Can anyone make any suggestions or help with the following:

I'm looking for photograph frames (3.5cm x 4cm photographs) that can be used as balloon weights. I've googled 'till I can't see straight and still haven't come up with anything.

Any suggestions

I know Michael's has the mini picture frames, but I don't think they would weigh enough to hold balloons.

If my converstion is correct (would be approx 1.3 x 1.5 inches), this is a fairly small and odd picture size, at least in the US. The smallest frames I have seen are 2.5x3.5 inches; this is the size of a standard wallet print here.

I would worry that even if you found a frame small enough would it be heavy enough to hold down your balloons ... how many and what type of balloons are you talking about here?

Why not go with your typical balloon weights and wrap them in your wedding colours? Just curious as to why you want picture frame ones - like where are they going to be placed that people would see the pictures?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!!!

Dani, sorry but am typing this in Ireland so not sure where Michael's is???!

Brandi, your conversions are right. There are 6 helium balloons being used for the centre piece on approx. 15 tables at the reception and a few arrangements on the Bar and guest-book table as you enter the function room. The photographs are that measurement because I don't want them to look out of proportion with the arrangement. (hope this answers your question too f77g4)

Oh ok Becka - I've never seen balloon centerpieces - that would be kind of cool. Are the strings going to be quite long on them so that it doesn't hinder conversation? I hope you can find what you are looking for....I'd be a tad concerned that they weren't heavy enough though.

The above picture shows you where I'm coming from. The photo frame balloon weights aren't the be all and end all of the day, but I'd like to give it a lash if possible!!!

That is what I was going to suggest. Then, perhaps you can attach the frame(s) to the balloon weight. At least you won't have to worry about the frames floating away :)

I used balloons as centerpieces for my first wedding. The ceiling was filled with balloons as well. :)

I did a quick search on google and ebay and the only ones I can find that size are magnets....most are 3.5X5...hope you can find what you are looking for.

We're using Helium Balloons around our Home and Garden for the Reception.

Instead of using Balloon Weights which can vary in price, but for numerous amounts they all add up. We are using Red Shiny Wrapping Paper and wrapping some Rocks we have in the Garden. Then tying some curling ribbon to the rocks and attaching the Balloons.

We have just dug up the garden path so we have about two tonnes of the stuff laying around at the moment. :bbeek:

It should be a great day. We've just got back from a Weekend with our Witnesses. Our Gazebo for the Home Reception has finally arrived. And Ironically i was in the Garden two days ago sorting out the rocks and arranged to get rid of the rest of the rubble. :D

Oh and the Suns been shining all day. I sometimes wonder if i'm really in England with this weather LOL.

Not to kill the mood, but i thought i would bring it up.. Latex allergies are becoming more and more common.. I would probably try and spread by word of mouth somehow that balloons would be there.. I know my sis would actually die if she entered a room like in that picture.. o.o; Sorry for being a downer.

Was not read as a downer. I think it's a valid point. Something i've never thought about but it does happen.
I was in the Hospital earlier and they asked me if i had a Latex allergy. I never put the two and two together.

I think it happens a lot because of our jumps of technology in the late 70s and 80s. My sis was in the hospital for months when we were born (we were born a month early in 83) and i'm sure there was latex EVERYWHERE. I have heard a lot of nurses becoming allergic as well because of so much exposer.. I think places are slowly changing to non-latex things. *^^*

f77g4, Many thanks for your suggestion. I would probably have been able to jury rig the frame to my needs however (and it's a big however!!!) they don't cater for international shipping.:bbcry:

Nekochanpurr~ wow! I never thought of that either!

Becka~ i know originally you said you were looking for picture frame balloon weights; what about little bags of sand....you could get the bags in whatever your wedding colors are and just tie the balloon strings around the neck of the bag?
