OK, I almost feel sort of stupid for this, but I hope I am not the only woman to do something similar ...
Anyone ever been in the shower shaving your legs and nick a finger nail? I have done this many times; today I did more than nick though. I cut deep into my pinkie nail! It hurt so bad and bleed a lot, I thought I had ripped the nail completely off :bbeek:

Ew ew ew, I do that sometimes and I HATE the feeling of it cutting into my nail! Fortunately I have not cut down to the skin. Sorry for your pain :(
YES I've done that.... :urgh: and it TICKS me off! Like, my nails finally get nice then I mess em up SHAVING!
Unfortunately, I can relate. At least it's your pinky and not a more used finger!

At least it's your pinky and not a more used finger! That is what DH said too :worm: It is akward to type though and was akward to fix my hair.
It isn't too bad now, as long as I don't touch it :p
Oh I hate dealing with my hair when I have a cut on my hand :urgh:

I have never done this but I have been shaving my legs in the shower before when I slipped and cut my ankle all the way down to the bone.

I've never done that... but at work my nails rip off way down into where the nail no longer extends past the skin. I really had when it starts to rip and doesn't go all the way so I snag it on everything.. but it really hurts to tear it off all the way. Luckily it hasn't happened in months now... knock on wood.

I rarely shave because of my skin condition, but that sounds terrible! :(

I use my DH's beard trimmer to trim all kinds of hair. ;) He does not mind. Is that not the measure of true love?

Ouch.... I have nicked my finger nail, and it leaves that strange groove in which lint, fabrics, and my hair seem to snag on all day long... which is really irritating because it isn't like my nail will grow out so that I can cut it off in like 24 hours....
I have cut my legs hella times. There was one time I was shaving the back of my legs and I cut the tendon area behind my knee. You know, where you can see the two lines of tendon come up behind each knee cap? Yeah well that bled like a mother, and hurt like hell.
Another time I was shaving... umm yeah, and I accidentally cut that, and whooooo man, I can say that was HIGHLY unpleasant.

It doesn't hurt much anymore; I still keep a band-aid on it though so I don't catch the nail on something and rip it off :o

hahah my sis sent me an email about the dangers of shaving & waxing. wish I could find it and I'd post it here it is too funny!
Brandy~ I've done the same thing before, thankfully not to the extent you mentioned but still enough to be annoying.
I've also got a scar on the outside of my ankle, about an inch long where my sis turned the cold water on me (she was at the sink and I was in the shower) and I was shaving & it kinda "dug in" :sob: it hurt like heck at the time.

YES! I did this recently while shaving my knee. I have no idea how it happened. The cut was deep and in the middle of my nail. My finger was throbbing for a day or so. I was able to salvage until it grew long enough to cut off but I had to be really careful. Sorry.

Sorry for you too, but glad to hear I am not the only one to ever do this ;)
I still have a bandaid on my pinkie so I don't catch it on something. Hopefully it will grow out soon.
I almost did it again yesterday; nicked another nail while shaving, but it wasn't bad.
