I wanted something casual but classy and timeless at the same time (picky, I know...). We will probably elope, and if we don't, we will get married at my parents' house (it's beautiful, very elegant, 1920's (hollywood glamour/art deco) era).
I just bought this on ebay... it's jcrew, but has been discontinued. I would have bought one size bigger just to be on the safe side, but I am pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to find it again anywhere else ever. So I went for it. I am actually kind of lucky I even found it, AND it was in a close size. Haha. It might be a little snug, and the seller said there isn't much room to work with on the seams, so cross your fingers for me... =) I'll post pics when it arrives in a few days.
What do you think? You might all think I'm nuts, but I'm not into the big gown thing... not to say they aren't pretty. Anyway, here is my lovely dress.

Very Classy. Just goes to prove you don't need a "Merange" to look like a Bride. Great find.

Ohhhhh very pretty!!!!!! That dress just cries out for a dainty little birdcage veil. You could also go very Jackie O. with that and it'd be stunning!!

I saw that and loved it, but I wanted the short version, which they stopped making! So glad I found it on ebay! What does yours look like?!
Thanks for all the comments! Neebelung- I was planning on a birdcage veil, for sure! You have good taste!

Looks great to me! And I think the cut and natural fibers work awesomely well for the region you're in, too. Most Oregonian brides seem to favor mermaid dresses and/or shorter/non-traditional ones over the standard pouffy, chapel-train dress. I think it's all of the rain and the mud, combined with everyone's laid-back attitudes in general. :)

Well said! I love Oregonians. Although, I favored the poofy princess type dress, I feel as if will look great for pictures at the Country Club.
Animal.Crackers, my fellow ORegonian, I love the simplicity and elegance of the dress you chose. I think it'll look great, I cant wait to see pictures of you in it. I hope it works out. I am in awe at the amoutn of women who chose to go to ebay for a wedding gown. How in the world do you find things to fit? I have to try EVERYTHING on. LOL.
