Hi. The colors of our wedding will be turquoise and silver. I'm having problems finding flowers that match. :bbconfused: I was thinking just plain white tulips?? I don't even know what kind of bouquet of flowers I will hold or the bridesmaids? If you have any ideas that will look great with these colors let me know. Thanks!:D

My wedding colors are turquoise and opal (which are mine and Brians birthstones) with silver and white accents. Im carrying a white rose bouquet that will have opal and turquoise ribbon in it. The tulips sound very pretty and I think that with a little ribbon you can add you colors in.
Youre right.....I could NOT find turquoise flowers anywhere. I had origially thought about using wildflowers but I decided I really just wanted the white roses. Hope this helps! I would love to see what you come up with!

How about crystal accents and/or ribbon? A little pink might be pretty, too, to help the flowers stand out from the gowns a little.

My colours are cloudy blue and black. I am using white flowers for my bridesmaids since it will stand out nicely against their blue tops and black skirts and then i added in a little bright pink for my flowers because i was warned that all white flowers will disapear into your dress in b/w photos. I am also using roses and tulips and a couple gerbera daisies for the boquets.

Hey! I'm also using turquoise and silver and I'm having the same problem as you. I can't even find silk flowers in turqoise. I considered using all white flowers, but the bridesmaids dresses are two-piece; the tops are white and the skirts are turqoise, so I don't want the bouquet to blend in with their tops. SO, I have no idea what I'm gonna do!
If anyone runs across a site with some silk flowers or rose petals in turquoise, let me know!!!
Thanks!!!
and good luck to everyone!

I could not find very much in the turquoise flower dept either. What I went with was a barely offwhite rose and it worked out really well.
Good Luck!

My aunt found that her white flowers blended into her white dress too much in pictures. I have a grey blue, black, and white colour theme. You can get black roses. But it seemed a little too dark for me. I am going to have hot pink roses. It will really pop against the white.
I can see the white and turquoise with pink flowers. I think it will be really nice. Give it a thought. If not.... white flowers will definatly be pretty. Possibly use turqoise ribbon with it.

^yes, the hot pink flowers would be beautiful...the only thing is I'm getting married in JANUARY, lol. So, that would kinda throw off the whole winter look. That's what's making this so complicated, haha! I'm thinking if I incorporate irridescent crystals and turquoise ribbon into the white bouquet, then it will give it a bit more color and not blend in so much with their tops.

You know what i was just thinking.... when my flourist was coming up with some centrepeice ideas for me she wove a little tulle into the rose arrangement. If you can find turquois tulle you could possibly weave it into the white roses and it would give it a little more pop from the tops and look awsome!

The turquoise tulle is pretty easy to find. I got all mine from Wal Mart and it was only $1 a yard.

Since your having trouble finding flowers in turquoise you could consider dying flowers to put in your decorations.
Even Roses Maintain a Natural Look When Dyed Properly
http://www.preservedgardens.com/images/gallery/dyed%20roses_small.jpg (http://www.preservedgardens.com/projects/flower%20treatment/dyed%20roses.jpg)
Some flowers, such as Roses, require a little more preparation.
These roses were all the same white before dying. The pink and purple roses were treated for about a day. Process:
1. Strip off leaves.
2. Prepare dye solution of:
- Very warm water
- Cut flower preservative (Chrysal or Floralife)
- Design Master "absorbit" systemic dye. (or Koch)
3. Pour 2" of Floralife's Quick Dip Instant Hydration Pretreatment into a plastic cup.
4. Cut off several inches of stem under water, then dip stems ends in hydration solution.
5. Immediately place in the warm dye/preservative solution. Remember, flowers press darker so take them out of the dye when they're lighter than you'd like.
The dye is absorbed by the stem and leaves too, which can produce some interesting effects.
If done a day or two prior to the ceremony the coloring should hold. However you would have to assure the end of your bouquet is wrapped in order to prevent dyes from transferring.

Wow! Thanks so much. I've heard people talk about florists dying roses. I didn't know how they actually did it though. It doesn't sound too complicated.
But where do you find the dye??

You can also use food colouring to do it, the amount u put in the water determins the depth of colour on the flowers!

Can you dye silk roses too? Or does this work better on real roses??
I may just have to go talk to a florist, b/c I'd be too scared to try it myself...

You may want to talk to a florist because we tried top dye roses for my wedding and they didnt want to dye.

I've been looking online and It seems that carnations are the easiest to dye, so I may just go with those. Here's a link I found that uses food coloring.
