A friend of mine suggested going to www.hungrygirl.com (http://www.hungrygirl.com). It looks like a really cool site! It's got a bunch of different foods that you may be tempted to eat, and then it's got comparisons between a healthier version (which a recipe is given for) and the higher calorie/more fat version. It's not meant to be a professional site, but my friend said it's been very helpful for her. I think I might try out some of the things, so I thought I'd post the link here. :)

I'm pretty sure I saw a HungryGirl book at Kroger's yesterday. You might wanna check into that! Then again the website info is free and the book isn't. Hehe. The only time I've ever seen probs with the advice is the "sugar free" recommendations. That irks me. I love how they call out restaurants for their appalling nutritional info and show you how you can make something healthier (and cheaper) yourself. The guacamole recipe looks good!! I've made one with peas in it before and nobody could tell a thing.

Oh cool! I have to say that I don't agree with the Splenda though. Part of eating like this needs to be to instill a healthy lifestyle (applesauce in baking sure is healthier than butter), but artificial sweetener is not healthy.

Just cut back on the sugar period, or use more natural sweeteners such as maple syrup and honey which won't spike up your blood sugar like corn syrup and refined sugar and cause you to overeat. Just my 2 cents.
