It is nice to know that some countries are actually living in the 21st century. Unfortunately we are still behind. Hoepfully we will get there soon!

Woohoooooo! One state at a time, baby! :grinhappy:
Sadly, I live in the one that will be last, I'm sure....Oklahoma. We didn't even allow tattoos until a couple of years ago. (We ain't too bright, apparently.) :snide:

Woohoo! Go Cali!
You would think the state with the wedding capital of the world would allow it, but hopefully our time will soon come.

Totally serious. It was illegal until November 2006.
And it's still illegal to give a tattoo within 1,000 feet of a church!

Hee... my boss is scrambling to turn her commitment ceremony (scheduled for this august) into a real wedding now! Apparently, it's super-hard to find an officiant right now, because so many couples who have been living together since forever ago are rushing to get married!

I found out this weekend my sister & her life partner of the past 6 years are going to fly to California in Sept. (from Florida) and get married officially.
I am so excited for them, they have always said "if only...." And now they will be able to have their commitment to one another & each others families recognized publicly!

Hmm, I can't quote in the comment Elizabeth made on this one. I was gonna say, that's only in Quebec, everywhere else in Canada, you can turn right on red lights. :D But, as the Montreal comedians Bowser & Blue once said "We may not be able to turn right on red lights, but we can go right through them!"

Sometimes it feels so funny to hear such things about other places, where few other acts are considered illegal, what we do regularly in our day to day life.. lol
