Gifts before the wedding???

So we received our first pre-wedding gift today :whoohoo: It was from one of our best friends who shipped off to the military in the beginning of June and can't make it to the wedding :(

My question is this: Do you open the gifts you get pre-wedding? Or put them aside and open them after the wedding with the rest of the gifts??

We opened it - because the way I see it is: I can send their thank you note a lot faster rather than them waiting 4 more weeks for their thank-you's.

I think I agree with you though I'm not sure what the traditional idea is on that. 'Cause you also get gifts at the shower, and you open those before the wedding.... but that is a good question.

Yay for getting gifts before the wedding!! I agree with you. Also, they aren't all piled up, so you can make it more personal. *^^*

We only got one gift early, apart from shower gifts, but we opened that puppy right up (haha) and since we knew they weren't coming to the wedding, we went ahead and sent a Thank You Card.

We got two early wedding gifts. We opened one right away, the other was requested to be opened after the wedding...

WE opened any cards we got in the mail early so that we could deposit any money that might be in it to use towards spending money on our honeymoon...LOL. The gifts we just waited and opened with the ones we received at the wedding.

That's a great deal!!!! I'm going to have to discuss with Matt the situation. We opened the first one cuz we were both in a hurry and I couldn't wait - I didn't really wait for his input on it. Oops! I think we'll have that talk the next time one comes in LOL.
