all kinds of jewelry, I did have to work with the braid/twisting a bit so that it would lay flat but it just took a little patience.
