Thank you for all of your input. We will have to get with the baker and see what she can do.

Lacey-thank you again...you are so great. I am quite fond of the rounded edges I think it makes the cake "soft" looking. If that makes any sense. It seems I am in quite the pickle....

Yeah, I like the soft edges as well. It might not be the same cake without the fondant.

Your other option which I have seen done, is this. You could have the cake frosted underneath, than lay the fondant over top. You get the same look this way. But, when the caterer serves the cake, they can pull the fondant off. This way, you get the look you want but you don't have to eat the yucky fondant. But there could be a lot of cost involved.

Yeah, that's exactly what I would like to do, but you know they are going to charge us an arm and a leg for doing that for us. The wedding is 9 weeks away from yesterday, so I think we should call the baker. What do you think, Amber? Should we make an appointment with Nancy Ray and talk about it with her to see what the cost comparison would be?

Amber & I have a huge weekend planned for us. And it all has to do with the wedding.

11:30am - Appointment with our cake lady, Nancy, to change the design of our cake to this. She was really excited about us coming to talk to her about it, so we'll see how it goes.
http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/9728/perfectcake4qx.jpg

2pm - Appointment with our florist, Ginia, to renegotiate the flowers on our cake. And to just get a good idea of how everything will look that day.

3pm - Appointment with Anna, at our venue. We are going to tell her about some changes that we have made to the wedding. Also, just let her know how we see the wedding going on Amber's big day.

We also found out from Anna that the kid's meal consists of chicken fingers, french fries, and applesauce. The cost is $18.95 per child.

The vendor meals will be $25.95 per person, and they will have the mixed grill like everyone else. The price we are paying for everyone else is $67 per person.

You got a great deal on the under 5 crowd, Angel. We have two 3-year olds that will probably eat maybe two bites of food, and we are paying $19 each for those bites. Doesn't seem fair somehow. But that would suck if we had to pay full price for the vendors. We lucked out there, that's for sure. :D

Just an FYI I am pretty sure you will get your moneys worth with Cambrea. She is a P I G when it comes to F O O D. Trust me the girl can eat. Especially if it is chicken fingers and you have ranch dressing. LOL

Thanks, ladies!! This journal made me think about vendor meals, and the cost! I was just assuming I would have to put them in my full-cost count, but now I will remember to ask! Hopefully I get a discount, even if it is only 2 people! And that kids meal is great, ours count as 1/2 a person too, but we got lucky and found a place with delicious meals for only $45 a person. And, kids under the age of 5 are free.

No, Amber has decided that we are going with who RSVP's and that's final. If anyone shows up to the wedding who does not have a placecard, they will not be invited to stay. We are happy with the total number we have, and the RSVP count is over for us. Now we are in the process of doing the seating chart, and then it's on to coordinating all the different aspects of the wedding, such as who walks where and when, and what song will be playing at what time. :D

We won't even have to do it. Our wedding coordinator, Anna, will have the list at the door, and whoever is not on the list, can't stay.

We feel like when you don't RSVP, you're sending the message that you're not going. You just don't have the guts to mark the decline box. Like Lacey said, when she called the people who didn't RSVP, they told her they were coming and they didn't show up. They don't have the balls to say no to you on the phone, so they say yes knowing full well they don't intend to go to the wedding. When you don't RSVP, you are saying you're not coming. PERIOD. We have to make a stand on this one. :D

But if anyone RSVP's all the way up to the wedding, we will probably still allow them to stay for the wedding. We are just talking about all the people who didn't RSVP. I don't even know any of those people, it wouldn't bother me at all to say go home. :) But I won't have to, Anna will.

I am still debating on doing the hand ceremony. I love the idea of it but I am adamant about not having a long drawn out ceremony and we already have the unity candle. My officiant tells me how moving the hand ceremony is and she says it is only 2 1/2 minutes long. I think I am going to do it but was wondering what everyone else thought about it?

Hand Blessing Ceremony - Amber, please hold Jason hands palms up, so you may see the gift that they are to you.
These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and vibrant with love, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as he promises to passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.
These are the hands that will work along side yours, as together you build your future, as you laugh and cry, as you share your innermost secrets and dreams.
These are the hands you will someday place with expectant joy upon your stomach, until he too, feels his child stir within you.
These are the hands that look so large and strong, yet will be so gentle as he holds your baby for the first time.
These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes: tears of sorrow and tears of joy.
These are the hands that will comfort you in illness, and hold you when fear or grief engulfs your heart.
These are the hands that will tenderly lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into his eyes: eyes that are filled completely with his overwhelming love and desire for you.

Optional:At this point while the groom’s hands are still on top, the officiant asks the groom to take a good long look at the position of his hands. As the groom looks down at his hands the officiant says, "Because this is the last time you will have the upper hand".

Jason, please hold Amber hands palms up, so you may see the gift that they are to you.
These are the hands of your best friend, smooth, young and carefree, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as she promises to passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.
These are the hands that will hold each child in tender love, soothing them through illness and hurt, supporting and encouraging them along the way, knowing when it is time to let go.
These are the hands that will massage tension from you neck and back in the evenings after you’ve both had a long hard day.
These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times.
These are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick, or console you when you are grieving.
These are the hands that will hold you in joy and excitement and hope, each time she tells you that you are to have another child, that together you have created a new life.
These are the hands that will give you support as she encourages you to chase down your dreams. Together as a team, everything you wish for can be realized.

May these hands be blessed that we see before us this day. May they always be held by one another. May they have the strength to hold on during the storms of stress and the dark of disillusionment. May they remain tender and gentle as they nurture each other in their wondrous love. May these hands continue building a relationship founded in love, rich in caring, and devoted in reaching for perfection. May Jason and Amber see their four hands as healer, protector, shelter and guide.

I am doing the same thing with the list, but we are going to call people too. However, there may or may not be someone at the gate checking names. They only have a person checking names at the gate during times when a lot of people are there.

Bummped to most recent...

Our Ceremony

Welcome:

Officiant:
Jason and Amber want to welcome you to this celebration of their love for one another. Each of you has given something special to their lives. Your love and encouragement will forever be appreciated. Thank you for sharing one of life's happiest moments with them. May you be as important a part of their tomorrow as you are of their today.

Presentation:

Officiant:
Who gives this woman in marriage?

Mom:
I do.

Intro:

Officiant:Jason and Amber the relationship that you have nurtured together stands for love that will blossom and grow with each passing day. Before you knew love, you were friends, and it was from this seed of friendship that is now your destiny. Marriage is the clasping of hands, the blending of hearts, the union of two lives as one. Marriage is caring as much about the welfare and happiness of your marriage partner as your own, it is not total absorption into each other; it is looking outward in the same direction together. Marriage makes burdens lighter because you divide them. It makes joys more intense because you share them. It makes you stronger, so you can be involved with life in ways you dare not risk alone. To make your relationship succeed will take love. This is the core of your marriage and why you are here today. It will take trust, to know in your hearts that you truly want the best for each other. It will take dedication, to stay open and honest with one another - and to learn and grow together. It will take faith, to go forward together without knowing exactly what the future brings. And it will take commitment, to hold true to the journey you both promised today to share together. An intimate and secure relationship is not based solely on promises, but also on trust, respect, faithfulness and the ability to forgive. A lasting marriage is based on all of these, bound together by love.

Declaration of Intent:

Officiant:
Jason and Amber may this be the love that you bring into this relationship and may its essence touch all those with whom you come in contact. As you come this day to affirm your love and commitment, may you always remember to value each other as special and unique individuals, and that you respect each other’s thoughts, ideas and feelings. May you be able to forgive and to forget when wronged - as from this day forward you will be each other's home, comfort and sanctuary.

Officiant: Amber, do you take Jason to be your husband? Do you promise to love, adore, and encourage him? Share the good times and achievements as well as the hard times and disappointments? Keep him in sickness and in sorrow and to be loyal to him forevermore?

Amber:
I do.

Officiant:Jason, will you take Amber as your wife? As your companion and best friend for life, will you treat her with love and devotion, honor and respect? Will you stand by her in the triumphs and tragedies of life, as a faithful and caring husband?

Jason:
I will.

Exchange of Vows:

Officiant:Jason and Amber the vows that you are about to exchange serve as a verbal representation of the love you have promised to each other. For it is not the words that you speak today which will unite you together as one, but the inner sense of love and commitment that each of you feels within your soul. No other human ties are as tender, no other vows more sacred than those you now assume.

Amber’s Vows:
I love you, Jason. You are my best friend. Today I give myself to you in marriage and take you as my husband. I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you, and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle. I promise to love you in good times and in bad, when life seems easy and when it seems hard, when our love is simple, and when it is an effort. I promise to cherish you, and to always be there for you. These things I give to you today, and all the days of our life.

Jason’s Vows:
I Jason, take you Amber, as my wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part; this is my solemn vow.

Hand Ceremony: (Officiant Reads)
Amber, please hold Jason hands palms up, so you may see the gift that they are to you.
These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and vibrant with love, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as he promises to passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.

Ring Ceremony Passage:

Officiant:The ring is a symbol of the unbroken circle of love. Love freely given has no beginning and no end, no giver and no receiver for each is the giver and each is the receiver. May these rings always remind you of the vows you have taken.

Ring Exchange:

Officiant:Amberplease place this ring on Jason’s ring finger and repeat after me:

Amber:
I give you this ring as a sign of my devotion and love and with all my heart I promise to you all that I am. With this ring I marry you and join my life to yours.

Officiant:Jason please place this ring on Amber’s ring finger and repeat after me:

Jason:
Amber I give you this ring as I give you myself. It is a circle without end. Such is my love for you.
Officiant: May the sacredness of this moment and the vows and rings you have exchanged ever remain as a priceless memory in the heart of each of you and may you have perfect love and peace together.

Unity Candle:
(My mom and Jason’s Grandmother will light the tapers.)
Officiant: From every human being, there rises a light that reaches straight to heaven. And when two souls are destined to find each other, their two streams of light flow together and a single brighter light goes forth from their united being. They do not lose their individuality; yet, in marriage, they are united in so close a bond that they become one. Now, they will light the large center candle from the smaller candles to symbolize this new reality. In this way, they are saying that henceforth their light must shine together for each other, and for their families.

Closing:

Officiant: Jason and Amber if there is anything you remember of this marriage ceremony, may it be the love that brought you here today, it is only love which can make it a glorious union, and by love which your marriage shall endure. Today your separate lives with your individual memories, desires, and hopes merge into one. You are now taking into your care and keeping the happiness of the one person in the entire world whom you love above all others. You are adding to your life not only the affection of each other, but also the companionship and blessing of a deep trust as well. You are agreeing to share strength, responsibilities and to share love.May you be a blessing and comfort to each other, sharers of each other’s dreams, consolers of each other’s sorrows, helpers to each other in all of life's challenges. May you encourage each other in whatever you set out to achieve. May you trust each other, trust life and be unafraid. May your marriage bring you all the exquisite excitements a marriage should bring, and may life grant you patience, tolerance, and understanding.

Pronouncement:
Officiant: Jason and Amber you have expressed your love to one another through the commitment and promises you have just made. It is with these in mind that I pronounce you husband and wife.

Kiss:
Officiant: Jason you may now kiss your bride.

Presentation:
Officiant: Ladies and Gentleman, it is my honor to present to you for the first time Jason and Amber Curry or Mr. And Mrs. Curry?

Sorry, I've been sick, and then my monitor broke. So I had to go buy a new monitor before I could get the bridal shower pictures up. But I have them now. The bridal shower was given at my mother's house.

This is Amber's grandmother (my mother), Amber, and me wearing our matching bridal shower shirts.

This is two of Amber's three BM's, Tracy and Shannon. The other one, Crystal, had a car accident and couldn't make it to the bridal shower. Shannon is Amber's MOH.

Well, we had a fabullous time at the shower. My MOH, Shannon did the decorating and my mom, my aunt Jody and I did all the food preparation. My aunt cut up all the veggies for the veggie tray and made everything look so pretty. We had a fruit tray, strawberries and cream dip for those. I made a meat and cheese tray and we had rolls for everyone to make sandwiches. We also made some lemonade punch and added strawberries and sprite (thanks Kelli!!) it was delicious!!

Jason and I have lived together for 3 years so we do not need the traditional gifts that is why we did a honeymoon registry. But some of the guest brought me lingerie, lotions, soaps, perfumes etc for the honeymoon. Jason's grandmother's got us a scrapbook so that we can start collecting things to put in there for the memories. It was very nice of them. Also my friend Sandi from work made me a shadow box it is the most amazing thing I have ever seen it has one of my invitations, pics of Jason and I now and when we were little, she put a cat at the bottom(I love cats), also there is a bouquet that was white but she dyed it lilac to match my theme!! It is so special something that will last a lifetime.

All in all the shower was so fabuolus. I have the best friends and family!!

Amber,

May I just compliment you on all of your wedding details. I just began planning my wedding and when I saw your pics and things you're having for your wedding it was like seeing my very own visions. I too am planning to have "victorian lilac" as my main color, I absolutely love it! I'm also having my MOH wear lilac, a lighter version. And silver will be another color to coordinate my decor with.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your invitations and champagne flutes!! Could you please tell me what company makes them??

Oh another thing.. I am too planning on having purple and light purple m&m's but I am putting them in mini silver champagne glasses on the tables as part as the setting.
It's crazy how much we have in common with our invisions!! Best of luck on your wedding! Sounds like your mom does an AWESOME job with the wedding!

Remember to cherish every moment of the day.. and take the time throughout to stop and look around and just soak it all in for a couple minutes or it will fly by faster than you can see. I've planned 3 of my friends weddings now and they all say that was some of the best advice they were given. They all say the day seems like it ends before it even begins!

I had to go in and change my date to Sept 10 in order to be right with you guys. For some reason, Snugglepie counts their days differently than the Ticker Factory. And Snugglepie's is wrong so I changed the date and it is right now. Weird, huh?

Yesterday, we went to pick up Amber's wedding dress. All the beads and embroidery was fixed and it was steam cleaned and ironed. Well, we ask the girl how to bustle it because I wanted to make sure I knew how to do that when it came time for Amber's reception. She says, "did you ask for a bustle to be put on it?" :bbquestion: Huh? We said, "no, we didn't know we had to ask, we thought they came with them." The first dress Amber was going to get had the bustle already there, so we just assumed this one would too. We told them that they should have told us that, because a bustle is a very important part of the wedding dress. How is she supposed to get around carrying her train everywhere she goes? We didn't want to use safety pins! So they said the seamstress would not be in until Monday, and she would be the one to put on the bustle. So we left Amber's dress there, and they better have the bustle put on in the next 27 days or they are going to have one pissed Bride and MOB on their hands!!!! :censored:

The more I think of it the more pissed I am about it. I called my friend Mary and told her the story and she was like, "they don't automatically come with it??" Uh...apparently not. Mine does not have a bustle on it either. I have to get one put on there. We are taking it to the seamstress hopefully tomorrow. I also have some alterations that need to be done.

I am sorry you had this kind of shock this close to the wedding. I'm sure they will have it fixed and ready for you!

Thats c r a p. My seamstress (that I had to book over a year in advance) asked me if I wanted a bustle and if I sent her a picture of the back of the dress she would draw up a few ideas that would look nice.

A seamstress should ask you if you want a bustle and you shouldnt have to ask. They do alterations on wedding dresses all the time... I'm sure a lot of brides dont know about the bustle or forget about it. I would be pissed about it. I would be Bridezilla... no joke.

You know I never even thought about a bustle. Duh! Too late now. Oh well, it has the little loop thing I can hold the train by.
That is really a bummer though, Amber. They should have said something about it or at least asked you if you wanted to have one at the time you bought it!

My seamstress asked me. Then she showed me several styles that would work on my dress. Those 7 little strings and loops were supposed to cost me $75. But, I lucked out and they never charged me for it. ALL of my alterations were free since they ordered my dress in the wrong size. But I woul dhave paid anything. My seamstress did an amazing job.

Well...today was amazing! I asked for today off from work becasue my MOH had a spa day planned for us and it was just what I needed. We both had 10:30 appointments for European facials and massages. The whole time I was on the table I felt all my stress, worries, and concerns melt away. It was truly an out of body experience. We left there and went to Costco to get the alcohol for the hotel room tomorrow night. We also hit up Fascinations and let me tell you we had a great time there. We got penis straws and lays with penis's on them. The first thing Shannon said was, "Can you imagine your mom drinking out of a penis straw!" LOL! We will have a great time. Will have stories and pics of the bachlorette party Sunday...well...maybe Monday...LMAO!!

Wow! It is 6 here in PA so I think that makes it 3 out in AZ and still no posting from either of you! I can't even begin to imagine what is causing that. The bad thing of partying like a rock star is that you also get hung over like one too. Tragically though you don't have the disposable income for a personal assistant to get you through it. :bbmrgreen: I can't wait to hear how it all went.

Hello Ladies!

Well my bachelorette party was friggin AMAZING!! I am just waking up from the 3rd or 4th nap of today. My head still is pounding and my stomach is doing a weird grumbling thing. I do not think I am capable of sitting on the computer and telling you all every detail...but here are a few. We had 2 hotel rooms that were ajoining. We decorated everthing thing with penis confetti and penis straws. We hug up the pin the hose on the fireman poster so that the first thing everyone saw when they walked in was a HOT fireman. My MOH had Macayo's catered in YUMMY! We had beer, vodka, and rum!! As everyone started showing up I got more and more excited. All in all it was 18 people that were there. WOW! Anyway I got some goodies including a vibrator, lube, a loincloth(tarzan style for Jason), naughty fortune cookies, furry leg cuffs, these candie rings that go on the penis sorry TMI, a gift card for Victoria's Secret, and some other naughty things that are eluding me now. Well, as Angel would say fast forward to about 9:30 when the party BUS arrived. It had a friggin HOT TUB in it!! Yes a HOT TUB!!! It was HUGE the bus was so much fun and everyone was so happy with it. We went to the Sandbar in Scottsdale which was a blast. The first thing my MOH bought me was a blowjob shot and I took it like a champ even though the alcohol was really strong. I had to do some other goofy things there, my MOH had these dice that you roll and they have me do various tasks. I had to hug a tall guy, and sing to a bald guy it was so funny!! We danced and YES ladies my mother was shaking her money maker all over that dance floor. It was a hoot! Well we left the Sandbar and went to another club called Suede...it was way too packed and hot in there but I still managed to have a good time. We decided to go back to the room and party the rest of the night there. My mom went to bed at about 2am I stayed up and went to sleep at about 5am. We got up checked out of the hotel and went to Denny's I am 100% sure I was still drunk at that point. I came home and told Jason all the fun we had he laughed and looked at all my naughty gifts. There were lots of pics taken. As soon as my mom gets on she will post them! We had soooooo much friggin fun!!!

You've heard the Bride's point of view of the Bachelorette Party, now here is the MOB version:

Ok, I'm back as well. Sorry, I slept all day and all night; obviously, I can't party like a rock star, and expect to bounce right back like I used to anymore. I lived through it!! We had a fabulous time!!! My sister, Jody, took lots and lots of pictures, and Amber took some too. I thought Jody sent them to me but there is only one picture in the email she sent me. I think she thinks she has sent them all to me, but I will post any good ones as soon as I get them from her.

Amber & I got our hair done, and went straight over to the hotel to get everything situated. Shannon, MOH, met us at the hotel. We arrived at the hotel to set up at about 5pm, and everyone started arriving at about 7pm. There was such a good turnout of about 18 people (17 girls, & 1 gay guy, Sean). It was fantastic! Amber wore a little mini crown and veil the whole night. She had to wear a lei with mini penises on it too. It was hilarious. She also wore a thing across her chest that said, "Bachelorette." Everyone else wore purple beads to distinguish us as "Amber's Bachelorette Party." I got to wear the hottie whistle, which I was supposed to blow every time we saw a man that qualified as a hottie. Now that I look back on it, I didn't blow that whistle very much. We all had to drink from our penis straws, and yes they do have pictures of me and a few others of us who unfortunately had to be the suckers (literally). lol

Amber got a whole bunch of penis gifts, that I can't even remember, I think she told you about some of those. The vibrator was an interesting choice. lol We played sex games, and gave prizes away to the winners. Believe it or not, I won the one that asked Amber all her private sex questions, such as, "how many sex partners has Amber had?" Needless to say, I got that one wrong. lol It was way more information that I wanted to know. lol

We had dinner catered from Macayo's Mexican Restaurant, with mini chimis, mini taquitos, mini tamales, chips, salsa, sour cream, guacamole. It was delicious! We promptly started drinking after we ate. Amber & I, and a few others were drinking beer, but I think most of the girls, and Sean, were drinking mixed drinks. By the time the Party Bus got there to pick us up at 9pm, we had a substantial buzz going. lol We went to three different nightclubs, but the first one was the best. Amber had to hug a short guy, and sing to a tall guy (I blew the whistle for this guy. lol), which went very well. The men were really good sports about it.

When we got back to our rooms at 2am, I promptly fell asleep in the other room where the party wasn't going on. I think at about 4 or 5am, the front desk called and asked them to keep the noise down, but I never heard a thing and slept through it all. lol

Ok, it's time for pictures. Like I said before, these are only the ones that Amber took, Jody took way more pictures than Amber did, but she hasn't sent them to me yet. If there are any really juicy ones, I will post those as well. lol

First up, Amber's fabulous hair. It turned out really pretty.
