Personally, I wouldn't. Just because you see a pretty dress on a model that you like and have it made to fit you, doesn't mean it will actually look good. I remember falling in love with a couple of dresses I saw online, trying them on in a bridal shop and HATING them on me. The dress I ended up with was one I hated on the model, but it looked awesome on me.

I did and am really happy with it. However, sometimes I wonder what kind of dress I would have if I had shopped for it the traditional way.

Nope. Most are over seas, specially China. I like to stimulate my own economy.

I'm buying mine online. All stores around me are having a trend of empire waists, which I hate. Besides, I'm getting it altered anyway.

I did. From Ebridalsuperstore.com I have had someone personally recommend them, and love their customer service.. You can call them (i did ) and ask them anything they are all so sweet over there.
I orderd it online because I knew the dress, i know someone who has it, (not the same color trim of course) and NO stores around me carried Alfred Angelo Dresses.

i could always sell it on ebay if i dont like it.. AND i could get double what i paid for it.. BTW ebridalsuperstore.com MATCHES or Reduces ANY price you bring / show them. My dress is a 900 dollar dress and I got it for 450!! (or somewhere around there)

I am buying mine from ebay (china seller). I figure I have enough time to sell it and buy a new one should I need to.

I don't think that I could order one online...I'd be too scared of it not looking right on my body or not fitting at all....plus as my mother keeps reminding me - could I really deprive my mother of the opportunity to go dress shopping with me...LOL But to each their own and if you think you have enough time to sell should you not like it and you really love the dress then go for it.

I wouldn't order from online, as someone else mentioned, different manufacturers size guidelines are different, and you never know if your 'normal' size is going to fit you. Bridal gowns can be very difficult to let out, and sometimes taking them in too much takes away a lot of the detail.
I'd much rather go somewhere in person, get the dress, try it on, and then if I have a problem with it I can go to the place I bought it and address it with them.
