What colours?

Just wondering people's takes on what colours would go well with the wall colour of our reception site. It's at a golf and country club and I've attached a pic from another wedding there. Any thoughts would be appreciated as I am having a very hard time deciding on colours.

Well...as it is a golf and country club, I think any of the preppy colors would work like pink and navy. Just a thought though. I wouldn't worry too much about the color of the walls.

I work with a lot of brides on their color scheme. While many brides such as yourself look to color coordinate everything my reccomendation is always to keep it simple. While your reception area looks beautiful it is much more important to think about where you will be taking pictures. Those are the colors that you will want to make sure don't completely clash.

Moreso, I would just think about what your personal vision is for your bridesmaids and go from there without worrying too much about what colors anything is painted/etc. You would never want to look back at the pictures five years from now and say "what was I thinking with that color?" Just go with your gut instinct this is YOUR wedding and you should have the girls dressed however you like.

One question puzzles me here. Why do Brides insist on matching absolutely EVERYTHING!!

Does it really matter what colour the walls are? As a previous post stated, concentrate on where the photos are taken. i.e Behind the Cake. Dont worry about the rest of the building.

If that was the case then i should get out some Black and Red paint and paint my Lounge walls because our reception is at home.

Either that or i just wear nothing because the walls are bare in our spare room :rofl:

The reason I asked is because this is the wall colour of the whole reception site meaning there will be pictures taken there for cutting the cut etc. I am not trying to match everything, I just thought that since it was such a vibrant colour in the whole reception hall that it may be wise to incorporate it in or do complimentary colours.

The rest of my pictures will be at the church and outside on the golf course.

How about a white / cream / ivory voile behind the cake for the cutting pictures? Or behind the top table if you are having one. A bit like the one in the link picture.
That way you can be independant on whatever colours you choose for flowers etc.
