Okay yesterday we got the guest list under control. The numbers are 242 adults and 30 children (children being between 5-12, under 5 are not counted and over 12 are adults.) This means we have 117 households to send invites to. I was thinking of getting 130 invitations so we have some for keep sakes and some for mess ups. What do you think?
We are probably going to start invitation shopping next weekend! I am excited about that.

I think that sounds about right. We just have my guest list together right now and are going to work on Andrew's tonight, hopefully. For my list, there are 41 households and I'm estimating Andrew will have about 45 or so. We were thinking about 100 invitations for our count.

You normally have to order invites in sets of 25 or 50, depending on the supplier. I had 153 to send out so I think we got 175.

130 sounds reasonable. If you have to order them in 25's 125 should be plenty as well. You will definatly want to keep some and frame them. And your parents might want to hang on to a couple extra.
If you are hand writing the envelopes yourself and if you can get extra envelopes. I made so many mistakes adressing mine.
Have fun shopping for invitations!

Do you think I should start collecting addresses now so it will not be crunch time later?

I stated collecting my addresses right away. I was lucky to have my mom write out most of my family ones while she was doing christmas cards. FMIL is being a bit slow getting address for that side of the family. Never to early to start though!

I think you should get extra invites. You never know what you will need them for. I would start getting addresses as well.

I started to gather mine in August for my May wedding. So get done what you can and when you can.

I can see my FMIL being slow to get addresses for me.
