Neither of us ever win anything. Not that we don't try but we never do.
My husband listens to a radio show called Free Beer and Hot Wings. THey have a guy on there named Zane. They play this trivia game with a caller. Today they wanted caller #8. Nicholas was filling his water bottle at work when he heard this so he said what the hell I ahve my cell onm eI will give it a try. He has been trying any chance he got for about 3 years but has never been able to get through.
Now my husband has a head full of useless knowledge. You can ask him any question and he can answer it. He always answers the questions during the radio show at work and every one there says he could beat the guy.
Well he got through, no busy signal or anything. Just got right through. THey asked him his name and age and where he was calling from and then told him he was the 8th caller. So he won the coin toss and got to choose to go first or second. ( I am rambling I know so sorry ).
There are only 5 or 6 questions. Each week the pot is $400 and if no one wins it it rolls over to add to the next weeks pot. Well today the pot was $3600.00. He won it. But he didn't tell me right away. He came home on lunch which he never does and was downloading the pod cast. He didn't tell me anything. He gets home after 5:30 and just says that I have to listen to something. I always have to listen to something from that show so I just let him show me and then go on. Well the brat made me sit and listen the whole thing through. Utnill the end where he won the money. I was like what? And you didn't say anything to me. He said he could not believe it himself that is why he had to get the pod cast to listen to it again to be sure.
You can here the guys at work in the back ground come rushing in the room he was in after the heard he won. There is a 15 second delay between him answering and the listeners hearing it. No one was working for that few mins.
But it was not easy. When they went to commercial they asked him to hold on the line. He said he was waiting and he kept hearing a beep. Didn't know what it was untill him phone went dead. His battery died. He said he flew out of the room jumping over machines to get to one of his co workers and demanded his phone and ran outside. He got them back and they made sure it was him and he was able to continue.
We have plans for the money. It will be a couple of months before we get it. Just in time for school to start. The kids will be all decked out for school this year. Yes we are going to pay off some bills. Most should be cought up by then any way. We are going to get some things that need to be fixed on both vehicles. Putting some back for Christmas. But we are going to spoil our selves. We may get a new TV and he may get a new racing jacket. Thing we would never be able to normaly get as the kids are always growing and needing clothes and shoes and what not. So we never splurge. Well we are going to.
Oh yeah and he won a new pair of boots from some place just for playing too.
Yeah it was a good day. He is going to make his friend listen to it as well instead of telling him.
The funny thing is earlier in the evening he said something to me before I listened to it that some one from NH won $3600.00 today. As I am listening to it and I hear that it is him on there I was thinking no he would have told me. He said he couldn't he had to have me listen.
I love that man lol. Sorry so long. But this was an exciting day.
