I've been reading some of the real soties on OW and it's inspired me to write our story. It's a little long...sorry. :purplex:

Mel: 25 year old teacher originally from northern NH. Teaching is not only my occupation but my passion. So between lesson planning and wedding planning I knew I would need a long time to plan piece mail. Hence the Aug 2010 date.

Andy: 27 year old delivery driver from Boston. He works for an auto parts warehouse and is able to leave work at work. He is a sweet and caring man, who is fully supportive of me and my career. He's actually kinda excited about wedding planning.

How we met: We both posted profiles on a popular dating site. He came up in my "could be compatible list". I read his profile and decided to send an email. That was in Nov 2003. We talked via email, IM, and phone calls all the time. We became really good friends, but I was not ready to meet face-to-face. At the end of March 2004 we ate lunch together. There was clear chemistry there. The conversation was easy and there was a lot of touching hands or him touching my arm. The next day I left for 10 days on Spring Break to DisneyWorld with my college roomate. Andy and I talked every day and there were many times that I wished that he were there. I couldn't wait to see him again. As soon as I came back we set up a Movie and Dinner date. Our first official date (and first kiss) was April 4, 2004. That was over 4 years ago.

The Proposal: Things became official on June 4, 2008. It was a very long day at work. I had to go in early to get stuff done in the classroom, we had an almost 2 hr staff meeting (where the principal announced that the classroom I had been subbing in was going to be my permanent 4th grade classroom), then we had a school function that night. Needless to say I left our apt at 6:30am and didn't get home until 9pm.

I walked in the door and up the stairs to my apartment I could hear music in the kitchen. I knew that meant Andy was in the kitchen cooking, which made me happy cuz i was starving. I opened the door to a neatly dressed table, with candles, pink and red roses, and a card at my seat at the table.

Andy took my school bag and poured me a glass of wine. At this point I still only thought it was a congrats on your new job. I had NO CLUE he was going to propose. He told me to sit down and enjoy my drink dinner would be ready soon. But he said i couldn't open the card until later. We had a great dinner and real conversation. Andy refilled my wine glass and told me I could open my card. It was one of those singing cards "Love you out Loud" by Rascal Flatts! On the inside Andy had written "Congratulations on your new job, and our new life!" I looked up at Andy and he was on one knee holding the most beautiful ring! I just broke into tears. I don't even really remember what he said. It's kinda all a blur.

So that is our story. I look forward to learning more about all of yours.
