Its not to late.. But you really need to get a move on if you want to get it in time for your wedding. Start visiting all the bridal shops in your area. My wife took time off each week and drove all over the state looking at wedding dresses.

You are cutting REALLY close if your are looking for a specific custom designed dress. However, If you are open minded there are tons of dresses available on the rack and the season for sample sales is upon us.
Also check out area trunk shows. Great deals to be had there. If your heart is set on ordering through a shop, get out there TODAY!

Have no fear!

I found my dress online - never even saw it in person, but did see other designs by the same manufacturer and loved them - called at least 40 online and local companies to find the best price, ordered it, received it, and had alterations done to it all in under TWO months.

However, I don't recommend waiting that long if you can avoid it because toward the end of my hunt I was starting to go insane with nervousness!

It's not impossible, just don't rush yourself either.

Good Luck!

I made my dress. It took less then two months to get it done. If we would of been on the ball, we could of had it done in a week. It wasnt anything really fancy, but pretty for the type of wedding I had. Im sure you have time to find the dress of your dreams!

When I got married, I got my dress from a local bridal shop and actually bought the floor model. (They were going out of business so I got an $800 dress for $200!)

It is definitely not too late to find a designer dress. I think that most dresses can be ordered in about 8-12 weeks.

Hope you have success finding the right dress for you!

The bigger question is what else do you have left to do? Can you concentrate on your dress or are you trying to take care of a lot of other things as well. You may need to ask for help- How are your bridesmaids at handling things?

I have one caution, about this. I have already ordered my wedding dress even though my wedding is in July of this year! I ordered my dress, by Mori Lee, in August of 2004, and it was expected to arrive at the end of December, beginning of January, although it is only like the 11th of January I have yet to see my dress. I sugest not putting it off any longer and get out there and look! Plus too, you might hit some sales because you are kind of out of season in a way. I picked up my $1100.00 dress at just that price, because i caught them at a time when they were doing a no tax event. Enjoy your wedding dress shopping experience now, before you are rushing from store to store worrying about the dress that you will wear the first day of the rest of your and your husband's life together! And a good piece of advice to pass on to you, try on everything you see, even if you think that it would look horriable on you. The one dress that i really didn't like on the hanger, was the one that I bought to say "I do!" in! I wish you the best in your hunting for the perfect dress and for your upcoming wedding!

Start looking on-line at different designers to get ideas of what you may like, then visit a couple of shops to see what looks best on you, which will give you a better idea of what to look for. People are right, dresses take about 12 weeks to get, but you don't want to give salons any excuses to tack on the "rush" charge on your dress.
