Maggie Sottero Temptation anyone?

Is anyone wearing or DID anyone wear Maggie Sottero's Temptation gown? It is a discontinued gown so this is the best photo I can find of it, in a darker color: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y86/Hedges_World/MySpazz%20pics/temptation.jpg

I found one in red available on eBay. I tried on the Lana (http://www.bestbridalprices.com/maggie-sottero-wedding-dress-lana-p-13394.html) which is similar in that it is a 2 piece, corset back, and I know the general style works for me.

Anyhow, if you wore it, how did you like it? Any quirks? Did it fit well or weird anywhere? Any insight is helpful, thanks!

I tried on the Lana one and I loved it. It was out of my budget, otherwise I may have bought it.

Same here! I love it but just can't spend the ~$900 price tag after alterations.

Oh my gosh, I just have to say that I love the Lana... too bad it's so pricey! Could you maybe wait a see if there's a sale soon, or maybe keep your eye on ebay for a while to see if one pops up?

Like I said, I found the Temptation on eBay (for $200) and am set to get it. Just wanted to get opinions from anyone who may have worn it since it's a discontinued gown that's not in the bridal shops here.

I have seen several girls wear this dress and it always looks very nice.

That gown is nice but I think you can get something like it for so much cheaper. Specifically, maybe you should look for a quinceanera gown. They come in just about every color (including red and ruby). I just wouldn't spend that much unless it is the designer name you are going for:bbeek:. Check out the following links:

I was just gonna say when I saw you said I could get it so much cheaper "um, it's $199..." haha. I bought it! I got the size 12 so it will definitely need altering. I'm normally a 4 on top, have found that most wedding dresses I tried on were a snug 8 so it will have to go down a size or 2. But even with alterations it's a steal for a dress that was once $1,000!!

Yeah I looked at a lot of Quinceanera dresses but they are kinda over the top! They feel too formal for our wedding.

I love the Temptation because it's a 2 piece. The shape of a 2 piece corset style is so nice. Plus I've found it to be more flexible in terms of how it fits and all that (based on what I've tried on at bridal shops).

Thanks, I can't wait to get it! I'll make sure to try it on and take pics. Well, if the top is WAY too big then I'll get it altered, try it on, and take pics ;)

Depending on the length of the skirt I may sew another slip to make the skirt a bit bigger.

I found my maggie sottero dress for 300 at a local bridal store that they were having a moving sale at!!!! I was exstatic!!!!! the price tag said 1500 so when I had them check the price and they told me 300 I was craazzzyyy happy!!!! and I also found the veil that went with it for 99 when it was regualar 329 as well!!!!! Sooooo I would definitely not have any secong thoughts about whether to get the maggie dress or not!!!! 200 bucks is a steal!!!!! They are also made extremely well!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
