View Full Version : Least Expensive, but still yummy...??
Pizza!!??
I'm looking for a not so expensive (say $15 ea or less) pizza place. Papa Murphys is the best hands down as far as cost goes, but I don't want to be baking pizza for my rehearsal dinner. So far for an XL I'm looking at about $20 per pizza through Papa Johns... and I'd prefer not to go that high. I can try Sams Club or Costco - who's prices are between $10 and $12 a piece, but you can't choose your toppings if you go through them.
Keeping in mind a lot of the pizza places on the East Coast/Midwest aren't here :irked: I haven't even looked at Round Table - not really a fan.
Any suggestions?
TIA :)

Do you have a Nick and Willy's? I love their pizza! If not one of those I would try for another franchise kind of place (like Papa Murphy's...)- since they are locally owned usually you might get lucky and be able to talk to the owner about a discount since you are ordering a bunch of pizzas.

Surprisingly enough, some gas stations have pizza that's actually really good and inexpensive... though I don't know how much they can do at one time. Then again, in 6th grade our whole band had pizza from a gas station (it was arranged ahead of time).
I hate to say it, but Sam's pizza used to be my fav. We would stop by specifically to get a slice. I've never had Costco pizza before, but if they taste similar then I always prefer to give my business to Costco rather than Sam's. :grinhappy: I don't know how much it would be to get them from Whole Foods, but those are super super yummy.
That's the only commercial pizza that I really enjoy other than Califlornia Pizza Kitchen!
LOL Keely, you would think we'd have a California Pizza Kitchen in California, but alas! I haven't seen any!!
Sams club is what Matt's saying - but I don't think we can get them made special - like a vegetarian one, or a hawaiian. But we can try. Costco so far has the best pizza ever but they only have Combo, pepperoni and cheese. Their cheese is like 1 lb of cheese per slice it's crazy. Alright, so a little exaggeration.
Never heard of Nick and Willy's.... and Papa Murphy's would be the least expensive and best tasting bet if I wanted to deal wtih baking the pizzas... which I don't.
Mom and I are going to Sams Club tonight to see what they offer as far as pizzas go. I'll letchya'll know!! Thank you btw!

So Do you have a CeCe's Pizza buffet? Its all you can eat for $5.95/person. I don't know if they do to go or catering but they usually have 8 different kinds of pizza plus 2 desert pizzas and pasta and a so-so salad bar.

Hmmm.. the only pizza buffet we have is John's Pizza Planet or something like that and that's about 30 mins from the barn :( But that would have been perfect if there was one close by we'd just go there.

I don't know if you guys have a Little Caesar's out there, but around here they do $5 hot and ready pizzas. You can call ahead if you want something other than cheese or pepperoni and it's a little more, but you really can't beat the price for a large pizza. My friends used them for their rehearsal dinner last year.
YES we have Little Caesars. I will have to see what their prices are for something other than cheese and pepperoni :) Thank you I totally forgot bout them.

At Pizza Hut here, they have Pizza Mia's. They are really awesome (my favorite of their pizzas) and if you get three or more, they are only $5.

They do this at Pizza Hut?? I've never heard of that deal - is that for Larges?

The Papa Murphey's where I live will bake pizzas, but it costs a little bit more. Have you asked Papa Murphey's if they would bake them? I would try it! I like their pizza.

I've never even seen an oven in Papa Murphy's. It's always so nice and cool in there. I will find out if any in my area will bake them though! Thanks!

Ask Papa Johns if they have a "Pizza Party Special" or something like that.
We did pizza for our rehearsal dinner and one of the local, usually expensive, places had a wonderful deal like that.

It think they are technically considered a medium. But we get them when we have a lot of people over and they seem to go just as far as a large. They have a different sauce and cheese than the regular pizza hut pizzas.

I did this, and they have a special for 10 large pizzas (ANY toppings we want!!), 50 buffalo wings, 6 sides, all the dippers, and 8 2 liter of sodas - all for $229 + tax! Holly molly!!!
AND on top of that, I was discussing the best deal with Matt's mom, and she offered to pay for it for us!!! I'm so psyched!!!

That's really cool, I'm glad you found a good deal!
That is way too awesome! I'm so glad that you got such a good deal. I wish I would have known about that for my friend's pizza rehearsal dinner!
Yay! :D
I figured out that I can get 3 pizzas for $20 at Little Caesars, BUT, the catch with Papa Johns, is that I will get sides, dipping sauces and drinks WITH the pizza. I'm thinking this might be a better bet going with the Papa John's deal - plus, Matt's mom already agreed to pay for it cuz she knows how less stress this deal would be!
