I am so excited that I finally get to start our married journal!!!!! We left Sunday morning at 3 am to the airport for St.Maarten!! It was stunning the water was an aqua color and the sand was pure white. We had the time of our lives there, and would go back in a heartbeat. We got home Saturday the 14th at 1am. It was so weird to have my parents drop us off at OUR house and then tell us goodbye. We went to bed cuddling it felt SO GOOD!! We woke up at 8am the next morning and went to my sisters high school graduation. It was just so nice to go places as a married couple and leave and go back to our life at our home. THe next day Brad had to go back to work so I woke him up at 7 and packed his lunch and sent him off to work. Then I went to my parents house and my mom and I went to Walmart and to pick up our wedding pictures. Then we went to a cookout for fathers day. I came home and watched tv and cleaned until Brad got home. I had a Digorno pizza waiting for him. Its so nice to cook for him and have dinner ready and waiting. The only problem is he doesn't get off work until 10 and gets home around 10:45 so by then he is starving and I have already ate. I tried to just snack until then the first night but I had to eat something. Monday night I had hamburger helper waiting for him. I can't wait until he gets on his regular schedule. He just got another promotion and now he is a MANAGER, not an assistant manager. He has his own store and got a $15,000 raise!! WOOHOO! It could not have come at a better time. I think I am going to make tacos tonight or maybe chicken and rice casserole. I just love our life together.

We are still adjusting to living together. It is so nice to be sitting on the couch and having my HUSBAND walk in from work. I am trying to get everything together all the paperwork and stuff to formally change my name. It is a pain in the butt. I am still waiting for our copy of the marriage license from our pastor. She went out of town the day after our wedding and it coming back tomorrow. So hopefully I can have a lot of it finished by next week!

We finally managed to open all of the last minute wedding gifts and cards. Boy did we make out like bandits! We got just under $3,000 in cash and checks, and a couple hundred in gift cards. Also tons of photo albums, towels, a quesadilla maker, toaster oven, a blanket with a very sweet saying, Brad's aunt made us some ceramics. I just love all the gifts. Now its crunch time on the thank you cards!
Well, I'm a little late on congratulating you on starting your wedding journal, but "congrats"! I have the same issues with Chad getting home late after I've already eaten dinner. I eat and then I warm his dinner up for him when he gets home. I love it! It's so special to me.
Wow, you sure did get a lot of monetary gifts! That's so awesome. What are you going to do with the it?

Well things are still crazy in our newlywed life. We are still moving boxes into the house from our parents houses. I will be so happy once we have everything situated. Just when I think I have the house clean and everything organized another box pops up! I am going down to the courthouse today to pick up or marriage license so we can get everything straight. I need copies for numerous things, we need to get our car insurance together, I need to be put on Brad's health insurance and yadda yadda. Brad's cousin made a cd with all the pictures she took from the wedding and reception and us getting ready and put all of our music behind it. She is going to come down from Nothern Va and stay with us this coming weekend and give us the cd, she said it is over 1 1/2 long! I can't wait to see it!!

I finally finished up all of the thank you cards just a few minutes ago here at work! I am getting ready to take them over to the post office! I feel so much better that they are finally all done! We got 2 more gifts today a $60 dinner gift card to a local resturant and 2 beach chairs, a beach umbrella with an umbrella holder and 2 beach towels from one of Brad's friends. I was excited this just gives us a better excuse to take off from work and go to the beach!!!!!

We have been very busy lately trying to get all of our last things out of our parents houses. Last night we moved my big dresser and now that left is basically junk that I need to go through and see if it is trash or something I really want to keep. Anyways, Brad is still working a lot but luckily he had of Tuesday and Wednesday of this week so he got some much needed things done in the yard at home. We are going bowling on Saturday, I am really looking forward to it, we haven't been able to do anything in a while because we were so wrapped up with the post wedding stuff and the house stuff. Next week for 4th of July we are trying to have a big cookout so we can visit everyone and so everyone can see the house. I am looking forward to that. I all rests on wether or not he can get the day off though. Its tough being a manager at a retail store:bbcry:, he has some crazy hours and doesn't get many days off. I know we are going to see the fireworks at the local rec center on Thursday night the 3rd that should be fun.
Sounds like things are coming together!! I love how you and him are moving in together AFTER your wedding - it's so sweet. I am looking forward to getting rid of everything after our wedding - cleaning house BIG TIME!!!
I love reading how you two are comin along!
Have fun bowling!! It's fun to be able to go out and do something really carefree sometimes. :grinhappy:

I just got back from the DMV and got my name and address changed on all the necessary things. Boy was that a chore. I think all I have to do now is make sure our cars get registered in the county that we moved to and change my name and address with the social security administration. I think thats all! We are having a huge cookout/party at our house for July 4th! I am so excited...we have kickball, water balloons, horseshoes, and we are going to have fireworks when it gets dark. I am thrilled b/c it will be our first party to host together at our new home! Thursday night we are going to the local fireworks and I'm stoked about that too, we didn't get to go to any last year.!

We've been married 1 month!!! WOW the time has flown by!! We had our huge July 4th cookout this past Friday and it was awesome!! We had fireworks, hamburgers, hotdogs, we played a huge game of kickball and then later in the night we played on the slip n slide. I am so sore from that!! It was awesome. Then Saturday Brad's cousin came down the visit from Nothern VA and brought us a dvd she made with tons of wedding pictures and songs in the background that were played at the wedding! It was an hour and a half!! It was great! She did an awesome job! I can't believe we have already been married for a month!!!
Happy belated one month anniversary!

This weekend I am going to Atlantic City!!! I am going with my aunt we are going on a bus and leave at 6am on Saturday morning and come back at 6am Sunday morning! I am so excited. It's just me and my aunt, it is my 21st birthday gift from her. My birthday was in April but we couldn't go any sooner than now because of all the wedding stuff going on. I'm sad that I have to leave Brad for that long but atleast he will be sleeping and working and only have a few hours Saturday evening by himself. :bbcry: On another note Brad called me from work last night at 9:30pm and said lets go grocery shopping! I was like WHAT!!! See he works in Williamsburg and we live in a county across the river you have to take a ferry to get there, which isn't bad its only 12 minutes to get across, he takes it to and from work everyday. But the catch is the ferry runs every half hour up until 10:30 then it runs every hour. So I caught the 10:00 ferry and got to his work by 10:30, he didn't end up getting out of work until 11:00 (he's a store manager for Rite Aid), so then we drove 10 minutes down the street to Walmart and grocery shopped. Well then since it was running every hour we had to wait for the 1:30 ferry. Needless to say by the time we got home it was 2:00 we put all the groceries away and finally go to bed by 3:00. I had to get up at 7:00! I AM SO TIRED. But hey I have a very good packed lunch!!!:D Today Brad finally has the day off, so when we get home I am going to make spagehtii and we get to eat together! I am really excited, we don't get to do it often. Then we figured we would rent a movie and eat some popcorn and just spend time together. I'm really looking forward to this evening.

I haven't updated in a while. Married life is going great with the exception of Brad working all the time. Ever since we got back to work after the honeymoon he has been working nights which is 12 noon to 10 pm and he doesn't get home until 11. It really sucks because its so lonely at home. I really miss having him there. I mean we get to sleep next to each other at night but I don't really get to talk and have long conversations with him a lot. My family is going to Lake Gaston August 9-16th so we are hoping to get off the 8-11 for a vacation and go down there for a couple days. His uncle is getting married on the 8th and then we will go to the lake. That would be awesome so we can spend some time together and with the family. I am keeping my fingers crossed that his district manager will approve his 4 days off!

Well today is my grandaddy's birthday, the one with cancer, so we are all going over to his house tonight for a birthday party. It's pretty sad wondering if he will be here for his birthday next year, especially since he was just give only 6 months more to live. I really don't like to think about it, but am asking that everyone please keep him in your prayers. I do thank you. Tomorrow we find out if Brad will be able to get those 4 days off for a mini vacation. I am so hoping and praying and keeping my fingers crossed, we really need some time together. I NEVER SEE HIM. I thought that living together we would see each other all the time, HA not. He works so dang on much, its frustrating. HOpefully it will get better soon.
Well Dana, I hope the party goes well. If this is any consolation, my grandma was given 2 months to live back in 1995... and she lasted another 11 years! If your grandpa has the will to fight, maybe he'll pull through. I'll be praying that you have a great evening and make a lot of good memories.
I'm so sorry that you're not getting enough time with Brad. I'm going through a similar situation and it's rough. I hope that you can have a good time with your grandpa and family tonight. Appreciating every second of time with them is all that you can do and hope and pray for the best!

Last night was my grandpa's birthday party and it went very well. He seemed to be very happy to have all of his family around him. We watched him open gifts and then we had cake and ice cream and just relaxed and enjoyed talking. Its so sad to see someone you love so much coming to an end of their life. I am going to miss him so much, but am keeping positive and hoping that he will be here for the holidays. One another note I am hoping and praying once again that Brad gets those couple of days off for us to go to the lake. I know I talk about it each day but I just want to go so bad and need the couple of days to spend with him. I just hope it all works out so bad. He has off tomorrow and is getting off at 5 tonight. I get off at 5 also so I am going to go home and make dinner and then hopefully we will be able to watch a movie and have some popcorn together. Just a low key night that we get to spend together. I am looking forward to it, and hope it all works out. Tomorrow we are going to be working in the yard, we are in the middle of putting up a chain link fence for our dog, who is currently staying at his parents house. We hope to have that done real soon. Rocky(the dog) misses us i'm sure. lol. My sister is leaving for college on the 21st to Longwood. I am going to miss her, we are very close and she stays at our house a lot, she makes it a little less lonely with out Brad there. We get to hang out and do silly sister stuff. Atleast Longwood is only 2 hours away.
I'm glad that you had a good time, even though I'm sure it was bittersweet. Have a good time with your honey this weekend! Just sitting at home watching a movie and eating popcorn is lovely time together! Oh, and good luck to your sister! It's exciting that she's going off to college, but I hope that you two stay as close as ever.

Saturday Brad finally had a day off so we go to sleep in together unitl about 10am. Then we went to Williamsburg and did some shopping and came back and his parents came over and we made dinner and played cards for a while. Then we just relaxed and watched a movie and spent the rest of the night together. It was so fun just to enjoy having him at home for the evening. Now i'm still waiting to find out if he will be able to get time off to go to the lake. I got spoiled with having him home for just one day, so I now want 3!! This week is going by so slow. We are getting ready get a new kitchen sink and dishwasher. I am so excited!! The sink now leaks and it is really annoying to have a puddle of water behind the sink after I wash the dishes, because I can't use the dishwasher b/c its broken. Hopefully we will get those within the next week or 2. We have been married for 2 months come Thursday. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. Just 2 months ago today I was flipping out and it was my last day of work before the wedding. I miss the wedding planning. Brad's uncle is getting married this Friday, so I get to decorate and make the brides boquet. I'm really excited! It brings back memories.

YAY!!! Brad can go to the Lake this weekend...although its only for a day or two. He gets off work at 1 on Saturday afternoons so we are planning to leave around 3, then we will stay the night Saturday night and Sunday night and we have to come home MOnday morning because he has to work Monday night. Its only a 2 hour drive though so it won't be to bad. I'm looking forward to atleast having all of Sunday to spend with the family and go tubing and skiing in the boat. It should be fun and he needs a weekend to relax and get work off his mind. Today the are having inventory at his store so he has been very stressed out lately getting everything ready for it. He had to be at work at 3am!!! He went to be at 7 last night and I just layed beside him and watched tv until I fell asleep at 9! That is so early, normally we don't go to sleep until 1am. I must say I feel very rested. It was so weird when I woke him up at 2am and he left, I then had the bed to myself for 5 more hours! I missed him beside me but boy did I get some good sleep in stretched all out in the bed! LOL!
So how was the lake weekend?!?

I still have to upload some more pictures from the Lake. We actually got to stay all day on Monday and didn't have to leave until 4. That was really nice. We got home at 6 Monday night and then watched the Green Bay Packers pre season football game. We are going to be getting a 40" flat screen tv before the first Green Bay game on September 8th and right now Circuit City has them on sale. So hopefully this weekend we will be able to go get it! I am really excited! That will be nice to watch the football games on! My sister is leaving for college next Thursday and I am starting to get a little sad, we are super close and even though she will only be 2 hours away, it's not like I can just call her and say lets go shopping and she's at my house in 20 minutes. Oh well, we are going to be driving up and getting her a lot on the weekends. We have season tickets to the local AHL hockey team and she likes to go to the games so I know she will be wanting to come down for most of them. Today is my parents 26th wedding anniversary. Its so amazing to be married for such a long time and so in love. My grandparents 50th wedding anniversary is on Septemeber 21st and we are planning a huge party for them. It is going to be 1950's themed and all the girls are going to be wearing poodle skirts. She never got to go to her high school prom because she got pregnant when she was 16 and married my grandad, so we are going to recreate a high school prom for them both and have king and queen crowns for them. We will be hosting the party the 2nd weekend of October. I am really looking forward to it!!!
Oh my! I'm getting a little teary eyed with your grandparents anniversary party! That is such a cute and sweet idea. It's great that you have your parents and grandparents marriages to look towards to give you strength and inspiration for your own.
Good luck letting go of your sister a little. That's gonna be emotional!

Our AC went out yesterday. When I got home from work at 5:30 it was HOT in the house. So I figured Brad had gotten cold during the morning or something and turned it down. When I went to turn it back up the thermometer said it was 84 degrees in the house!! UGHH it was so hot. So now we can't get anyone to come out and look at it until Tuesday morning!!! Luckily it is starting to cool down somewhat here in Virginia, and it was actually pretty comfortable with the windows open and the ceiling fans going. But during the day it is going to get pretty hot. Oh well, atleast we are getting a new sink in tomorrow and I am so excited!!! I absolutely hate, this shallow leaking one we have now! Everyone think of us while you are in your nice air conditioned homes!!!lol:bbcry:
Hang in there! We can't even use our A/C  so we get home at about 88*. Last night we got home it was 90* in our living room! We just have fans all over the house.

Ugh, I totally understand with the AC frustrations. Yesterday our unit went out and the soonest we can get a tech out here is gonna be Monday. Arizona with no AC is literally hot as hell.

Hopefully our Air Conditioner will be fixed tomorrow morning. We found out at my cousins birthday party last night that my cousin has a friend who fixes them on the side. YAY! So we called him and he said that he would be out there either Monday night or TUesday morning. He will only charge us however much the part is, but ofcourse we are going to give him a little something for his time and service. I hope it all works out!! I can't stand the heat much longer! Last night was the worst, it was unbelieveably hot in our room! Anyways, my mom went to visit my grandad that has cancer yesterday and she said he does not look good at all. He is down to 120 pounds and very depressed. He says he doesn't want to go on with the chemo anymore. I'm hoping Brad and I can get over there tomorrow night and visit him. :bbcry: He is basically going day by day now. Its pretty hard. I'm taking off work on Thursday and so is Brad so we can go with my parents to take my sister to Longwood for college. I'm going to miss her so much. But on the plus side it is a day off of work, and it will break the week up.
I'm so glad that you're getting your AC fixed asap. I can't imagine. Ours has been on all day! I'm so sorry about your grandad. Sometimes it's just too much to take. You're in my thoughts.

This morning the air conditioner guy came out, and luckily it is only a $40-$50 part. Thank goodness we thought it was the fan motor which would have been $450. Since he is a co-worker of my cousin, and is doing this on the side, he didn't have the part we needed. So he will be coming back tomorrow or Thursday to put it in. Right now the weather isn't too bad its in the upper 80's but the humidity level is down, so its bearable, with tons of fans in the house it isn't to bad. Tonight Brad and I are going to go to dinner at Applebee's then going to visit my grandad. After that we are going to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and going to use the rest of our gift cards, we have at $200 in gift cards there. Then we are going to go to Best Buy and Circuit City to look for our big screen tv, we didn't get one last weekend. So it should be a fun night. I'm looking forward to seeing my grandad, and also spending time with Brad.
Aww it sounds like you're going to have a really great night. Let us know how your grandad is and what you buy!

Last night was a super fun night! We went to see my grandparents, my grandad isn't doing good, but he enjoyed the company. Then we went to Circuit City and got a 40" flat screen tv!!! Then headed off to Bed, Bath and Beyond and used our gift cards, we got lots of pictures for the house. Then we headed to Applebee's for dinner which was GREAT! Then we went to Brads parents house to pick up our kitten who had to get neutered and he stayed over there so our other cat wouldn't bother him! Pictures are below!

Aw, I want one! Lol. Nice TV though!
I love the decorations! I like beach themed bathrooms too. They're fun! We almost did that, but then we found a shower curtain that we liked and went in a different direction. When we were in Mexico (on our honeymoon) we met a man who was painting some tiles and bought one that reminded us of the tropical area. We hung it in our bathroom so it still has a touch of the beach!
Cooool tv!

I love it. We watched tv for a while and ate some snacks then moved to the bedroom and chilled and watched tv we were both extremly tired so we ended up going to bed at 9:45. It felt so good to sleep in the AIR CONDITIONING! YES WE GOT IT FIXED YESTERDAY FOR ONLY $75!!!!! Boy it was nice!!

Not much new going on in our lives right now. Brad's schedule is finally getting better. He had to go to work yesterday morning at 4am and got home about 3pm..so he was sleepig when I got home, but we got to have dinner together and today he is off so we will get to have another evening together. Friday he is off also so we are thinking of going to dinner and a movie. That should be fun, i'm really looking forward to it. Saturday night we might have some friends over to play cards or watch movies. I'm glad our schedules are finally coming together and we have some time to spend together, it's really nice.

I'm glad your schedules are getting better. I'm looking forward to the day when ours is. Chris works weird hours. He kinda always has. Sometimes he'll go in at 6:30 am and be off at like 2 or 3. Then the next day has to go in at like 12 and get off at 10. Its just not set, and is different every week. I hate that. And I hate working nights and evenings. I'm hoping for a full-time job soon so I can be off at like 5. And that would be fun to have a dinner/movie date. We go out to eat a lot but its nothing special anymore. We don't really do anything like go to a movie and dinner and have dates like that. I wish we did.

Uggghhh.... I am so over my job. It is stressing me out to the max at times and at others I just sit here and do absolutely NOTHING from 8:30-5. This is bull. I do not get paid good AT ALL and my boss is driving me insane! I just went to careerbuilder.com and saw where a legal firm was hiring. So I went ahead and applied, hopefully I will hear something back from them. It would be so nice to get out of this job. I work for a real estate company right now as the Administrative Assistant, and I'm also a Realtor. The Realtor part isn't bad I actually Love it. But the administrative assistant part is so boring right now, I just don't know how much more I can take! Please cross your fingers for me on the job I applied for!

Good luck! I'm trying to find a full-time job. There's limited decent jobs around here so I'm kinda stuck. I'm actually considering getting a real estate license or whatever you need to be a realtor. I've thought about it for a while now and think it'd be fun.
I'm so glad that you guys are getting more time to spend together. I love date nights! I hope that you get a job that you enjoy more. Let us know when you hear back about it!

This weekend was fun! Friday night Brad and I grilled hot dogs and just stayed around the house watching tv. Saturday I cleaned house and went to the store for a few things then we had some friends over for a while later that night. On Sunday my cousin Jenny came over and we worked all day on my grandparents party, we accomplished a lot!! Then yesterday I went out on the boat with my parents and brother and got sunburn on my face! It was fun though, then Brad came home and we watched some tv then went to sleep. He has the day off today, so he is going to change his oil and fix the lawn mower and cut the grass and weed eat. Then when I get home we will get some dinner and then go shopping for my dad and his mom birthday presents. We also just found out last night that his cousin and wife and 3 year old boy are coming in from Alaska to visit, they are going to stay with us from the 25th of September to the 15th of October. Gosh I have a lot to do to get the house ready! It will be fun seeing them though. HIs cousin was supposed to be one of the groomsmen in the wedding but he couldn't get down here because of work and the plane tickets were so expensive. I guess I have to start thinking of things we can do while they are here for 20 days!

Well not to much is going on right now. We watched the Green Bay Packers game last night and it was great! GO PACKERS!!! I am still trying to get the house all organized for our family coming in on the 25th! This weekend my mom and I are going to have a yard sale, it will be nice if I can make a little extra cash! We have collected a lot of junk through moving out of our parents houses and into our own. Some of the stuff we just don't need anymore. The storm this last weekend Tropical Storm Hanna didn't really do to much thank goodness. We all prepared for some damage, and luckily escaped it all. Just a lot of rain, which we needed!!! Football season is back in gear and we are big Packer fans so we are very excited! Hockey season will start on the 10th of October and I can't wait!
I used to be a big time Packer's fan cuz the boy I had a crush on throughout Jr. High liked em LOL. Even got the expensive jackets and everything
That's awsome that you got to go to a game! Good luck with the yard sale!
