Anyone have plans this weekend? I'm going to clean our apartment and do laundry. It's so humid and nasty in our apartment. I really want to buy a dehumidifier but they are so expensive. I hate the humidity; I can't wait to move up north near the mountains!
I've been planning our road trip. Only 27 days to go! I hope to do some shopping in the Underground City in Montreal. Elizabeth, are there lots of good shops and deals there?

Nothing major planned this weekend. Tonight I think we're just going to dinner and a movie with friends.
A GF of mine is leaving on a cross-country motorcycle trip (alone!) tomorrow, so a couple of us might ride out with her to see her off... and Sunday, um, just riding (FH is coaching all weekend).
Everyone have a fun and safe weekend!

We will go to the deer farm and play with the deer and goats, go to Crabby's, (an all you can eat seafood buffet), then we will stay over night in a hotel and got to Noah's Ark (a huge water park) on Sunday! I am SO excited!!!!:D

I'll be working like mad to get everything ready for the wedding (by the way, 8 days!)! My goal is to have everything, and I mean everything done by Sunday night so I can relax next week and not have anything big to do. Of course, I'll have to wait until next week to do some simple things, like telling the post office to hold our mail, get my underarms waxed, hair trimmed, and getting my rings shined... but all the major stuff - I want that stuff DONE! We'll see how that goes!

Well, as soon as I get off work here, I'm headed down to the Columbus, OH area to play paintball tomorrow for the Ohio CPPA (Christian Paintball Player's Association) state gathering. I founded the chapter, but then stepped aside, and it's been a LONG time since I've seen the guys I used to play with. I only get out about once a year now to play, so this will be a fun reunion.
My wife and son are going with me, and they'll hang out at the field Saturday.
Sunday we'll stay in the area, and visit the Columbus Zoo. My son loves zoos, and the "fishies" especially.

FH is working on Saturday but off on Sunday. I'm taking it easy on Doctors Orders.
Saturday Night got a Friend from work and her boyfriend coming round for a Takeaway. Either Pizza or Chinese. Will probably chat and giggle into the small hours of Sunday. Hopefully she will give me a hand pining my Wedding Gown up so i can hem the bottom. (It's an inch or two on the floor and i want it off the floor) Planning on doing that before the drinks flow :winktongue:

My FH works nights, so I'll probably go over to my best friends house (my new house as of tomorrow! - I commited to moving in with my best friend before we got engaged and i wanted to keep my end of the deal, so I'll be living with her for 5 months then I'll be moving in with my FH) and hang out for a bit and then go over to his apartment and hang out till he gets home tonight.
Tomorrow I'm moving, so we'll be doing that all day :(
Sunday, probably sleep haha :grinhappy:
I'm actually fairly busy this weekend. Tonight I'm going to a friend's 21st bday party at a Mexican restaurant back home and then driving back to Houston while the rest of them go to some pasture party tonight. Then tomorrow we'll go to the farmer's market and then I'm going back to Needville to visit with the family, go to a friend's baby shower, and then coming back to Houston to go to an art show/concert. Fun stuff.

Nope, no plans other than working both nights. Hopefully next weekend we'll finally be able to make a trip to the lake (FH's parents have a trailer at a lake).
Tomorrow morning I am meeting with a new group of dog trainers, we are wanting to get Summit certified to be a therapy dog...after that, it is supposed to rain and be crappy so I will probably take my afternoon nap :) (I live for those!) clean the house and do laundry. Sunday is supposed to be nice, I need to take a pair of sunglasses back that I bought on a whim today, I think they make me look like a bug.

Nothing too exciting here; my sister and I (and my niece) usually go out to lunch on Saturday and then visit a bit with our parents. I want to go to IHOP, so I am gonna push for that ;)

Ooooh IHOP sounds so good I've had a craving for that for a couple months now (there isn't one too close to here). Maybe I can get my fiance to go on Sunday morning after I work.

Tonight we met with a potential client, then went shopping to get DH some new sunglasses. Didn't get any, but we did take in a nice reverse happy hour at Kona Grill. Right now I am catching up on my email (yes, at 11PM-I know it's sad) because my weekend officially started yesterday, and I have some people that need answers.
Tomorrow morning we are going to a farmer's market because I have been dying to go forever, and one of my friends is selling her handmade soaps. Tomorrow night, DH is dragging me to a WWE/WWF/WTF it's called wrestling show. I am not looking forward to it, but he thinks I'll have fun. I am going to visit with an open mind. :D

That reverse happy hour (not to mention the regular happy hour) is great! We used to go there often when we were living in Needville until they made it 21 and up so Chad couldn't get in anymore. They have really good deals! :grinhappy: What farmer's market are you going to??

We are doing a lot of wedding things. Going to get a sample of the centerpiece from the florist. Have to make sure it is what we really want. Then we are meeting with the planner out our reception site. Then we are meeting with our photographer to pay the remaining balance and go over other things. Then on Sunday we are going to go to the beach and go riding with my brother and sister n law. It should be a lot of fun. They just got a dune buggy and we have quads. And then we are going to meet with our DJ who is my mom's cousin. He did my brothers wedding and did a great job. Plus we get to meet their son that they adopted a few months ago. I think he is two or three months old now. :-) I am so happy it is the weekend!

I hope to do some shopping in the Underground City in Montreal. Elizabeth, are there lots of good shops and deals there?
Not really - ie it's not where I would first go if I was looking for some "bargoooons"LOL With that said, you should stroll the shops, just to say that you have.
It's just like anywhere else, you will find deals out of the "main" touristy sections. If you are looking for anything in particular let me know and I will try to direct you. If you really want to explore the city for shopping buys - see if you can find the book by Sandra Phillips called Smart Shopping in Montreal (http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/books/Smart-Shopping-Montreal-Sandra-Phillips/9780968102688-item.html).
This is her website (it was slow to load for me but it finally opened) - http://www.smartshoppingmontreal.com/
Do you like flea, craft and antique markets? Finnegan's Market in Hudson is THE place to go on a sunny Saturday morning. Check out the video - http://www.vimeo.com/215808
If you want to go, give me a call, we'll drive you out. Hugh and I have sold there before but, we just can't handle getting up at 4 am to get a spot so we are just visitors now. We love the place!

I am up early, coffee in hand, avoiding the mass of orders that I have to paint. I do have good intentions of getting to them though (but I would rather be going to Finnegan's ^^^^^). I will be painting pretty much all weekend.
DH is still fast asleep however, I have no doubt that he will be house hunting online and distracting me by showing me this great listing or that. :)

Thanks for the advise, Elizabeth. I just want to find a cute Canadian outfit, LOL! I'd also like to find a Canadian snowglobe. I'm starting to collect snowglobes. Know of any snowglobe stores or good souvenir shops?
Painting sounds fun! We might be painting too - hubby and I plan on moving into a bigger apartment in a couple of months. We're going to look at one today, it's huge! 1,248 square feet! We love that there's a washer, dryer, sunroom and fireplace. Hopefully it will be as nice as it sounds. Check out the floorplan.

Oh you will find a snowglobe anywhere downtown (St. Catherines) or in Old Montreal. There are tons of souvenir shops! Heck, the hotel that you are staying at might have a souvenir shop too.
LOL I am painting plates and platters; not our place but, we are in house hunting mode too. :) We have found three open houses that we are planning to visit tomorrow. Hopefully, they will be as nice as the photos show.

Today I am having a birthday party for all 3 kids. 1, 7 and 9 yeras old. All in July and my mother in law and her mother are visiting from WV so we are having it this weekend. Wed. we did a little cupcake for the baby on his real first birthday. Yesterday the kids went with them and shopped for their birthday presents. Came back with all kinds of neat stuff. Then we all went to dinner where my son wanted to go ( his birthday treat ) then home for one gift for him and a cupcake. Now I have been making cakes, wrapping presents, cleaning house, decoring the hosue next. Husband just got home from work and stopped and picked up the balloons on the way. Party at 4 then beach at 6 after the party.
Tomorrow I am not doing anything but visiting with the inlaws before they head home Monday.

We just put a hold on a new apartment, the floor plan I posted above! It's so nice and huge! It's in a really pretty, gated area with lots of trees, 4 pools
(didn't see any kids at the pools, just adults!), tennis courts... Our move-in date is next Saturday. We have a lot of packing to do! Can't wait to move out of this hell hole!
Elizabeth: That guy's outfit was hilarious! We're staying at a B&B in Mont Tremblant; there's a cute place called Pedestrian Village nearby. Ever heard of it? We won't actually stay in Montreal but we'll go walk in Old Montreal and the Underground City. Our next stop after Montreal will be Niagara Falls. I'll have to take lots of pictures of the butterfly conservatory!

Yes, we stayed in the village last fall. Funny - I just searched back through some old threads and found one where you had commented on a post about our plans to go up there.
When I was learning how to ski, our ski school would visit several mountains during the season but Tremblant was always a highlight - it's awesome up there.

There's a feeding station for the deer, a pool, and cozy bedroom for us. We're staying in the Buenas Noches. I really hope our hosts make us some crepes. I haven't had crepes in years; they are soooooooo good! Okay, I am really excited about our road trip now. Only 26 days to go! :)

Ohhhhhhh it's really cute. Please take lots of pics! We are still looking for somewhere to go the first week of September.
One thing you should do when you are in the area is to take the gondola ride (http://www.tremblant.ca/activities/summer/activities/gondola/index-e.htm)up the top of the mountain. Bring a sweater & a camera - it can be cold up top. We were allowed unlimited rides up with our hotel stay. I loaded up our pics of our weekend at Tremblant village here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/serendipitycrafts/sets/72157606131977592/
Re: crepes - I think I see them in the website pics. If you want to be sure to get them, just email them and request some LOL BTW - you have to bring home some maple syrup so that you can make your own crepes when you get home.

Yes! I am in love with their happy hour. I always have trouble deciding whether I want the sake bomb or their delicious on the rocks margaritas.
Our weekend ended up not going as planned at all. We woke up way too late Saturday morning to make it to the farmer's market in time to be there long enough to enjoy it (it was the Midtown Farmer's Market on Travis). I was so disappointed in myself because I have been wanting to go for a long time.
And also, we are dumb. For whatever reason, we thought the wrestling event was Saturday night, parked downtown, drank at the Flying Saucer and rode the train all the way down to Reliant...but when I saw the marquee, it was for Sunday! So we rode the train back and stopped off at Hermann Park, caught a rehearsal at Miller Outdoor Theatre and went back to the Flying Saucer. Yesterday, we did the same parking/train thing, drank some more at the Saucer, but this time, we actually saw the wrestling event. And I liked it.
So even though we are idiots, I had a fun weekend anyway. It reminded me of our days when we first got together and we'd just get out of the house and find random things to do along the way because we had nothing better to do.

Update on this past weekend's events:
I did indeed make it down to Columbus with my wife and son for paintball. Just a slight hitch in the plans. 2 or 3 games in, I decide to try and be a hero for my team and grab the flag (it was basically a capture the flag game). In the process of trying to get back under cover, I pivoted. Well, I should say my knee pivoted, and my foot did not.
Gave myself a pretty bad knee sprain. Thought I dislocated it, and can't walk on it very well right now.
Not the spring chicken I used to be evidently.
I still took my wife and son to the Columbus Zoo the next day. I just hobbled around on crutches.

I didn't read to see if this was mentioned, but they have the coolest thing there. It was somewhere in one of the underground malls.
It looks like a photo booth and it takes your picture, but instead of a photo you get a 3-D cube on a keychain. Ryan and I did that when we were there a few years ago. It only cost 10 canadian dollars (haha but that was like 8 bucks when we went... it's more now).

Hubby and I are in the process of packing everything up for our move-in on the 26th. Well, he is doing a lot of packing tonight and I am just being lazy. We're not doing much this weekend, just packing some more. I probably won't get to go shopping next weekend (my birthday weekend) because we'll be moving into our new apartment. I'll take before and after pics and post them. I'm a pretty good decorator. I've been told that Ross and Marshalls have really nice household decor for cheap, so I'm going to check them out. Decorating is so much fun!
